"That is the idea, yes," she says. "Fine, hold it back for a bit... Flaming Lash!" She punches the air and a flaming lasso shoots from her fist, latching onto the giant snake. She yanks and sends herself flying at it, flipping and dropping her heel into its skull in an axe kick. The snake flattens, then whips its tail and smashes her into the ground, as well.

You arrive at Vitcorp, pulling into the underground lot. Alice's mom ambushes you as soon as the car parks. She grabs Alice and pulls her into a hug with her good arm, the other still resting in a sling. "Alice! Oh, I was so worried..." She glances over at you. "Oh, Nora. Good to see you, as well. Thanks for watching over my sweetie yesterday."

Nora smiles. Her long dark hair is pulled over her shoulders in twin braids, and she's wearing her good jacket over a white blouse and dark purple skirt that comes down to just above her knees. Instead of her normal heels, she's wearing jet black running shoes.
"You're welcome, but there's no need to thank me, really. Of course I'm going to watch out for her and take care of her. And she does the same for me."

Marin lets Alice go and takes a step back. She folds her arms, winces, then adjusts her un-slinged arm. "Hm. If you say so." She quietly observes you both for a moment. "Well, I won't get in the way of whatever you two have planned today. But I'm going to bake a nice dinner for later."
"That... sounds nice," Alice says.
"If you don't want to come upstairs, I can have it brought down to the conference room. Oh! And almost no one came in today what with all the weird stuff yesterday. It's a skeleton crew, so don't worry about getting anyone's way."
"What do we have planned..." Alice mutters. "I... guess a game of chess would be nice."

Marin raises her eyebrow at Nora. "Well, you two just remember to behave yourselves."
"M-mom!" Alice protests. She grabs Nora and storms off to her makeshift room. When you get inside, you can see it still in a state of partial disarray from yesterday. A few things are knocked aside, some clothes are lying out, and her bed is unmade. It looks like someone had gone through and cleaned the worst of the mess, with a few items stacked neatly in the corner ready to be put back in place.
"Ah... I forgot I'd made such a mess when... it happened the other day..." Alice continues to blush. "Um... Give me a few minutes to find the chess set and clear some space... I-I think there's a feather duster around here, somewhere..." She laughs nervously.

Nora smiles and pats her on the shoulder. "Breathe, dear. Let me help."
She moves past Alice and starts to tidy up the room, starting by picking things up that were knocked over or down. She pointedly leaves the clothes where they are in an effort to not fluster Alice anymore than she already is, but she does make the bed in a remarkably efficient- and expedient- manner.

You and Alice split the task of cleaning. She manages to keep up with Nora surprisingly well, considering. Actually, Nora notices she seems to be moving a lot better than usual. Her injuries don't seem to be slowing her down as much. She also doesn't seem to particularly notice the clothes on the floor until she notices Nora avoiding them, at which point she hastily scoops them up and throws them into a makeshift closet. You can't help but notice a collection of stuffed animals inside...
You spend most of the morning helping clean.

By lunchtime, the two rooms are mostly clean. Probably cleaner than before, actually. And the missing chess set has been found.

Nora yawns and stretches. "Ah, there we go, much better. I noticed your injuries aren't bothering you as much today. I'm glad."
She gives Alice a hug and a quick peck on the cheek, then moves towards the kitchen. "Why don't you get the chess board setup while I see about lunch, hm?"

You head to the kitchen to try to put something together when you feel Alice grab you from behind in a hug. After a few seconds she lets you go without saying anything and goes back to the chess set.
There's not many ingredients to cook, but you're able to make some simple sandwiches, which Alice seems to enjoy. When you're finished, she takes the plates and heads to the sofa instead of the table. "Well? You won our last chess game, so..." She produces a feather duster and hands it to you. "Get it over with so we can have a proper match."

