Hey guys. I just thought that since a lot of us on here are writers that we could have a thread where we sort of help each other out, give helpful tips.
In fact, though I would be glad to offer help, I also would like to ask for some. Specifically on the subject of successfully writing shorter posts for games. See, my thing is that I tend to want to write a lot. Sometimes, too much. The problem is, when a player has a fairly simple action, there isn't always so much to write about, so I end up having to extrapolate and just sort of fluff it out with filler. This makes writing for simpler games frustrating for me, and I end up usually not posting on the ones I create even though I want very much to work with such a style. What tips do you all have for working in this format? I am open to any and all suggestions!

Personally, I think you should be able to write huge paragraphs if you want to write huge paragraphs. It's only an issue durring PVP imo.
I think we had a lot of examples from Just VS pretty much anyone. His plans were freaking huge, so he just ended up having one million actions every turn while the other players did one or two.
Fluff isn't a bad thing, the problem is when your paragraph gives you more actions than the other players.

If you feel like you want to write a lot and that characters aren't doing a lot to write about, maybe you could have the characters only react at certain important points. Or, alternatively, you could gather multiple reactions with small posts and make one, large, descriptive one at the end that sums up the whole thing with plenty of descriptions and stuff.

The problem is that I don't always have the material to make it happen. Sometimes the entirity of what I have to update comes down to "Character attacks another, the other tries their best to fight back, and maybe one of them talks a little smack". And that's not a problem in itself, except that I personally am not sure how to make the post enjoyable to read and not just super basic. And especially if that is the norm in a game I'm running, I want to be able to make sure that each post I make is substantial even if they're almost all short. That's what I want to focus on at the moment, anyway. Dissociating quality from length.
