You carefully drop down. You find the little tunnel shortly splits to the left and the right. A portal is clearly visible to the left.

Tai thinks for a moment. He decides to check out the portal first, figuring if the girls weren't on the other side then they took the other tunnel.

Somnis any idea on what to do next? Should we take a couple of days to figure out a plan amoungst ourselves or go to this fire place gun blazing?

Somnis hops over like a bird, leaning uncomfortably close to his face. "But if Mercia's after your soul, and you're gone, then why would Mercia bother attacking here, hmmmmmmm?"
"That's... Er.... I guess that's true?" Phenandran says.
Somnis claps. "Great! So, Mattea! You're gonna have to do like Alice did and help us fake him up an identity and get him enrolled in school."
"I have to what?" Mattea says.
"Who's Phenny going to live with?" Somnis yells. "Levi? You seem to have warmed up to him. I guess I could make Kiran take him in."

"And don't, y'know, with the 'my bad' thing. I mean, you're... y'know. A rookie. Um... Ugh. Dammit. Look, Arcadia. I'm really sorry, OK? I knew this place was dangerous, but I didn't think it would go so badly. I probably shoulda been watching over you more carefully or something, y'know?" He stops cleaning webs and puts a hand on your shoulder. "Seriously, that must've been pretty... intense. Are you alright?"

Arcadia flicks Kiran's hand off her shoulder, stretching her arms about now that she's free. "But can we get out now? The others already left. DAMN, it feels good to get out of that web crap..."

Kiran pulls his hand back with feigned offense. "Just a bit longer, alright? I'm almost done down here. Speaking of which... Here ya go." Kiran hands her half of the threads he's pulled off. "I think we can probably use these to make some new armor or weapons or something. But don't tell Tai, alright?" He gives you a sly wink. "If he's gonna cut you out of the spoils, we can play him the same way, yeah? He didn't do any of the work getting tangled in this stuff or getting it off ya."

You suddenly feel like you're being watched. You hear a distant skittering noise coming from down one of the paths, but the echo makes it impossible to tell which one. But it is definitely drawing closer.

"Alright! I hate to leave the others, but I guess we can't really do anything for them from here!" Kiran takes off for the door, only for a huge spider to come crashing through. It's brown, huge, sharp-fanged, massive, two-horned, and very large. It barely fits through the tunnel.

Dewey disables his Soul Key, uses it to create new armor using five Fish Eyes and three Leathery Wings, and re-equips it. His new form looks almost exactly the same as before save for an amulet on a necklace.
Seawing Amulet
A crystallized fish eye bound in leather with a wing extending from the left and right side.
Water Resist +10
Fire Resist +7
Wind Resist +6
Earth Resist +6
Evade +8
Electricity Resist -5