Nora grins. "Oh, my. Someone's feeling bold."
The tickling begins slowly, starting with Alice's legs and slowly, gently working up. Once the giggling starts, Nora amps up the tickling, then suddenly stops and leans over to give Alice a deep, long kiss.
Afterwards, she sits down across from Alice, crossing her legs and wiggling her fingers. "Now I'm ready."

You head downtown and make your way to Vitcorp, clinging to your drawings. The city seems to be recovering, again. And quickly. Cars are already back on the roads, the buses are running. A lot of stores are closed, but some have signs advertising that they are, in fact, open. But there are some police patrolling in small groups. Which is unusual.
You find Jimmy waiting outside the Vitcorp building, dressed in a ragged jacket. He's leaning against one of the walls and ignoring all the dirty looks coming his way. When he notices you, he waves awkwardly.
Nora
It doesn't take much to get Alice giggling. She seems surprised by the kiss, then pouts afterward. "Again...? You're going to pay for that later."
She sets out the rules for your next chess match, expecting to make good on that threat. But she does not. Early in the match, distracted by some pokes in response to trading her bishop, her hand slips as she moves her queen. She drops it well out of position. She stares at it in disbelief for a moment before she starts to pout. "Ugh. Stupid... careless. Just... You know. Get it over with, again."
With a free queen, the match suddenly swings heavily in Nora's favor. Alice struggles playing catchup, but never even comes close to threatening you. She seems frustrated after. "That was so dumb of me. I've been studying your old matches, I should have finally had you... Why do I keep choking every time?" She frowns. "It's not like me to catch nerves."

"It's really not," Nora agrees. "If I still had my old skills, that would be one thing, but I don't. I'm knocking a good bit of the rust off, but you're still overall the better player between us. I shouldn't be winning nearly as much as I am."
She leans back, thoughtful. "I'm not even really trying to get into your head or anything. Is it because of all the bets we make? Is all the tickling throwing you off more than we thought?"
She smiles. "I do so very enjoy hearing you giggle, but seeing you frustrated like this... not so much. What if we simply try having a normal match? No stakes, no tickling, no rushing... Just a relaxing, casual match."

Alice folds her arm and pouts harder. "You won because I fumbled my queen so early. You just happened to poke the wrong spot at the right time. N-not that I'm ticklish or anything." Alice shifts around a bit before pulling herself up. She paces back and forth around the table. "But taking it easier... Ugh. It really, really isn't like me to get nerves! And I want my revenge, dammit! I'd probably be more annoyed winning with no stakes. Besides, it's more my style to force my way through this sort of... problem..."
Alice stops, silent for a moment. "So why the fuck am I not doing that..." She looks around, then disappears into her room for a few minutes, closing the door behind her. She reappears with a small bag, then grabs the feather duster and tosses it in. She holds out her hand. "Come with me," she commands, sounding far more confident suddenly.
Leia
"A bunch of bullshit... pardon my language," Jimmy says. "...You're not allowed to watch the news? That's, uh... Anyway. They're trying to sell a bunch of crap about freak weather and a bunch of damage from high winds and hail. And some animals driven into the city by the intense... stuff. And no one's buying it. Hell - Heck, I have pictures of some of those... weird... monster things playing around in the mist." Jimmy adjusts his hat and pulls it over his eyes, clearly flustered. "Not that any of the news outlets would take them, there's some kind of cover-up over all this. But like I said, no one's buying it. No one with a brain, anyway. They had a big meeting at the mayor office and a bunch of people were asking about the police and their weird... stuff. I dunno."
Dewey
You get off the bus close to the train tracks and Mareena turns to the dump. Which isn't great, you can smell it from here. And you aren't exactly dressed for this. Neither is she, but to your relief she at least produces a pair of flats to wear. She points to a large crack in the fence and pulls it aside, revealing a gap you could easily slip through.
"So anyway, we're alone for a bit. Some others are going to join us to help later. They already know about the Overworld stuff so you can ask general questions, but if you have anything particularly personal to ask, now's the time."
