Levi, Morgan, Dewey

Levi starts blasting a battle anthem.  The 2nd note hasn't finished playing when the tentacle lashes out at blinding speed and coils around his waist.  It starts crushing him as it holds him in place.

Levi was inflicted with Bind! (Ensnare + take damage every turn)

Morgan sits quietly to one side, meditating.  Fox stands beside her, doing the same.  Katie changes forms to a gorilla.  Dewey takes out his book, points it at the tentacle and starts reading as it fills in.

"Enemy unknown.  Unable to properly evaluate given current data.  Further analysis required.
Estimated Threat Level: B+."

While everyone else just stands around, the fish leap out of the water to tackle the immobilized Levi one after the other.  Why won't anyone help him...?  By the firth impact, can tell his new armor's working really well.  Thankfully.  Otherwise that stunt would've left him gravely injured instead of just badly injured.  He can feel the stress on his soul key...

Mattea slinks over to Morgan.  She places one hand on her shoulder and uses the other to gently fold Morgan's ear to her lips.  "You..." she whispers softly.  Morgan shivers.  She feels... strangely motivated to go get them.

Morgan is Inspired to act twice next round!


Arcadia

You leave Kiran gawking slack-jawed at you and go for a stroll on the beach.  You start looking through the sand, giving an occasional glance at the fight going on.  She finds a pure-white feather in near-pristine condition, and a beautiful spiral shell.

The fight... doesn't seem to be off to a great start, but it could be going worse.  And Tom's still busy mining at that wall by himself.  And Kiran...  Oh, great.  That idiot's starting up the path up the cliff.  Ugh.  Maybe it'd be best just to let him do... whatever he's doing.  Jerk can't even pay you a proper compliment even with all that ogling.  On top of everything, the dude was practically drooling when he saw your new outfit!  What a jackass!


Tai

"Shrine maiden?" Natsumi asks.  She slides her mask off to look you in the eye.  "Not quite.  Part of me wants to tease you in really mean ways, but I guess I can see why you'd think that.  I kinda hoped you of all people would be able to tell I was an onmyouji, though..."  She pokes her index fingers together with a downtrodden look.

It passes quickly, reverting to her usual grin.  "Maaaybe I'm just a little bit disappointed with that, but y'know what actually stings?  She gets to be a 'sexy' siren, but I'm just a shrine maiden.  I know I don't have her... assets..."  She puts a hand behind her head, the other on her hip, and leans towards you with a suggestive smirk.  "But, c'mon.  What'd I tell you about complimenting women last night?  Come on, this is a great chance for you to practice.  Why don't you try to stoke my ego just a little bit?"

She's not actually upset.
Right?
She's just teasing you.
Again.
Probably.
Yeah, this is bait.
She's just looking for an excuse to... mock you for something.
Or... maybe she's serious?
This could be your chance to turn the tables on her for once.

Probably safest to give the usual dismissive compliment.

Tai thinks for a second. His face controts to a smug look when he says,"Well, mythologically sirens led sailors to their deaths and weren't even actually beautiful. Shrine maidens on the other hand, well, they're just young, innocent girls devoted to a cause."

He says the last part somewhat melodramatically for the effect.

Arcadia

"Oh, cool!" Kiran says earnestly.  "I'd love to spend some more time with you."

If you had to guess, this cliff is... probably around 600ft or so?  It's pretty huge.  Kiran takes the lead as you get moving.  The path is narrow and you have to follow behind him.

The two of you make it up about 50ft.  You pause to look down.  Tom is still mining at the wall, roughly straight below him.  He steps back, clutching a diamond-looking rock.  And then a stone-looking fist flies out of the solid stone wall and punches him.  As he staggers back, a cluster of floating stones form into a roughly humanoid shape and loom over him.  Then two more of those join in.  There's plenty of other people down on the beach to help him.  You could trust them and keep going...  But it looks like Kiran's about to slide down the cliff and join the fight.


Levi, Morgan, Dewey

Morgan rushes forward, past the tentacle, and attacks the crab before it can react.  It doesn't seem to care much.  Levi turns up his speakers, even as the tentacle continues squeezing him.  Dewey fires a bolt of lightning at one of the fish.  It seems badly injured.  Fox leaps into the air, then drops down on the crab with a swipe of his scythe, covered in a black-and-blue glow.  The crab didn't seem to appreciate that...  But it's fine.

