Find The Truth!
Leanne thinks. "The gunpowder trail ended just outside the window. So that must mean...the explosive was launched inside."
Axel sighs. "No, no, you're thinking about it all wrong! The explosive was definitely thrown in the window!"
Vivian hesitates a moment. "U-Um...I don't think I remember hearing any glass break..."
Sylvia shrugs. "Maybe the window was open when they threw the bomb inside?"
Amelia shakes her head. "Ze window was closed and clearly broken when we walked into ze room."
Axel points dramatically. "So that means the missile was actually a ghost-"
"Surely you don't believe that."
Dennis elaborates further. "I can't speak on if vengeful spirits were involved, but it wasn't a missile. I found what remained of a firework in Tucker's room and when I returned to my lab to check, one had indeed been pilfered and my space violated."
Erika gives Dennis a suspicious look. "How did someone get in your lab?"
Ashley looks surprised. "Oh, look who finally decided to start being useful."
Claus explains. "The labs do not lock. So essentially, anyone can enter and exit at will. That means even though the fireworks are from Dennis' lab, Dennis may not be the killer."
"YAWN! BORING!" Nekoshi shouts to the others. "Come on, let's get on with the real deal here! Who's the killer?"
"There's no need to rush recklessly through our discussion. We need to prove beyond any doubt who here is guilty," Claus continues. "So then. We should move on from there. How exactly did the killer light the gunpowder trail?"
Leanne thinks for a moment. "There must be some kind of evidence..."
Present Evidence!
(In this section, you must select one of your Truth Bullets to present as evidence. Keep in mind that anyone could submit evidence at this time, but not all of you have the same Truth Bullets. You may choose to abstain from providing evidence if you don't believe you have anything that fits the prompt. However, if you choose to abstain and you do have the right evidence, your Influence will take damage. Take too much Influence damage and you won't be able to participate in the rest of the trial.)

"Did you forget this?"
Dennis continues. "I've taken it upon myself to catalog every single fire starter in this prison and a single match taken from my lab is the only one out of place. This means the murderer must have lit the gunpowder with said match."
A look of realization dawns upon Sylvia. "And you kept the matches right there in your lab, didn't you? That place!"
"This will prove my point."
Claus takes out an image of the spilled gunpowder in the Pyrotechnics Lab with footprints in it. "These footprints must depict whoever it is that went to the Ultimate Pyrotechnics Lab and stole the match. And if what I know is correct...These footprints belong to Vivian!"
Vivian lets out a scared gasp as the platform she stands on moves into the center, putting everyone's attention on her. "N-No, it's not..."
"That's right. These footprints match your sneakers perfectly. I remember from this morning while I was doing the laundry. The dimensions on it are perfect. They could only fit you."
"B-But it isn't me, I swear! I would never hurt Tucker!"
Axel shouts over Vivian. "Don't be ridiculous! Vivian would never do such a thing!"
Ashley throws her a skeptical glare. "The timing is too perfect..."

A. Axel yells at Claus. "Would you seriously accuse someone of something so horrible!?"
B. Vivian tries to defend herself. "I didn't even know that would happen! Why would I even want Tucker to get hurt?"
C. Aki tries to explain. "Axel, I'm afraid we have to find the culprit. It has to be one of us. So we must figure out whether it could have been Vivian."
D. Ashley continues. "I mean, just look at when Vivian showed up. She was the first to find Tucker's body."
E. Dennis accuses Vivian. "If you didn't kill him, what were you doing in my lab?"
F. Vicky shakes her head. "But that doesn't mean she killed him."
G. Axel continues to yell. "No! Suspecting my friends is wrong! That cat must be pulling something! There's no way!"
H. Dennis continues. "There wasn't a mess before the party and there is after Tucker's death. A mess you walked through! How do you explain that?"
I. Claus responds with annoyance. "Be silent! Do you not realize we're trying to have a discussion?"
J. Spy attempts to calm things down. "Let us not be so hasty in deciding the verdict quite yet. There are still some unsolved mysteries related to the case."
K. Sylvia sighs. "We need to consider every possibility. She could have just set off the explosive and run to see him first, pretending she was surprised."
L. Erika crosses her arms. "Claus is right. I can't think with all this noise..."
M. Ashley laughs a bit. "That reminds me of a role I played once. A widow that would murder her husband and pretend to be the victim all so she could get his money!"
N. Vicky throws Ashley a skeptical look. "Is that...really relevant?"

Axel yells at Claus. "Would you seriously accuse someone of something so horrible!?"
Vivian tries to defend herself. "I didn't even know that would happen! Why would I even want Tucker to get hurt?"

