It seems that you've somehow gained our attention as a hacker. Yes, you. You right there. No, stop looking around like I'm talking to someone else.
Congratulations. An elite group of hackers known as VITCO (Vitmon Institution of Technological Creature-like Organisms) has noticed your talents and is looking to use them. You're a hacker, and so are we. Despite your past and any hacking you may have done, good or otherwise, we are willing to overlook any criminal record you may have as long as you promise to work with us. And if you choose not to, well, we might just have to turn you into the officials. Your decision.
Although, not really. But don't worry about it too much. We only ask that you help us with Project Vitmon. See, we've created special hacking programs in order to deal with a rather large threat to our world. These programs are called Vitmons and have taken on a life of their own. By agreeing to work for VITCO, you agree to create, raise, fuse, breed, evolve, train, and battle with these Vitmons. Seem like a little much for you? Here, I'll break it down.
You and your teammates, other skilled hackers, will be raising a group of these Vitmons together. Although you won't control these programs directly, you will be capable of giving them orders together. Instead of having one Vitmon each, you will be assigned a group for your group. You can give commands to any of the Vitmons your group has assigned, but so can your teammates. Hopefully you can get along. Keep in mind that if you're idling too much, the Vitmon programs might respond to one of your teammates first before you.
Let's get the basics of Vitmons out of the way. Vitmons come in eight different elements. Fire, Water, Electric, Earth, Wind, Plant, Light, and Dark. Sometimes they can even have combinations of certain elements. Normally the elements beat each other like this.
Water > Fire > Plant > Wind > Earth > Electric > Water
Light >< Dark
However, things get slightly more complicated when there's dual typing involved. But we won't get into that now. That's a bridge to cross when we get there. Anyhow, Vitmons also contain components called Stats. These determine their strength in fighting other programs and viruses. Even other hackers at times. These stats are as follows.
HP (Health Points): How much damage a Vitmon can take before being deleted or corrupted
DP (Digital Points): How much energy can be used to perform certain functions before needing recharging
Strength: The "physical" strength of your Vitmon. Corresponds to moves of the "physical" variety.
Magic: The "magical" strength of your Vitmon. Corresponds to moves of the "magical" variety.
Defense: The "physical" defense of your Vitmon. Protects against moves of the "physical" variety.
Resistance: The "magical" defense of your Vitmon. Protects against moves of the "magical" variety.
Speed: The speed at which your Vitmon processes and operates. Determines what program will move in what order.
Dexterity: The accuracy and precision at which your Vitmon processes and operates. Determines how often your program will land "critical hits" and can enhance certain moves.
Luck: A value that is difficult to define, but can be measured somehow. Determines your program's defense against abnormal statuses and can enhance certain moves.
Next, let's go on to talk about raising Vitmons. Vitmons have five stages of growth and development. As they go up in stages, they will change and develop. This can change their stats, element, and appearance. When a Vitmon is ready to undergo a stage change, we call it evolution. When a Vitmon is ready to evolve, you will have to add new data to it. We'll explain adding Vitmon data once you get here as it's easier to do than to learn.
Before your Vitmon can evolve, however, it must battle and raise its level. Vitmons are built under a special AI program that learns from doing. A level helps to gauge how much it has learned. Keep in mind, however, that once a Vitmon has been deleted or corrupted, its data cannot be restored. Try to avoid losing battles for this reason.
Anyway, when your Vitmons aren't deployed, they will be in the Main Console, which essentially functions as their home. While in the Main Console, your Vitmons can train to raise stats, learn new moves, and so on. We'll explain in greater detail once you join.
That should be all for now. Oh, and please fill out the form that we're sending you now. And remember, if you don't join, you'll be turned in, you dirty criminal, you~!
