WELCOME TO THE DIMENSION GATE!
Now I'm sure you have many questions, so let's get to the basics. Here's what you need to know.
What is a Dimension Gate?
This is the Dimension Gate! Using the Dimension Gate, you can travel to various games or worlds or dimensions or something. You can call it anything, really. I'm sure you're wondering what makes this different from a normal Vitcon game though. Well it's very different! The most obvious thing is probably the prominent use of Arena Coins. In order to enter a certain gate, you have to pay a specified number of coins. However, once you've paid, you can use that gate as many times as you like! That's not all though. You can earn Arena Coins in these worlds! Not only this, but you can also carry over any inventory you have from one gate to the other as it will be attached to your profile! Every world follows its own rules and such, but they're all connected by the inventory you carry! Some worlds will even allow you to carry over other things you may have earned such as stats.
Spending Arena Coins?
That's right. The main currency in these worlds is Arena Coins. I know you may be concerned about spending them, but do not fear! You can earn coins in these worlds as well! As I said before, the main currency in these worlds IS Arena Coins! How you earn them will vary from world to world, but I guarantee you will be able to earn them somehow in each world. Keep in mind that spending coins in these worlds may also be a solid investment as you will be able to carry over your inventories to other worlds. It's up to you to balance your spending and earning!
How Do Gates Work?
When you find a gate that interests you, you will simply post in the information thread for that gate, stating that you want to gain access to it. The coins you spend will be moved directly from your account to the gate owner's. That's right! If you make a gate that's interesting and gathers the attention of others, you can also earn Arena Coins from it! However, if you gain a bad reputation of never updating your gates, you may have less users interested. This should encourage gate owners and game owners to update regularly! Keep in mind that transactions within the game itself between NPCs will not have this affect. Only the initial payment for gate access will go directly to the gate owner's account.
Can I Get a Gate?
Of course! Anyone can receive a gate! Simply go to the Gate Request Counter and submit the proper forms for it. Your gate will be set up shortly afterward. There is a small Arena Coin fee that must be paid to create a gate to make sure you aren't simply flooding the Dimension Gate and trying to make a ton of coins without updating. More information on creating and maintaining your own gate can be found at the Gate Request Counter.
Inactivity?
In order to ensure Dimension Gates are running smoothly, there will be some precautions in place to deal with inactivity. If at any point, a player wishes to leave the gate they are currently in either because the moderator is inactive or they simply don't want to be there anymore, they only need to tag a Vitcon moderator to notify them and type the word "Eject". They will be ejected from that gate immediately and leave that world. Players can return to the world after ejecting if they wish. The Eject function is simply to make sure you aren't wasting one of your slots for maximum number of worlds you can be in at once. If a player is inactive for at least a day without warning, the gate owner may tag them to try and get their attention. After three days of inactivity without warning, the player may be forcefully ejected from the gate by the owner. If gate owners are caught making multiple gates and avoiding updating them, they may receive an arena coin penalty, subtracted from their account and added to their players' accounts.
What Transfers Between Gates?
Two things will always transfer no matter what gates you are going between. Your inventory and your Arena Coins. You will always keep those two things. Some gates may allow things such as stats, skills, classes, etc. to transfer as well. It can vary between worlds and depends not only on the gate owners, but also how well those things transfer. If you have ideas or questions about transfers, make sure to ask the gate owners about it.
How Many Gates Can I Be In At Once?
You can be in three different gates at once. If you want to be in another gate while you're in three, you'll have to eject out of one to do so. You can always return to a gate you have left later.
If you have any questions that were not answered here, feel free to ask them yourself in this thread.