Claus responds with annoyance. "Be silent! Do you not realize we're trying to have a discussion?"
Spy attempts to calm things down. "Let us not be so hasty in deciding the verdict quite yet. There are still some unsolved mysteries-"
"Could you all just shut up for a second?"
"There it is!"
You continue. "Something's weird with that gunpowder. The way it fell is... weird. Like something was in the way, but I don't have the slightest idea what it could have been. Maybe it's not important, but..."
Leanne interjects. "No, you're right. Look at the way the gunpowder was spilled." Leanne pulls up an image of the gunpowder on her student handbook.
"NYAAAAH WRONG!" Everyone looks to Nekoshi. "That's way too small! How could the lovely folks at home see? NYA!" He produces a remote control from somewhere and pushes a button as a large television screen descends from above for everyone to look at. Leanne's image of the gunpowder is displayed.
"Huh. Convenient." Vicky nods.
Leanne continues. "Take a look at the shape here. The gunpowder is specifically missing in this area right here." Leanne points out an odd edge where the gunpowder curves around, evading a particular spot on the floor. "The way it fell here...it looks almost as if something were standing in the way. Or rather someone." Leanne clears her throat. "If you take a look here, it wouldn't be too strange for this shape to be made by someone standing in the way when the gunpowder fell. If you were holding the container and happened to drop it by accident...It makes perfect sense that it would fall around you like this."
Sato gives Leanne a confused look. "...What does that have to do with murder?"
Vivian's spirits are lifted as she responds. "It means that someone else could have taken the match-"
“I’ll shoot right zrough zat contradiction!”
Amelia's platform moves in next to Vivian's as the two stand face to face dramatically. "Zere is no way anyone else took zat match! Because I saw you wiz it!"
"Wh-What!?"
"Zat's right! When you returned to ze party, you 'ad zat match right in your 'ands!"
Sylvia looks pensive. "Come to think of it...I think she's right. When I saw you and Tucker talking...You had a match in your hands!"
Rebuttal Showdown

You'll lose influence if you cut the wrong words or miss the contradiction point! Try and slash the right contradiction point with the right blade to take your opponent down!)
Amelia Vs. Vivian
Amelia presses onward. "Zere's no way anyone else took ze match if only one match was missing and you 'ad it!"
"There weren't even any ozer fire starting materials missing. Dennis said so 'imself!"
"Silent? Per'aps I 'it ze bullseye!"
ADVANCE!
Vivian shakes her head. "You've got it all wrong. I-I didn't kill Tucker! He was my friend!"
"How would I even kill him with a little match?"
ADVANCE!
Amelia scoffs at Vivian. "Are you seriously so stupid? You took ze match..."
"And you used it to light ze explosives-"
"I'll cut your words!"
"I couldn't have used the match to light the explosives that killed Tucker! Don't you remember how the explosives were lit? There was a burned gunpowder trail that led to the window. That's what lit the fireworks and caused them to explode in Tucker's room! There was a very good reason why it couldn't have been me. Think about it. The whole trail was lit all the way back from the dining hall."
Vivian couldn't have lit the entire gunpowder trail. But...why is that?

Axel and Amelia's Account
"Why didn't anyone mention that before? It's really important! I was assuming people who were at the party had an alibi, but really Axel and Amelia's Account of who left shows who couldn't have done it!" Sam exclaims. "And it would have had to be someone who knew when Tucker left, so we can eliminate Vivian and Erika, and Claus and myself since we were in the kitchen..."

"This is irrefutable!"
Leanne crosses her arms. "If you'll recall, Vivian couldn't have lit the gunpowder trail. She went with Tucker to his dorm room before the powder was lit. And she had been there the entire time. Specifically right when the explosion happened. She couldn't hear us or the body discovery announcement because the explosion had left her temporarily deaf. That's why she didn't respond to any of us until a few minutes after we were there. Not only does this mean she was close to the explosion, but that she couldn't have lit the entire gunpowder trail like that. By the time she'd have run all the way back to Tucker's dorm after lighting the trail, the explosives would have already gone off and we would have seen her running with us."
Sam has a lightbulb moment. "Why didn't anyone mention that before? It's really important! I was assuming people who were at the party had an alibi, but really Axel and Amelia's Account of who left shows who couldn't have done it!" Sam exclaims this as the screen changes to a list of people and times they left and returned to the party. The only ones to have left were Ashley, Tucker, Vivian, Spy, Leanne, Sylvia, and Erika. Vivian, Erika, and Tucker never returned before the body was found. "And it would have had to be someone who knew when Tucker left, so we can eliminate Vivian and Erika, and Claus and myself since we were in the kitchen..."
Axel cuts in. "Wait a minute! If they had to be at the party, when did they set up all this stuff? Breaking the window, placing the gunpowder...Where was the time for this stuff?"
Claus nods. "Axel is right. Before we can progress, we need to make sure we understand when the murder was set up. Perhaps that can narrow our suspect list a bit further."

