"Yeah, the bear. That sounds about right." Aron scratches the back of his head. "Definitely not a stray, though. It had some weird plant things that looked like they moved on their own. It's a neat promotional stunt, but it's weird that people are so tight-lipped about it, you know?"

You make your way out into the city.  The binoculars are an optimistic pick, for sure, but maybe the fog will get clearer later?  You decide your priority should be finding the source of the tremors, so you make your way downtown.  As you get further into the city proper, you start to notice something subtle.  There seems to be more than one source of tremors.  And they seem to be moving, slowly, pulsing in turns.  With that realization... the obvious thing to do is head towards the closest one, of course.  You try to ignore the monstrous sounds whispering from the fog.  And, for the most part, you do.

And then one of the few passing cars screeches to a halt.  The driver jumps out of the door and breaks into a run, then you hear a loud crushing sound as the car is smashed.

A massive, purple snake retrieves the tail it just used to crush the vehicle, coiling back, tongue flicking, as it turns to face you.

Something big, much bigger than a person, definitely not Alice... Jumping up and down causing tremors? And why are there angels guarding it...?

Nora uses her superior speed and maneuverability to immediately turn on a dime and fly away from the angels at top speed. She heads closer to the ground, searching for a safe spot to meet the others, and then she calls Tom on her phone while still in the air.

"It's Malatyne. Sorry for earlier, I'll apologize proper later once we're safe. I've got info to share, and a place that should be safe to meet. Sending you location via text."

She hangs up, and quickly texts Tom the location of a back alley not far from the source of the tremors with enough cover to take shelter in. And currently no sign of monsters. Smell was pretty gross, though. Nora lands and stays in a very shadowy spot, keeping her back pressed against the wall. She stays alert for sounds and keeps her wings loose, ready to burst into the sky again at any time.

You take cover in an alley. The angels fly after you, but lose track in the fog. A few moments later, you hear the sound of large wings flapping, followed by crashing and slamming noises. Peeking out, you can just make out a larger, multi-winged angel crushing the last of the smaller ones with a mace before flying off again.

The sound of the tremors draws closer, just as predicted. The others arrive just in time. Tom, Sword-Shield, Tia, and the armor with the Staff.

One of the missing armors arrives, carrying a greatsword, a bit behind the others. "There's reinforcements on the way, but since we're spread so thin I figured I should join your group for a bit to help, hm? But for now we have to make due with what we have. Malatyne, dear, could you, Chief, Alpha, and Sappho deal with the big nasty creature while the two of us keep the lesser ones at bay?" They grab Staff and move to block the road.

The source of the tremors comes into view, a truck-sized tower that's making large leaps in straight lines down the roads. A group of fiery, goblin-looking archers man its battlements, snarling and growling as the tower lands.

You roundhouse kick the giant snake in the face. It flinches, recoils, stunned momentarily. Then it lets out a loud hiss and bares its fangs for another lunge.

"ROUNDHOUSE KICK!" a female voice echoes. A full-grown woman leaps out of the fog, mirroring your attack and slamming the snake in the side of the head. The reaction is a bit more extreme as the snake's entire body twists sideways before launching off to the side with a skidding noise. The woman, wearing some weird martial arts outfit and a bandana over her face, takes a fighting stance between you and the monster. "Stay behind me and be ready to make a run for it... Wait, are you who I think you are?" She sighs, then takes a key from her sleeve and tosses it to you. "I was told I should give this to you. Use it, but stay close."

The snake shakes itself off and starts slithering up for another round.

Aron takes the key, looking increasingly more confused. In a flash of light, he appears... more or less exactly the same. Did his beard get thicker? He's wearing shades now...

"Why do my pockets feel heavy?" Aron asks, grasping a chunk of silver putty in his hand. "...Play-d--?" He sniffs it, then his jaw drops, shades falling slightly off balance.

"YOOOO! This stuff's friggin' dangerous!" He exclaims. He pulls a tiny electronic device into his other hand. "Lemme just... try to figure out..."

Forming the puddy into a ball and snapping the device on causes it to beep and flash a red light. "Oh, crap..."

Nora grits her teeth and flies lower, using the tower itself and downward angle of the shots the Goblins would have to take to give her more cover. She then casts Spring Deluge, summoning a rainshower to damage the goblins and bathe the ground around the tower in water. With her Krakken now having a better advantage, Nora begins to cast Diamond Dust.

Acting on instinct and a gamble, Nora takes out the anti-vagus dagger she got during the big tree battle and charges at the core, flying and spinning like a living missile, stabbing it with the dagger with all her momentum behind it.
