"Come, my lieutenants... Now is the time to strike. The humans and their allies are weak! First, we will break their supply lines and leave them helpless. Then, we will strike once they've fallen into disarray. That is when we'll finish them!"
Step 1: Monster Leader Resources
Each monster leader starts with 500 Creature Points (CreaP). To gain more CreaP, launch attacks!
Step 2: Special Skills
Creating a new skill to equip on your monsters casts 50 CreaP! Additionally, each skill will cost some of a monster's stat points to equip. The stat point cost will depend on the skill. Monsters with lots of strong skills will have lower stats!
Step 3: Designing a New Monster
You'll start with 3 monster types, free of charge. Creating new types will cost 300 CreaP.
Monster creation form Name: Appearance: Stats (30 points) HP: (5/pt) MP: (3/pt) Melee Attack: Melee Defense: Range Attack: Range Defense: Mag Attack: Defense: Special Skills:
Step 4: Attack
Choose a location to attack. And choose carefully - these decisions matter. You'll be given a set number of monsters, depending on where you attack. CreaP can be used to purchase reinforcements at the cost of 25 CreaP/monster.
Step 5: Upgrading monsters
Spend CreaP to increase a monster type's stat points! Each point will cost 5 CreaP for the first 10 points, 10 CreaP for the next 10 points, etc.

Question: Is CreaP used to spawn monsters or can it be safely used on upgrades?

It can be used to buy additional monsters during the attack, but you'll have a base number of free monsters.

Okay, I have some monsters drafted up and am budgeting my initial CreaP out. About the upgrades and their cost - it goes up every 10 points, as I understand. Is this every 10 points per stat, or is it shared across all stats on each monster, or is it shared across all stats on all monsters on each monster leader?

All stats on each monster. The second one.

Monster creation form Name: Big Bois Appearance: Thicc and muscular primate bois - mostly gorillas, chimps, and other larger primates, but there might be a big beastly ape in there somewhere Stats (30 points) HP: (5/pt) 50 MP:(3/pt) 6 Melee Attack: 1 Melee Defense: 5 Range Attack: 1 Range Defense: 5 Mag Attack: 1 Defense: 5 Special Skills: None currently
That's the basic. I will upgrade their Melee Defense, Range Defense, and Magic Defense by 3 each and add 5 HP for the cost of 50 CreaP.
Monster creation form Name: Those Little Bastards Appearance: Gibbons, macaques, spider monkeys, bonobos and other assorted smol bois carrying crude but sharp knives. There may be a baby gorilla or something in there too, if it was smol and deadly enough. Stats (30 points) HP: (5/pt) 20 MP: (3/pt) 18 Melee Attack:15 Melee Defense:1 Range Attack:1 Range Defense:1 Mag Attack:1 Defense:1 Special Skills:
I will upgrade their melee attack by 10 for 50 CreaP and create a skill for 50 CreaP to equip on it. Pending approval, it's "Ride". Like it sounds, it's used to attach to an ally to avoid incoming damage, at the cost of being unable to attack on there.
Monster creation form Name: Clangers Appearance: The primates closest to Barum's heart - fez wearing, cymbal-clanging annoyances keeping the music alive. They bang the damn cymbals together and make shockwaves and music. Stats (30 points) HP: (5/pt)35 MP: (3/pt)30 Melee Attack:1 Melee Defense:2 Range Attack:3 Range Defense:2 Mag Attack:3 Defense:2 Special Skills:
I will upgrade the clangers' ranged attack by 4, magic attack by 3 and their defenses by a single point each for 50 CreaP.
That is 200 CreaP.
From there I will add another 2 to each of the Big Bois' defense stats and 20 to their HP for 100 CreaP. And I will add an additional 8 melee attack and 10 HP to Those Little Bastards for 100 CreaP. And I will upgrade the Clangers' Ranged and Magic Attack by 3 each, each defense by 1 each and HP by 5 for 100 CreaP.
Ultimately, pending approval, these end up looking like
Name: Big Bois Appearance: Thicc and muscular primate bois - mostly gorillas, chimps, and other larger primates, but there might be a big beastly ape in there somewhere. Stats (30 points) HP: (5/pt) 75 MP:(3/pt) 6 Melee Attack: 1 Melee Defense: 10 Range Attack: 1 Range Defense: 10 Mag Attack: 1 Defense: 10 Special Skills: None currently
Name: Those Little Bastards Appearance: Gibbons, macaques, spider monkeys, bonobos and other assorted smol bois carrying crude but sharp knives. There may be a baby gorilla or something in there too, if it was smol and deadly enough. Stats (30 points) HP: (5/pt) 30 MP: (3/pt) 18 Melee Attack: 33 Melee Defense: 1 Range Attack: 1 Range Defense: 1 Mag Attack: 1 Defense: 1 Special Skills: Ride
Name: Clangers Appearance: The primates closest to Barum's heart - fez wearing, cymbal-clanging annoyances keeping the music alive. They bang the damn cymbals together and make shockwaves and music. Stats (30 points) HP: (5/pt)40 MP: (3/pt)30 Melee Attack:1 Melee Defense:4 Range Attack: 10 Range Defense:4 Mag Attack: 9 Defense:4 Special Skills:
This will tap me out to a total of 0 CreaP if approved, leaving me with no reinforcements on my first assault, whatever that is. But I would rather spend CreaP on buffing now and then reap the benefits of stronger reinforcements if I spend CreaP on them later.
