---Introduction---
The Great Vitgem has returned, but this time everything went wrong. The entities being summoned from the Great Vitgems are what we call "bosses" and they are being copied over and over again. The denizens of Central Town managed to make the town safe again, but the world outside is extremely dangerous and hostile. Bosses are multiplying and we need heroes to fight them back while the magic protecting the town still works. Portals to many worlds were opened in hope of heroes showing up...
---Specific gameplay info---
Basic Vitcon game, structured like Monster Hunter. You socialize in town until you're ready to choose one of the available quests, then travel with your party to the destination of the quest and fight the boss(es) you were sent to defeat.
As for who you play as, it can be yourself, an old character or a new character. Anything goes. Only requirements is that all sections of the sign-ups must be fillable by the character you pick.
As in MH, the bosses will be significantly stronger than you. They can kill you way faster than you can kill them. While I won't mess with an item system, you will have ways to heal on the field in order to be able to survive.
All quests can be joined by a party to up to 4 people. You can leave alone if you want to, form a party constituated of players of even leave with NPCs. Bosses' HP are scaled to the size of the party that goes questing.
As in Monster Hunter, bosses gives you materials. You get 1 unit of material from a boss each time you beat it. This can be used to craft weapons or armor. Weapons are custom, but the boss material it's made of will decide it's strenght and element. Armor gives you specific passive abilities, and raise your defense. Some armor resist other elements more than other. Upgrading weapons and armors will be explained in-game.
There'll be various mechanics in place to make grinding non-redundant.
I think that's it for the basic. Feel free to ask any questions.

Here's a guy that never actually appeared in a game (although he was planned to) but was referenced in the backstory of two of my other characters. This is the Red Mage that inspired Lupis to go to Terran and Sylvia to take up magic, but in his prime from before the events of the first Lost Kingdom! I also added an extra section to list abilities, I thought about including them with the weapon description but this is probably less clunky of a way to do it. Name: Cid Crimson Basic Info: Male, mid-to-late 20s Description: Well he's a Red Mage, so he basically looks like this: goo.gl/images/axt5pDA white-haired guy dressed in predominantly red clothing with a sword, but unlike that picture he's got white gloves. Weapon: Rapier A thin blade designed for quick and precise strikes over raw power. A ruby is set at the base of the hilt to aid in spellcasting alongside swordplay, and the blade can also be used to absorb incoming magic. Armor: Feathered Cap (a red hat with a white feather), Red Tunic (chainmail underneath), Leather Pants (ordinary brown pants), White Gloves (they're gloves...), Battle Boots (Leather Boots with metal protecting the front half of the foot). Feathered Cap, Leather Pants and White Gloves are all enchanted with minor Protect charms giving them defensive qualities in line with light armor. Abilities: Dualcast Red Magic - Not only is Cid capable of casting spells from both the offense-focused field of Black Magic and the support-centric White Magic family, he's skilled enough to cast up to two of these spells in the span of a single turn. The tradeoff for this versatility and speed is a limit in how strong of spells he can cast, as he's unable to use to strongest spells from either set such as Flare, Meteor, Holy and Arise. Attune Blade - By raising his blade into the air, Cid can draw spells to himself harmlessly absorbing them in the process. Backstory: Cid is simply a wandering explorer seeking excitement and treasure. He has an interest in ancient civilizations of legend and would rarely turn down an offer to search long lost ruins for mystical artifacts. This comparison might not help since you haven't played Final Fantasy 6, but Attune Blade is basically Celes' Runic ability. Cid uses it to raise his sword, then the first spell cast on that turn (any spell used by anyone, even a healing spell from his own party) is forced to exclusively target him and is completely negated. I don't know if there's an MP system in this game, but if there is then absorbing a spell with Attune Blade will also restore Cid's MP equal to the MP cost of the absorbed spell. If not, it's purely just an anti-magic ability. If you don't want him to have this ability it isn't the end of the world, this skill has only been a thing Red Mages could do in one game while Dualcast Red Magic (or Red Magic in general along with being able to use swords and medium armor) is the only real universal trait that a Red Mage wouldn't be complete without.

Name: Delphine Basic infos: Female, 27. Description: A demoness, Black got-esque horns jutting from her jet black hair, Red reptilian eyes and very pale skin. Delphine has a very little body while still being fairly strong. Weapon: Cleaver of Cain, Large somewhat heavy weapon (almost looks like the great knife). A weapon this big is harder to handle. It has a high damage per hit and has a lot of force but prevents the user from attacking fast. The Cleaver has a special magical ability in the form of Vengeance. Each time the user takes damage, the Cleaver transfers a small portion of this damage back onto the enemy. Armor: Armor looks something like this: And is a medium weight armour with hardpoints over vital areas. Backstory: Delphine is the former elite gaurd of the dark Lord of the underworld. Despite this prestigious and feared title hanging above her head, Delphine wants nothing more than to escape her past. She wants nothing to do with the underworld nor Lucifer. Hoping to change the world's view on her, Delphine has come out of hiding to fight the strange evils that now roam the lands...

Are you okay with your magic absorption being elemental absorption instead? Cause I don't even know if there will have any boss that uses magic. (The ability is active and not passive right?)

Sure. Yeah, it's an active skill. Passively absorbing elemental abilities targeted at anyone in the party would be way too broken. Edit: Actually, while I'm assuming this is what you meant it's probably best to clarify that elemental attacks that are clearly physical in nature probably shouldn't be affected. A boss breathing fire at the party can be absorbed, a falcon punch can't even though that would deal fire damage since it would be physical fire damage. The same criteria could be used to determine whether Protect or Shell mitigates an attack, or if reflect can bounce an attack back. While we're on the subject of Attune Blade, I think I might have an idea for an alternative to MP restoring: after absorbing something with Attune Blade the next spell Cid casts can be a -ga level spell (Most -ga level Black magic spells as well as Curaga are just stronger, but the difference with buff and debuff spells like Protect and Slow is that Protega and Slowga target all enemies or allies).

You can look at my bad attempt at a map in the Locations topic. I'll do that for every map.

Oh, by the way, if you were wondering.
You could all pick the same quest and like MH, it wouldn't actually be the same quest and you wouldn't even meet each other. Don't try to question it.
