"Hello. What's all this about looking for ghosts yesterday?"

"Um...I picked up piano when I was little. So around eight. And I started making covers two or three years ago. That's when I learned to use computers to change sounds and edit videos and stuff. Sometimes I upload my covers. They're still not...very...good...I could do better..."

"I feel like we're getting off track here with that last sentence. Does this person you invited already know about what we're doing, or were you planning to tell her at the last minute?"

Levi

"Oh, I dunno," Tom says. He seems a bit embarrassed. "I've got stuff I do for fun, but nothing I'm really into. And nothing, y'know, impressive like that."


Dewey

"No, Somnis. My thirst... is infinite. The ocean itself could not hope to quench me. Besides, she's really cute. You should s- wait, are you saying you're interested in me?" Kiran asks.

"Past tense." Somnis folds her arms over her chest.

You cut in and point out how unhelpful this situation is. And ask if Kiran's already told her.

He shakes his head. "Nah. I'm just gonna scoop her up all dramatic and stuff and chuck her into a portal, same as you." Such a flippant response...

Levi

"I dunno.  You say anyone can do it, but I'm kind of tone-deaf.  I guess it wouldn't hurt to try sometime.  Well... maybe not for the next few days."  Tom sighs.  His state of dejection visibly returns.

But you still feel a bit closer to him.

Just tell Kiran "I suddenly feel so much closer to you and I don't know why."

Kiran is oblivious.

Somnis glares with you.

Tia smiles joyfully, buried in the warm sand.

Kiran pats her head.

Other people start showing up around dinner.  Some of them you expected would be here.  Morgan, Tai.  Some of them, not so much.  Are they... all here for this?  It seems unlikely that they would come to the beach today at this time without a good reason.


Leia

You stop to check on your cat.  He stares down at you from a perch on top of the shower head.  He doesn't bolt this time, but he stays safely out of reach.

When you get to the beach, Natsumi waves you down.  "Hello, Leia!  I am very glad you came tonight.  Um...  Yeah!  I think everyone's just hanging out until the big thing I wanted to show you around midnight."


Tai

Man, there sure are a lot of good-looking girls around.  And guys.  Buttons is here in a swimsuit and his cowl, but he's...  He doesn't have a shredded six-pack or anything, but you're surprised how muscular he is.  And looking at Natsumi in her two-piece, you can't help but notice she's a bit... larger than when you were trying to use her as a model the other day.  Not that...  I mean, it's just that it's enough of a difference that you're surprised!  It's, y'know, a mystery.  That's the only reason you notice.  Curiosity.  Whether you're dumb enough to bring it up or not will have to wait for another day.

But of course she doesn't compare to Mattea, who's mysteriously shown up in a string bikini and a see-through lacy cover around her waist.  She seems to be avoiding most people, and stalks over to you.  "Hey.  Didn't expect to see you of all people hanging out here."  She spends the wait time hanging out with you.  And explains that Alice basically blackmailed her into coming tonight.  "She said this was some kind of secret student council president responsibility.  She just gave me this key and told me to head to the beach.  I wasn't going to come, but... tch...  She's been saving a piece of ammunition through 3 damn years of us bickering with each other.  If she's threatening to use it, this must be pretty serious."


Morgan

Somnis is here!  And Tia's head!  Oh, no!  Wait, she's smiling and talking.  Oh, OK.  She's just buried in the sand.


Arcadia

When you get there, you track down Kiran easy enough.  He tells you the main event kicks off at midnight.  "Hope you don't have too early a bedtime," he teases.


Everybody

Some people chat, some people stay off on their own.  But people just kind of treat it like the world's most awkward beach party until almost midnight.
