Not sure if I'll do sub-boards, I don't think so.
---What is this game---
In this game, you play as an ordinary human who lost something. Wether it was your dog, your car keys, your little brother or a stopwatch, searching for it led you to a new world... Even though you don't know it yet. Your goal is to find what you lost and perhaps then you'll be able to go back home. No story element will be revealed in the sign-ups to keep the game's world as mysterious as possible.
This game has no combat and is centered on how you interact with the world and it's characters. It should mostly be dialogues.
Also, for once, I'll try to relatively stay kid friendly.
---Mechanics specific to this game---
Plot armor: My goal with this game is for it to be a story more than a game. Your characters should not be at any point in danger of death, except in cases that will be specified below. At any point in time, if your character is in a bad situation you can have him become idle. This will mean you will not post until another player save you from a situation. You can do that for story purposes. Examples could be being imprisoned or lost in the middle of a forest. If you choose to do that, you will be pinged when saved. Note that death should be a very real issue for your character. As a player, you know you shouldn't die, but your character doesn't know that. Also, if you do something really dumb, like dive in lava, you will die.
Annoyance mechanic: Humans are not common in the world you will end up in. You'll need to find a way to fit in and a place to call home while you're stuck there. Wether you find hospitality or become the slave to an entity, you will have to respect the rules of the house. Breaking the rules (or getting caught breaking them) will get you kicked out after three strikes. In certain cases, it might also result in death, but those cases should be obvious (evil entities, etc.). Your choice if you want to play with fire or not.
---Sign-up---
Name:
Age: (You can be of any age, but note that I imagined this game with the playable characters being between 10 and 16)
Gender:
Description:
"Backstory": (Who is your character in his everyday life?)
Fear: (Pick something that your character fears. Please, don't pick anything too obscure.)
---Luck Paths---
In addition to you sign-up, you need to choose a Luck Path. This will decide your first encounter. Note that players with the same Luck Path are very likely to meet each other very early. Without revealing anything more, here are the luck paths you can pick:
Lucky
Normal
Ambiguous
Unlucky
Cursed
---Small story paragraphs---
To end your sign-up, you need to write a little something. It's lenght is your choice. It just needs to include what you lose and how you lose it. This paragraph needs to end with how you enter the new world. It's nothing blatantly paranormal. It could be passing through a tunnel, opening a door you never opened, falling into the sewers, etc. The game will start with you taking the first step into the new world.
