You have gushed over this game many times. Suffice to say, I strongly disagree with your take on it, Earthbound, and their relative quality. My take-away from my experiences with LISA are that it veers into edgelord material.

I have "Gushed" Over it because it is, despite its "Quality" a very well made game (By the way, it's very immature to judge a book by it's cover, especially one you haven't read.) You obviously haven't played it yet. And calling it "Edgelord material" is a massive generalization, you are putting into a group of cheesy gory fanfiction and gothic bullshit that it doesn't deserve to be put in. But obviously you haven't bothered to really look into it or you would be able to actually see it for what it is. Anything that isn't happy or generally your definition of a "Quality" Game is put into genre of "Edgy" Which in my opinion is absolute bullshit because it really doesn't mean anything at all and is once again, a massive over generalization for any sort of dark or non-cheery material. |

I am sorry if I offended you with my statement. For sure, there is a lot that LISA does right, and the production quality is worlds above the kind of material you think I am connecting it to. It is quite well put together. However, I have looked into it, spent a decent amount of time reading about the characters and story. I'm just not a fan of the way it's all 'oh everything's miserable, fuck everything, everyone's on fucked up drugs, suicide and abuse as drama, the world is dying and there's only one woman left, betrayal is inevitable, mutants and horridness and eternal hell forever'. There's plenty of dark material that I think is good, but the particular brand in LISA is not what I'm into in the slightest.

I'm simply a bit irate that it's being put in a group that it really doesn't deserve to be put in. And yes, it is really dark, but there is hope, to, and really great story to it all if you take the time to look through all of the dark and morbid shit. It's really hard to explain, but the dark morbid shit isn't what LISA is really about, it's just part of the experience, if you understand what I mean... |
