Yoshi runs over and kicks one of the Goblins over for 5 damage before Crow charges into them, knocking them out with 2 damage. The Goblin dissolves away in a shadowy mist. The remaining Goblin runs over and punches Malefio, dealing 1 damage. Malefio tries to create ice around its feet, but it seems he hasn't learned any skills yet. Instead, he just punches the Goblin, dealing 1 damage.

Yoshi runs over to the last goblin and smacks him with a spinning kick, launching the goblin away and defeating it. It drops a few coins and the party is rewarded with two each. As they finish the battle, another flash of light appears and mrfuzz111 falls out. It seems he was summoned here too. With the goblins gone, the Goblin Leader seems unable to have any other choice than to fight you. The girl he's carrying shouts and flails around before he places her in an overly convenient cage, preparing to fight the party. Well the first thing to do is probably stand up because I doubt I landed on my feet, then stab the Goblin Leader. "So do you guys have no idea what we're doing here either, or is it just me who's out of the loop?"

Fuzz asks everyone what's going on, but receives no answer as they all charge at the Goblin Leader. Yoshi runs over and tries to kick the leader, but he puts a shield up and blocks against the attack, receiving only 1 damage. Fuzz prepares to stab the Goblin Leader before realizing his inventory is empty. That's...inconvenient. If only there were a vending machine somewhere that could...well, now isn't the time for that. Fuzz stabs the Goblin with his fist! However, the attack is blocked and the Goblin Leader receives 1 damage. Crow and Malefio run in, kicking the Goblin Leader for 1 damage each. The Goblin Leader lifts his sword up and looks ready to strike back!

"Pffft, what're ya gonna do? Sword me? Maybe I'd be worried if you were... pretty much anything but a goblin."

Kick his sword upwards so he either falls with it thanks to the momentum or has to drop it which means the sword will be sent flying

You would have started with weapons, skills, armor, and all that IF you've played another Dimension Gate before. But since this is your first, you start with nothing! All Dimension Gates start you off with nothing until you get a little further. It's actually kind of fun. Like you have nothing, but you cumulate all your stuff you can bring with you everywhere. That's also why I added the vending machine. I figured it would be a good compromise. Since players all start out with nothing, it's fair. And since you can carry over whatever you've earned elsewhere, I've determined it fair. I also decided if you wanted to spend a few extra coins to start out with something, that's fine too. Of course, after this first boss, you'll have access to shops and stuff. I didn't expect you to play the entire game with absolutely nothing. But you will have to spend coins either way since the equipment you can buy at the shops cost coins. I made it so that you had to earn coins first in the case of someone spending all their coins on their entrance into the gate. Then they would earn coins by fighting through the first stage. Then they would have coins to spend for equipment and skills. Or they could keep them and continue to the next stage with nothing if they really wanted to do that. Part of the game is finding a good way to balance out your resources so that you aren't spending all your coins, but you are spending enough to continue and get more coins.
