Zenia pulls her other hand out of her cloak, revealing an Alchemist's glove.  That's right, more experienced adventurers sometimes learn skills from other classes.  An unlucky Hexer doesn't make much sense, but if she specializes in debuff skills and-

"Burn."  Zenia grabs one of the rats and unleashes a plume of fire.  The rat disintegrates.  Mathilda rubs her eyes as she wakes up, then thrusts her pitchfork by Zenia to poke one of the rats.  Gavin rushes the other rat, slashing it twice.  With the last of its strength, it bites Draxia.  She bashes it to death with her staff.  The last rat leaps at DEADLIFE, but he sidesteps and slashes it to death.

Zenia looks around the room, her oversized glove at the ready.  "...Clear." She's right.  It looks like that's it for the enemies.

Well, that went well.  You didn't even get the medicine you hoped to find.  Your disappointment must be obvious, because Zenia offers some words of encouragement.  "Risks in the labyrinth don't always pay off."  She notices another sack in the corner.  "...Hm?"  She pokes it open with her staff to reveal a few useful items.  There's a Nectar and a pair of Amritas.

Nectar: Revive a party member with low HP

Amrita: Restore a small amount of TP to a party member

Zenia looks a bit disappointed.  She doesn't seem interested, like she was hoping to find something else.  She pushes them towards the others.  "You can share these."

You'll need to decide which pair gets the nectar and which gets the amritas.  Meanwhile, Zenia creeps around the rest of the store.


Kitty

Sol quickly casts a spell on Alice to heal her wounds. "I've got you."

"How could you pick on a little kid!?"  Sam uses Front Guard.

"Ow! I... I told you not to be mean to me...!"  Alice's eyes glow with blue fire as she takes up her sword, coating it in ice before striking at the Wild Dog.  One of the squirrels attacks Alice again, but Sam jumps in the way.  Wolf lunges forward, thrusting his spear into the Wild Dog.  The other squirrel drops down on Sol, and the dog leaps at Sam.

Luna creates a Poison Circle on the ground with her magic.  "This should help."  It catches one of the squirrels and the dog.

Sol's magic takes effect again and heals the rest of Alice's wounds.

Everyone stands around silently.  Aria looks between the different party members with a quizzical smile on her face.  "So...  I take it you want me to go first?  Well, that's fine."

Aria casually walks up to the front gate.  "Hello?" she calls up.  "Hello-o-o-o?"

Two people come out on the balcony of the lighthouse.  One's a male Yggdroid Yggdroid.  He's wearing a ragged, damaged outfit that makes it look like he's been here a while.  The other's a female Birdfolk.  She looks a bit older, middle-aged, and is wearing a military uniform and holding a bow.

The Yggdroid disappears inside.  You can hear heavy metallic footsteps clambering down the stairs.  Meanwhile, the Birdfolk drops down, spreading her wings to glide and land beside the gate.  "What are you doing here?" she demands.  "Could you not read our signal to stay away, or are you just idiots!?"  She looks between the members of the party.

Finn smirks.
"Well that's an awfully rude way to treat your rescue party, don't you think? As we speak the others should be working on cleaning out the monsters in town and finding more survivors."
"Speaking of survivors," Peri interjects, "I don't suppose you've seen an older gentleman around here, have you? He's a Birdfolk with gray feathers, probably has a cane and is wearing a nice suit?"

(Again the previous post is null in void. I refuse to respond to characters or peoples that are major a**holes for no reason at all or for the sake of being a**holes. Fix it however you want Crow.)

Blood, Mal

You hear rummaging from under a counter.  Zenia's backside is poking out as she throws a few objects out from underneath.  She crawls back out, clutching a small tin to her chest with a soft smile.  It looks like some kind of... tea?

She looks between the two groups and nods at Draxia.  "Yes.  Take the Amritas.  You're more likely to run out of stamina."  She turns to Mathilda and crouches down just enough to look her in the eye.  "And you're more likely to die."  She doesn't say it maliciously, she's just stating a fact.  "...I hear battle to the north.  That would be... Sam's group.  Hm.  Odd.  He had to have gone the other way."  She looks north and south, trying to decide which way to go.


Kitty

"I've got you!" Sam says.  He casts Cure on Wolf.

"Go away!" Alice swings her blade at one of the Flying Squirrels.
  The squirrel bashes her on the head like the big meanie it is.  The other drops down on Sam.

"This is your end!" Wolf thrusts his spear into the Wild Dog.  It drops dead.

"Begone!" Sol smacks the Flying Squirrel that hurt Alice with his staff.

"Just die already." Luna hits it again.  It drops dead.  The circle takes effect on the last squirrel.

"Charge!" Sam orders.  He whacks the last squirrel with his sword.  Alice runs past him to finish it off.

That seems like all the monsters.  You look around for a moment to make sure, but nothing else pops out...

Sam sheathes his sword, then turns to pat Alice on the head again.  "You did a good job!"

Now, which way to go...?  There should be a way to open that shortcut southeast, probably.  Or... back to the west?


Fuzz, X

"Huh."  The Birdfolk looks Peri up and down.  "Yeah, I can see the resemblance.  He was here a while ago, but the stubborn old coot wandered off into the labyrinth.  Against my advice, I might add."  She cocks her head at Finn.  "And they won't be finding many survivors, Boyo.  Maybe a few Yggdroids or Deep Ones.  Pretty much everyone else ends up wandering off into the woods.  Or getting ate up by monsters.  Or wandering into the woods and then getting eaten."

The Yggdroid finally finishes making his way down the stairs to join you.  "They're here for rescue efforts?"

"Yep, that's us!" Aria answers.  "We're a buncha big damn heroes, y'know?"

"Buncha big dumb heroes, gotcha."  This Birdfolk lady is really rude.  At the very least, she seems upset.

Terry and Allure get into an argument about a stuffed animal, and everyone watches quietly.

The Birdfolk rolls her eyes at Terry.  "I'd be more grateful if you weren't all just a bunch of morons here to die alongside us.  You should've taken our warning to turn around.  Not that it's going to let any of them get away.  You were already dead the moment you saw the tree.  Now you're all just more mouths for us to try to feed until we all inevitably starve or get overrun!"

Aria clears her throat.  "...We're supposed to find survivors, as well as whatever's launching those monster nuts.  And destroy them."

"Y'ain't going to be able to take down the launchers with just yourselves," the Birdfolk says.

The Yggdroid stares at Terry, then Allure, then Finn, then Peri.  "Understood.  We'll escort you to the survivor's hideout.  Let's move out."

"Oh...  That's really helpful!" Aria says.  She gives the Yggdroid a friendly smile.  You notice she subtly cuts her eyes at the Birdfolk.  You get the impression they don't much like each other.  Do you want to go along with him...?  Or go re-join the others?