The injured fish heals itself, only for Katie to punch it.  Even after the healing, it doesn't seem to be doing too well.  The others leap at Morgan, Katie, Katie, and Fox.  Morgan fires several shots into the air and bullets rain down on the enemies.  It doesn't seem particularly damaging, but it hits all of them.  The crab jumps in front of the injured fish and seems to be taking a protective stance.  Mattea folds her fan in front of her face and winks at one of the fish.  It starts acting strangely...


Tai

"Ugh."  Natsumi rolls her eyes, breaks her pose, and pulls her mask back down over her face.  She turns and walks away.

Even Tai can tell she's annoyed...  Is she jealous of Mattea or something?  Wait, is she crushing on you...?  Yeah, that's gotta be it.  ...Maybe.

Your lover's spat is broken up by the sound of rock smashing into flesh.  You whirl around in time to see three rock-creatures walking up towards Tai.  Several people go running to help - Somnis, Tia, and Buttons.  Huh?  Not Natsumi, too?  You turn back in the direction she was heading.  She isn't there.  Huh!?  It's a wide-open beach, and she's just... gone.

Morgan

(I thought I used Shadow Strike not Shadow Sneak.)

Morgan will hang back use light orb on the tentacle.

Tai will run towards where Natsumi went.

"Natty! Natty!?Where the fuck did you go!" Worry sets in a bit. She could be messing with him, but he wouldn't take that chance since they were here in the Otherworld.

Arcadia

Kiran looks at you, a bit surprised, but grinning widely.  "I was just about to suggest exactly that.  Y'know, I'm really starting to fall for you!"  He grabs your hand and drags you off the cliff.

AMBUSH ATTACK!

It occurs to you mid-fall that this is most certainly a lethal drop.  Still, you pull out your Saturn Sabers in mid-air, slashing one with a laser beam.  You expect your legs to snap, but they don't.  Yeah, it hurts - a lot - and your feet sink deep into the sand, but you're alive.  Well, for now.  The monster you just slashed is seriously pissed.  Like, really pissed.  So pissed you can tell even though it's literally a rock.  And you're not going anywhere fast.  Seriously, you're almost buried to your knees...

Arcadia was inflicted with Ensnare.

Kiran lands on a different monster, bouncing off and jumping a few feet away to join the rest of the formation.  "WAH-HOO!"

Buttons, Somnis, and Tai come running to join you, Kiran, and Tom against the three rock monsters...

Morgan, Dewey, Levi

The tentacle continues to crush Levi while he tries to activate his burst stance.  Mattea starts dancing.  Everyone can feel magic flowing in to heal their wounds.  Fox dashes in quickly, slashing the fish that Dewey and Katie weakened.  It's barely alive.  The crab slaps him in the face.  Katie walks forward and punches the fish to death.  The crab jumps from Fox to Katie, impaling her with its claws.  She howls and throws him off.  Morgan fires a light ball at the tentacle. It twitches at the impact.

Four fish remain.  Predictably, all the other fish begin to go berserk.

Dewey zaps a different fish.  It apparently doesn't appreciate this and leaps forward to tail-slap him.  Ow.  The next fish starts splashing water, dealing a serious blow to everyone.  Then a fish jumps forward and slaps Levi.  His sound-blast triggers and sends it flying back, badly injured - but so is Levi.  Did it... understand about the counter-attack?  The tentacle, seemingly pissed off about the light orb, chucks Levi at Morgan.  They crash into each other.  Morgan is starting to get seriously hurt, but Levi's soul key is starting to crack...

Mattea, mid-dance, points at the tentacle.  The last fish, seemingly under her thrall, slams itself into the other monster.  The crab takes a defensive stance in front of the most injured fish, the one Dewey zapped.


Tai

You go running in Natsumi's general direction.  "Natty!  Nat- mmph!"  You trip over something and faceplant into the sand.  You roll over and examine what happened.  There are two sets of footprints - one yours, one that you think matches Natsumi's sandals.  They both stop right before where you tripped.  Yours ends in a Tai-shaped body print.  Natsumi's just seem to end, right around the place you tripped.  You examine the area in more detail.  There seems to be a small spot in the ground where the sand is kind of... disturbed.  Sunken.  There's also another pair of marks that you don't really recognize on either side of it.  ...Drag marks?  You can tell they're leading towards the sunken spot. 

If Natsumi called back in response to your yelling, it was drowned out by the sounds of combat.