Find the Truth!
Sato thinks very hard. "So the killer needed to set everything up before the murder..."
Ashley scoffs at him. "No shit. Of course they needed to set it up before. You can't kill them with the explosion before the explosion."
Axel shakes his head. "I think we're looking at this wrong. We can't think about the time of the murder. We need to think about the time of the setup!"
Erika looks up in thought. "Who's to say the scene wasn't set up in advance? It could have been done days ago-"
"That is incorrect!"
Spy shakes his head. "The trap has to have been set up today. Tucker has been keeping an eye on everyone's actions on his wall, with nothing listed there for today." The screen shows a picture of Tucker's notes written on his wall with everyone's actions. There's nothing written down about anyone setting up a trap, anyone gathering gunpowder, or anything even remotely resembling fireworks. "Plus, I'm sure he would have noticed explosives in his room."
James nods. "That means it had to be set up sometime today. But it couldn't possibly have been during the day. We would have noticed it."
Sato continues. "And it can't be before brother got fireworks because he would know."
Claus looks to the screen and then back to everyone else. "The time frame of setting up the murder is suddenly becoming very clear."
Erika stares at Claus a moment. "Time frame..."
Logic Dive
(In this section, you have to answer a series of multiple choice questions in order to reach the proper conclusion. Find the solution using your wits and intuition!)
Question 1!
When was the window broken and the gunpowder set up? A. Before the Murder B. After the Murder C. During the Murder
Before the Murder
Question 2!
What Time of Day was the Murder Set Up? A. Morning B. Afternoon C. Night
Night
Question 3!
Where was the Murderer? A. At the Party B. Outside C. Both
Both
"This is the solution you're looking for."
Erika snaps her fingers as she finds the solution. "That's it! The murderer wasn't just at the party or outside. The murderer had been to both places."
Claus gives her a puzzled look. "What do you mean?"
She continues. "The murderer set everything up during the party. That's the only time that makes sense. If they had to set it up today, they couldn't have done it when it was light out or we would have seen the gunpowder. The only reason we didn't notice it earlier was because it was dark out."
James pauses. "So what you're saying is..."
"The murderer had to have left the party to set up the explosives and then returned to light them!"
Axel looks shocked. "That's like...two people!"
Leanne turns to Sam. "Put that list of people leaving and entering up again." The list appears on the screen. Leanne studies it carefully. "Just as I thought. The only ones that ever left and returned...were Spy, Ashley, Sylvia, and myself."
A panicked look comes across Ashley. "What!? What are you talking about!? Why would I ever get my hands dirty with some filthy gunpowder!?"
Vicky sighs. "Is having dirty hands really what you're worried we're accusing you of...?"
Sato points dramatically at Leanne. "That means you could be the killer!"
Leanne turns a little pale, but holds her composure. "Let's not point any fingers just yet. There's an important piece we're missing to this murder. Why did Tucker return to his room?"

"This is irrefutable!"
Leanne looks up at Vivian. "Vivian! You remember why Tucker went to see Sylvia, don't you? You told me when I was questioning you."
Vivian seems a bit shaky. "U-Um...Yes, but..." She glances at Sylvia.
"It's alright. We're just trying to find the truth. Relax and tell them what you know."
Vivian takes in a deep breath. "Alright. When we were at the party, the reason we left...was because Sylvia asked us to get her lucky pickaxe."
The room's attention turns toward Sylvia as she begins to sweat. "S-So? That means nothing!" She seems to be getting defensive. "I wanted my pickaxe because of other reasons! I left it in his room and I didn't want to leave so I could make sure the mood was right! You guys aren't seriously doubting me are you!?"
"So you left the pickaxe in his room?"
Sylvia looks confused. "What? Yes, of course I did! That's why he went there!"
Leanne grins. "I'm not so sure..." She pulls up an image of Sylvia's lucky pickaxe. "This was the pickaxe in question, wasn't it?"
"Of course! That's my lucky pickaxe. I'd recognize it anywhere."
Leanne lets out a small chuckle. "Heheh...It's funny, really. You pretty much debunk your own story."
Sylvia's eyes grow wide. "Wh-What!?"
"If that's the lucky pickaxe..." Leanne points at the screen with a dramatic flair. "Then explain its condition!"
Erika stares at the screen for a moment. "It's condition...?" A look of realization flashes across her face. "It's perfectly clean and maintained!"
Leanne nods. "That's right. If what Sylvia said was true, then this pickaxe shouldn't be clean at all!" The screen changes to show Tucker's room. Everything within is scattered, broken, and burned. "Just take a look at the objects in Tucker's room. Nothing survived intact. That means Sylvia's pickaxe couldn't possibly have been left in his room at the time of the explosion."
Sylvia looks to be panicking a bit. "R-Right, because h-he got it for me b-before..."
"No, that's wrong!" Vivian interjects. "I never saw Tucker with the pickaxe. In fact...when we were walking to get it is when the explosion went off. He never got to the pickaxe before the explosion. It should have been destroyed like everything else in his room!"
"A-Alright, fine..." Sylvia looks down, with a defeated look on her face. "It was me...I killed Tucker."

"I can't accept this!" Sam interjects. He points to Leanne, then retracts his finger as he realizes he doesn't know what to say. "I... Um... Ah! How could she have lit the gunpowder trail!?" Another dramatic point at Viv.
