Morgan, Levi

Levi screams at the enemies really, really loud. They scream right back at him, but they seem to be a bit confused by all the sounds bouncing around and only one manages to hit him.

Morgan blindly fires at the mass of enemies and bullets rain down around them. The revolver ring spins and shells go falling to the ground with a satisfying clattering sound.

The bats all look pretty seriously injured. Levi's fine, more surprised than really hurt.

Tom steps forward to join in, but Alice places a hand on his shoulder to hold him back. She shakes her head. "This is good practice for them. Hey, you two! These guys are weak, so try to finish them off yourselves! Don't worry, we're here if things turn south."

Dewey, Tai

Leia, Vincent

Vincent plays a note and a bubble of water forms around the girl. She starts trying to swim out. Clothes shoot from Leia's arms and wrap her up. She starts flailing and panicking.

"You're looking at the wrong one!" Vincent notices the guy moving beside him just in time to see the shovel bash him in the face. It hurts. Which is strange. Not that it hurts, of course it did - but a blow like that should've killed him. The guy stares Vincent, his eyes glowing in the pitch-black of his cowl. "Man, bullying an injured girl. That's low, even for you Vitcronies. We're in a rush tonight and don't have time to go easy on you, so you should seriously just back off."

The girl calms down inside her water prison. She manages to twitch her rod, pointing it towards Leia. A pale-blue ghost appears on the girl's shoulder, holding a knife. Leia notices a matching ghost on her own shoulder. The ghosts stab them in the hearts at the same time. It hurts, but only a little - there's no wound. But suddenly Leia feels overwhelmed with emotion, fear and panic. And she feels like she can't move, as if she's wrapped up, too.

The girl and Vincent are injured. Leia is lightly injured. The girl and Leia are Ensnared and Slowed.

Karl

You stumble into the mall. Everything looks, as far as Karl can tell, absolutely normal. Other than the fact there are three people cosplaying in dorky outfits and fighting some kind of weird guys dressed as mannequins.

Naptime.

Tai looks at Dewey with a look that days,"really?". He sighs and grabs the guns at his hips, twirls them a bit, then aims them both towards one of the mannequins.

He feels an instinct take control within him and he uses Bloody Blasters on the foe.

Dewey holds up his book. It hovers in front of him and opens to a blank page. As he points it at a mannequin, words begin to fill in.

"Prideful Charlatan.
Element: Soul.
Threat Level: D.
Weakness: Celestial, Fire, Earth.
Resistance: Soul, Plant, Electricity.

As the monsters draw closer, Kiran flicks his wand. Large black boxes appear, covering him and one of the creatures. Thin, ghostly swords appear around his box, then all stab it together. Both boxes snap open, and the mannequin is revealed, stabbed several times. Kiran steps out of the other box with a flourish of his cape. "Ta-dah!"

All the mannequins applaud politely, including the one that's impaled - until Tai shoots it with red-streaking bullets. It falls apart, leaving a pool of... blood...

The other two mannequins shriek and attack. One slashes Kiran. He shrugs it off with ease. The other spins between Tai and Dewey, hitting them both. Tai doesn't feel particularly hurt, but Dewey can tell that did some decent damage to him.

Naptime.

Tai concentrates, searching within himself. He keeps his eyes on the enemies, alert, yet looks for a place in his mind. Easy as riding a bike, right? Or stealing one.

Tai echaled softly, letting himself breathe. He aims one gun towards an enemy, and a glowing light-green pentagra appears in front on Tai's gun.

"Hell's Breeze!" He hears himself shout.

Levi, Morgan

Levi unleashes another shriek full of flames. The bats screech. This time, two fire at the source of the sound, blasting Levi hard enough to knock the wind out of him. The last bat floats down and latches onto Morgan's shoulder, sinking its fangs into her neck and sucking away.

Morgan fires up into the air again. It's enough to kill the other two bats, but the one on her neck seems to have healed itself and hangs on, still draining her. It's... doing a lot of damage...

"Tom!" Alice shouts.

A chain cracks right next to Morgan's ear, smashing the bat. It falls to the ground, dead.

"You OK, Morgan?" he asks.

"You two handled yourselves well. We may be able to pull this off, after all. Ah - strip the corpses for anything useful before we move on. Vitcorp's been working on refining techniques. I'm pretty sure I can copy them if we have enough material..."

Morgan and Levi each receive 2 Leathery Wings.

"Hm. Shall we move on?" Alice asks.

Tai, Dewey

Kiran waves his wand and a rain of knives come tumbling down tumbling down tumbling down. They stab the enemies and land all around his allies without harming them. He takes a bow.

Tai unleashes a wave of flames and ice on both enemies. One is burnt and collapses to the ground.

Dewey says something in weird-speak and the other bursts into flames and explodes violently.

Tai and Dewey each receive 2 Soft Plastic.

The mall falls silent once again. More of the mannequins stare them through store windows. Dozens. Possibly hundreds. All with a sharp glare. Full of hatred...

The portal still hovers behind them, but the way forward is clear.

Leia, Vincent

"Is that the best you can do?" Vincent asks. He adjusts some settings on his weapon. It should be stronger next time he attacks.

"It's really, really not." The guy swings his shovel and whacks him in the face again. Vincent really fucking wishes he would stop fucking doing that. That hit didn't hurt as bad, but he feels Dizzy.

A UFO comes flying in from nowhere and scoops Vincent up. Leia can tell she summoned it. The shovel guy looks up, sees Vincent gone, then looks at Leia. "Well, fine. I'll just bash you instead. Still not too late to run..." He gives her his creepiest smile, with nothing but his eyes and mouth visible.

The girl in the bubble keeps struggling. She seems to be panicking more and more. She points at her partner and a blue shade forms around him.

The bubble pops and she drops to the ground, though the clothes are still wrapped around her. But she seems to have calmed down. She takes a deep breath. Leia feels a weight lifting off her shoulders, too.

Leia, Moongirl, and Vincent are all injured. Leia and Moongirl are Ensnared, but no longer Slow. Vincent is Dizzy and Untargetable.

Karl

You continue to exist.
