He shakes your hand.

You go to sleep.

You awaken to the sound of someone pounding on the door.  "Miss Kohdyna!  It's Jack.  Your goods are here."

You find a cart laden with all your orders sitting in front of your shop.  "Alright, come on.  Let's get this stuff set up."  He helps you bring it all inside.  "We can do the more advanced stuff later.  For now, let's start with the basics.  You can assign sell prices to all your items in advance, or leave them blank and let customers make you an offer.  For your first batch of goods, I advise trying to make at least 1,200G.  More would be better, obviously, but we don't expect miracles.  All the stuff you bought should sell pretty well.  Alright, you set whatever prices you want and tell me when you're ready to open."

You open the shop.  You get a few curious customers.  Most leave without buying anything.

A nice, older woman waddles over to the counter.  "Oh, eggs.  This is just what I needed for my baking.  These are kind of... they'll serve."

A young man looks a bit lost.  "Hmmm...  Yeah, good enough.  This'll work."  He buys a hoe and watering can.

A young woman comes in around lunch.  "I broke my knife...  I'm such a klutz!"  She picks up a simple cookware set.  "I guess I should replace all the stuff I broke the last week, too..."

The last customer comes in just as you're planning to close.  You recognize Rose immediately.  "Hello, Dear.  I just had to come see your opening day, of course.  You understand."  She pokes around the store a while.  Clearly judging your stock and arrangement and prices.  "Oh, what a... charming... dress," she says with a disapproving frown.  "Though the price seems a bit... much.  What say I give you, oh, 39G for it?"

Jack sits back, watching what you'll do.

"I know how easy these are to get. Really, I'm doing you a favor at 42G."

"Fine, fine," Rose says. "I can deign to spare a few coins."

You complete the transaction and she leaves with one of those finger-wagging waves.

"Mm. That's it for your first day," Jack says. "Come on.  Let's hit the town.  I'll treat you to a round at one of the taverns."

You let Jack take you to one of the taverns.

He goes to the bar, drops some money, and comes back with some booze.

"Coming by the bar after work will cost you a few coins, but it's a good way to get some information.  Could be useful.  Or not."

You overhear a pair of people talking.  "Did you hear that monster attacks are on the rise?"

"Yeah.  The kingdom's stretched thin trying to defend against them all.  And there's been a shortage of new recruits for the guard corps..."

"It's a pretty serious problem.  We used to be able to count on random adventurers to keep monsters in check, but..."

"...Yeah."

"But now they're forming an official Adventurer's Guild!"

"Huh?"

"Mm-hm.  They'll be tracking bounties on strong monsters, buying monster parts, things like that..."

Jack pretends he isn't listening to them, as well.  He takes a sip of his beer, then puts it down.  "That's good for us, too.  We'll be able to buy parts from them at a discount, instead of straight from adventurers.  Never was a reliable system.  The guild's still be established, though..."
