You all watch Vicky's show as she dances around the stage. Not a moment feels wasted as you watch. Even if you aren't that into dances or parties, watching Vicky move is somehow enthralling. In fact, it feels like your focus is almost entirely locked in on her. Your cares almost slip away. Almost.
As Vicky poses at the end with her cane, Dennis' fireworks go off in a spectacular display of fire and lights! Amazing! The crowd is dazzled!
BOOM!
Everyone at the party begins to look around in confusion as a loud explosion is heard in the distance.
*Bing Bong Ding Dong*
Nekoshi's voice echoes throughout the dining hall. "Ahem. Attention all students. A body has been discovered! Report to the dorms immediately!"
Vicky looks around in confusion. "Wh...What?" She stares at the crowd, dumbfounded.
"S-Someone was killed!?" Axel begins to flip out.
"Everyone stay calm!" Claus calls out to the others. "We still have yet to confirm anything!"
Leanne nods. "Claus is right. We need to head over to the dorms!"
Everyone quickly runs out of the dining hall and down the path to the dorms. Smoke can be seen billowing out of one of the windows. Moving even faster, everyone crowds into the main entrance to find something they didn't expect to see.
Tucker's bloody body lie face up on the floor in front of his dorm room. He's covered in burns and scorch marks. Vivian sits beside him, her face streaming with tears. His eyes are left vacantly open. Lifeless.

"Looks like cause of death was an explosive... If the explosive went off in his room...."

Sam seems particularly disturbed by the body. "Haha... Th-this is another... prank, right? This isn't funny, Tucker..."
Aki, trembling as her eyes begin to well up with tears, walks over to Tucker and closes his eyes with her hands.
"May you find your peace
In your Ultimate resting
place, Tucker Rally"
Tucker does not respond. He seems truly dead. Leanne opens her mouth to respond. "What...What happened...?"
You walk over to the body and mention the cause of death may be an explosion.
Everyone is interrupted, however, as Nekoshi suddenly pops up between Spy and Tucker's body. "Did somebody say cause of death? Cause I've got some death for you! A death report! The Nekoshi File!" Your student handbooks flash as they turn on by themselves, revealing a new file placed on them. "The Nekoshi file presents plenty of useful information to help you find the culprit in the Class Trial! Make sure you look it over carefully!" Nekoshi pauses a moment and stares at you all. "...What the heck are you doing standing around like that!? Get to investigating already! You have a limited amount of time until the Class Trial starts! You don't want to start without evidence, do you? You might as well lay down and die already!" Nekoshi turns away in frustration and walks off.
You look at the student handbook and the Nekoshi File within. Leanne speaks out loud as she looks at the file. "The Nekoshi File. This might have evidence we could use in it..." You open the file to find an image of Tucker's dead body as you found it. Information is listed to the side while a diagram to the left shows where the injuries were found on his body. Leanne reads the file out loud. "Tucker Rally, the Ultimate Geopolitical Analyst was found dead at 8:31 PM. Large burns can be seen throughout the body and the cause of death was an explosion. There are no other notable injuries found on Tucker's body." You close the file. "8:31 PM? That was only a few minutes ago. That must mean Tucker died around the time we heard that explosion. But what caused it...?"

Lets Check the Room first, Check if there are any Signs of a Trap.

You head inside Tucker's room and start your search. Sylvia heads inside with you. She looks a little panicked.
You get a quick overview of Tucker's room. Most of it seems to be covered in black soot. The room is fairly disheveled. The furniture seems to have shifted from the blast of whatever exploded in here. The window is shattered as well. Glass pieces lay among the debris on the floor. Tucker's carpet is burned, stained, and has remnants of vomit on it. That's disgusting. The bed, having been moved slightly, seems to have had the sheets and pillows knocked off of it. Canned food is carefully tucked underneath the bed. But what stands out most of all is on the walls. What looks like writing all over them. What the hell was Tucker doing in here...?

Lets Take a Closer look at the Soot to see if I can Find any Pieces of whatever Explosive it was.

You search around the room for any trace of the explosive used. Looking through the soot carefully, you find a strange piece of remnant. This looks like...a part of a firework maybe? It could be that fireworks were used to kill Tucker. Does that mean...?

You ask Dennis if any of his fireworks were stolen while looking at the writing on the wall.
Oh my god. That's creepy. This writing is what everyone's actions have been in the past few days. Has Tucker really been taking notes on all of this? You look at the writing a bit closer. What was he trying to accomplish with this? Was he trying to predict everyone's movements...? You notice that there's a significant absence of any actions from today. You also note that there's no mention of fireworks in these notes. That must mean that if someone was putting together Tucker's murder...they'd have to put all the components together today.

You head with Dennis down to the Ultimate Pyrotechnics Lab. Claus is standing there, inspecting the room carefully. You notice the room seems fairly normal except for the fact that there's a bunch of gunpowder spilled all over the floor with footprints in it.

You begin inspecting the footprints. These definitely look like sneakers. The feet seem on the smaller side as well. These were probably left behind by a girl or at least someone with small feet. Something about these footprints just seems really average to you. Hardly anything stands out about them. They move directly over to the firestarting materials and then head back toward the door. This person didn't make any stops anywhere else in the room. You can confirm this because the gunpowder is spilled all across the floor. You wouldn't be able to get to the other side of the room without stepping on it and leaving more footprints.
You ask Claus what happened and he turns to speak with you. "It seems like these footprints belong to Vivian. It matches her shoes that I saw while doing laundry. Furthermore, I find something else strange here." He points out the shape of the gunpowder and how it spilled. "Doesn't it look like it spilled around something? This specific spot of the floor is clean as if the gunpowder hit something and stuck to it." Now that he mentions it, yeah, you can kind of see that. It definitely looks like something was in the way. You feel like these clues are definitely going to help in the trial.

As the doors open, you find yourselves in a large, circular room, standing on individual, floating platforms. With this circular style...you could all look at each other. You can all speak to each other. You can all throw blame at each other. You look among the faces of your classmates. Dennis, Vicky, James, Amelia. Axel, Claus, Ashley, Aki. Sylvia, Sato, Vivian, Leanne. Sam and Erika. And the deceased Tucker. A photo of him stands on an empty platform, crossed out with a red X. Tucker was killed. And it was one of you that did it. This marks your first round in the ring of deception. A world of despair. A palace of death. The class trial!
Before the trial begins, you decide to go over the evidence you've collected.
Nekoshi File #1
The victim is Tucker Rally, the Ultimate Geopolitical Analyst. He was killed at 8:31 PM. Large burns can be seen throughout the body and the cause of death was an explosion. There are no other notable injuries found on Tucker's body.
Fireworks
Remnants of fireworks were found within Tucker's room. This likely means that the explosives that killed Tucker were fireworks taken from the Ultimate Pyrotechnics Lab.
Tucker's Notes
Tucker had notes written on his walls that detailed everyone's actions for the past few days. There was a significant lack of notes for today and no mention of fireworks in the past days. That must mean that whoever killed Tucker had to set this up today.
Footprints
Vivian's footprints were found in the spilled gunpowder in the Ultimate Pyrotechnics Lab. They led directly to the fire starting materials and then directly outside with no detours.
Gunpowder
The gunpowder spilled in the Ultimate Pyrotechnics Lab was shaped in a strange way, as if something was in the way when the container was dropped. The gunpowder was blocked by this object, so it made an odd shape.
