Howling Cliffs

"Well, all you really need to know is that you're going to act as our wild card. Nobody knows that you're involved. I'll make sure to get you a Soul Key so you can fight too. I'm pretty sick of letting Mercia do whatever she wants."

"Yep. And you're not going to tell anyone about him. I can explain all this later, but for now, just stay on your toes, okay? I'll teach you everything you need to know when you get your key."

Sam

When Sam steps out of the portal, she finds Tia already transformed.  Freya is too busy looking around in wonder, shielding her eyes against the sunrise.  A wide, pure-white beach... a blood-red sea on one side... and a sheer cliff wall on the other.  A narrow trail snakes up to the top, but you can't see what's up there.  Crystals lining the wall glitter in the rising sun, so bright it's hard to look at.

Raine calmly enters, changing into her Otherworld form and popping open her umbrella to block the glare.  She looks around and smiles.  "So nice and warm..." she says.

"Oh, yeah, you're right!" Freya adds.  "It'd be great for a beach party."

"No...  There's too many pitfalls," Tia says.  "Oh right there's a lot of pitfalls.  Be careful where you step.  And we need to go find some water-dogachus.  Um... fish.  Yes."

"Right, yeah," Freya says.  "Lead the way."

"Oh, wait.  First."  Tia cups her hands around her mouth.  "Phenaaaandraaaaan!" she calls out.

"What's a Phenaaandraaan?" Freya asks.

"Guardian," Tia says.  "Guess he's not around.  Oh, well."

Raine stands in place, twirling her umbrella, lost in thought.

Sam

"Hm?  Oh, sorry...  Did you say something Sam?" Raine says quietly.  "I was just a bit distracted by everything.  Ah, yes.  Fish..."

Raine goes to join Freya and Tia, who are already ankle-deep in the ocean looking for fish.  "Here, fishy-fishy..." Freya calls out.  "Whoa!  Something just brushed my ankle.  Was that you?"

"No?" Tia says.

Freya suddenly flies up into the air, then splashes back down into the ocean.  A large, pancake like fish rises up from where she'd been standing.  As Freya scrambles back to her feet and the rest of you run to her side, another pair of fish emerge to join the first, floating just over the water and preparing to attack.

Sam

Tia unleashes a burst of light-blue energy that engulfs all the fat fish.  Sam snaps her whip and a bunch of similar-colored orbs surround your allies.  The fish start to head into a frenzy.  Raine leaps into the air as they start to swarm over your group, smashing Sam and Freya.  Ow.  Tia manages to use her spear and vault over the fish that aims at her.

"Ugh, ow..." Freya says.  "Alright, eat this!"  She throws a baseball at one of the fish, curving it in the air and pinging it off its side.

Sam

Sam proceeds to swing her whip wildly and hit two of the fish, but misses the third.  Freya catches the baseball as it rebounds off the fish, then throws it at the same fish again.  She punts the soccer ball at a different one.  The most injured fish sits in place and seems to suck in some water, its wounds disappearing.  One of the fish jumps up and slaps Sam with its tail.  The last fish leaps into the air and drops down, splashing all three of you with water.  While you're recovering from the splash, Raine drops down, lands on the fish that splashed you, then leaps back into the air.  Tia pulls out a hammer with a snake-shaped handle and a goofy, smiling snake on the face.  She proceeds to bring it down and smash that fish.  It sinks under the water and stops moving.

Sam

Freya catches the baseball and throws it again, but misses the fish so she slaps a hockey puck at it instead. It pings off and the fish answers by slapping her with its tail. A buzzing starts to come from Freya's key. "That... doesn't sound good," she says.

"It's not," Tia agrees, preparing to strike.

Sam bounces a discus off one fish and into the other. The first sinks into the water while the other slaps water at all of you again. Tia leaps forward and stabs her lance through the fish, hoisting it out of the water.

"Now I've got you! Emerald SPLASH!" Green-colored shards come raining out of Raine's umbrella as she slowly floats down to join you. "Did I get it?"

"Yep." Tia throws the corpse off of her lance.

Freya's key slowly stops buzzing. "Alright... looks like we got a decent haul.  But I think we need a bit more, right?"

"Well...  I got enough to make a new outfit already..." Raine says quietly.  "It looks like Mareena's advice really did pay off!"

"Right, well, go change while we go find some more fish."

"Oh... um... I think I'll wait..."
