Basically, I am thinking that I would like a game that everyone would be able to participate in.
Allow me to introduce those who didn't play to the Gates setting. Essentially, it is an array of worlds based on numerous crossover settings. This isn't merely a multiverse, it's a multiverse of combined worlds - conceptually or visually adjacent settings share worlds, like Kirby and Animal Crossing, anime series in general, or macabre/horror themed worlds. You never know who you'll run into on any given day, and this setting is in trouble. Across the worlds, cosmic abominations called Black Lanterns have attacked. These undead variants of dead characters are a threat not only to individual lives, but to the very existence of life as everyone knows it. But there are cross-world alliances that have cropped up to prepare for their threat - heroes, partiers, free thinkers, and even villainous fucks have banded together, among others. Cemetery Gates focused on a particular faction, operated out of a graveyard that acted as a cross-world nexus.
If I were to return to this setting, there would be two ways that I could go about this. I could restore it in its initial form - a forum style game in which everyone controls a pair of characters, traveling the worlds and trying to accumulate enough strength and knowledge to stop the Black Lanterns. This was hella fun and a lot of people enjoyed it back on Gamefaqs. Alternatively, I could do it is a CYOA, with individual segments focusing on individual characters of significance. This would probably be a much tighter narrative, but it wouldn't be as free. If this were chosen I would allow people who initially played to veto choices they hated.
HOWEVER!
I also had another concept for a game - Composite Bunker. Underground, a pair of adventurers have discovered a completely unfamiliar bunker inside caverns. Using the keypad to punch in combinations of two numbers, they found that they could open the front door into strange and unfamiliar worlds. In this throwback to my very earliest games, it's all about discovering the fun and challenge of the 100 available floors, and discovering some of your very favorite characters from gaming and other things. Think of it as a lighthearted character collection game, where you're looking for cool variants of whoever you can find, as well as trying to complete the whole bunker! TBQH I had to revamp this, which initially featured OCs, mostly because I wanted to differentiate it from Darkest Tower.
Alternatively, I could come up with other concepts. What I really want is to appeal to the tastes of Vitcon. The important thing is that maximum players participate, so feel free to let me know.
