Well I'm adapting how this works into something else anyways (the actual version from Final Fantasy Dimensions and FF6 just gives you MP equal to the cost of the spell absorbed but since there's no MP this seemed like a good alternative while also working higher level magic into CID's moveset), but given that the energy is stored in the sword until used here rather than being maintained through focusing or something I'd say I should probably still have it.
Time to go on the defensive. Cast Shellga (grants Shell to the whole party, halving non-physical damage taken) followed by Cura to heal myself, then put some distance between me and it since I have no idea what it's about to do but it can't be good. Shellga should lessen the blow if it's some kind of explosion, and if it's some kind of crazy physical attack standing back might help avoid it.

Weaken is a skill that Lowers the attack power of nearby foes for 1 turn.
Though technically Its a skill exclusive to Rabbid Luigi but he is the only one who uses Bworbs so i'm adding at as thing the bworbs can do.

As Gohma is flashing, some kind of pulsating fleshy spheres come out of it's tail. Mox keeps his distance and decide to not attack this turn... Cid does the same, expecting a powerful attack from the enemy. Cid heals himself and boosts the party's defense. Donald runs behind the tree and uses a weaken shot on the enemy.
When Gohma makes the third fleshy sphere, it stops flashing and is now some kind of giant eye with a crab-like shell, pincers coming with it.
Mox: "What happened? Is this the same monster?"
Gohma is pummeling the ground three times with it's pincers. It's pupil looks at Donald, Mox, then Cid. A cracking noise is coming from the fleshy spheres.

Fira on the eggs, then cast Blink (raise evasion) on myself to make me a harder target since I've already taken some damage.

Mox: "Okay... I'm getting one..."
Mox runs towards the crab-like creature, sliding under it, while Donald shoots one of the spheres, before getting smashed into the ground by the creature's pincers. A really tiny crater is left, with Donald in the middle of it... He feel like he was hit by an anvil falling on him...
Mox destroys a second egg, while fire from Cid destroys the last one. Mox notices the enemy running back towards him, just in time for him to dodge. Gohma runs towards Cid while he casts Blink on himself. Cid dodges the attack like a master.
Gohma lets out an intimidating growl, as it's eye turns red.
(Tutorial: Monsters are faster when they are enraged. Some monsters will use certain moves only while enraged.)
Gohma is spinning in place.
