Mattea shrugs. "If it's not your thing, you don't need to force yourself. It could be fun to do together, but we're not fused at the hip or anything."
The waiters bring out the food and sets it out for you, making sure everything is just so before Mattea dismisses him with a nod. She doesn't hesitate to take a bite of her pasta and her eyes light up. "Fantastic. Oh, I wish I could cook this well..."

Tai shrugs. He eats the food slowly and neatly, not pigging out. After chewing a mouthful he swallows and says, "Pretty good. Nice sized portion too. Not a rip off like some of those really high-end places." He eats some more.

Tai nods. After chewing all the food in his mouth, he responds. "That's unexpectedly, *gasp* nice of you." He gives a slight smirk. " But that would probably make him happy."

"Don't get it twisted." Mattea stabs her fork into the air to punctuate her words. "You have to be 'nice' to people when they're nice to you, or they might stop. And when people are dicks, be a dick back. Unless you really need something from them. It's just that simple."
You spend some more time eating before the waiter returns. "Is everything to your liking? Can I get you anything else?"

"Oh? Sure. We'll split a lava cake," Mattea says. The waiter is quick to return with a small black cake and two forks. Mattea daintily slices it open and hot, bubbling chocolate comes leaking out to cover the rest of the cake. "God, that looks good. I don't think I could eat a whole one myself. Mmm that's... thick. Wow. Try some."

"Yeah... Too bad I can't eat it every day. It's not exactly something you can get anywhere, and making it's a bit beyond me. And even if I could, if I ate it every day I'd get fat. Ugh." She sighs, frowns, then grins. "I was planning to drag Alice to the drama club tomorrow... But maybe we should hit up the soccer club instead, hm?"
Before you can answer, the waiter comes by and drops off the bill.

Tai internally sighs. He knew it'd be pricy. Well, he was lucky he had been saving his money regularly. This would definitely dent his savings though.
"Yeah, soccer works. Gotta beat Freya afterall. Or some shit like that." He smirks nervously, hoping she didn't notice anythign concernign the price.

Mattea pretends not to notice anything going on with the check and continues the conversation as if nothing is happening. "Maybe I'll see you there, then. But I'd need to pick an outfit. Did you have anything else planned for the evening? If not, maybe we can head back to my place and you can help me pick something... then help me back out of it?"
The waiter returns your bill and change, pretending that he didn't hear that last bit.
