When you wake up the next morning, there's a thick, thick fog, enough that you can barely see a few feet ahead of you. The wind is cool, and blowing harder than usual. Even with the strong wind, the fog only seems to be getting thicker. Watching out the window, you think you see strange shapes moving faintly, distantly through the fog. Maybe it's just a trick of the light... But that text last night makes you not so sure.

And something feels wrong. Every few minutes, you feel an overwhelming presence, and a distant, faint shockwave. Faint enough you can't tell if it's just your imagination the first few times. But soon you're sure.

News reports about the fog are all over the news, with officials recommending everyone stay indoors. Many local businesses and schools are announcing late openings today, under the assumption the fog will clear.

Mareena did say to meet in the park this morning... but...
