Summoners of Darkness

Dry Bowser starts off by taking his own head off. He then throws it forward, breathing fire. The head bounces around, blazing fire everywhere. The flames reach everyone, but the aura guy seems to have been injured the most from the attack. The fairy looks completely unfazed, if not more energized. The aura guy isn't finished yet. He runs up to the vulnerable head and kicks it into the body. The head just bounces up off of Dry Bowser and the body begins to charge at him. The leader leaps at him, pushing him out of the way and taking the hit for him. She's knocked backward and Dry Bowser positions his head back on his body. The fairy envelopes the girl in a faint light and her wounds are healed. The archer aims an electrical arrow at Dry Bowser, but the arrow deflects off the bones with a clink. Dry Bowser seems like he hasn't even been hit!

Dry Bowser goes inside of his shell while the two he attacked get back to their feet from the attacks. He spins around rapidly as his bones fly out. They all go out at random places, hitting all four of the fighters. The fairy is glowing less brightly, but she restores her health with a flash of light. The girl takes her chance to hit the vulnerable Dry Bowser with a Light Ball. The light blasts apart when hitting Dry Bowser. The scattered bones all shake a bit in pain as Dry Bowser roars. Magic must be his weakness! The other two attack with magic as well, blasting a white aura and a ball of electricity at Dry Bowser. Dry Bowser is able to gather himself together and reassemble.

Dry Bowser starts to attack the same way by going in his shell, but he's interrupted by a storm of magic attacks. Light and electricity flow through him and Dry Bowser falls down. The fairy flies around the guy with the aura with her healing light and fixes his wounds. "Grargh! No fair! You can't heal!" Dry Bowser unleashes a breath of fire. The four heroes are hit, but still stand strong.

Another stream of magic attacks fly into Dry Bowser, knocking him to the ground on his back. He struggles to get up, but despite his efforts, can't. The fairy heals the same guy again while Dry Bowser flails around.

He eventually gets to his feet, but is berthing heavily. "How are you so strong...? It doesn't make sense! I'm supposed to be the best!" Dry Bowser charges forward at the four in an attempt to attack, but electricity and light knock him over onto his face. "Bwargh! Oof!" Dry Bowser attempts to get up, but collapses on the ground again. The leader approaches slowly. Dry Bowser attempts to blow out fire, but it's just a puff of smoke. She decides to end this quickly instead of making Dry Bowser suffer. She quickly jabs the skull with her lance as its coated in light. It pierced right through with a loud crack. "No way...I lost..." Dry Bowser's body stops moving. The motionless skeleton's eyes stop glowing. The last thing Dry Bowser sees is the sad look on the girl's face.

Looks like we have our first dead player character! Don't worry, he'll be fine! When a character dies, it isn't necessarily game over. They will turn back into Link Cubes and return to the Green Link Cube summoner that owns them. They can later be summoned again at the end of the chapter, but will not gain any experience from the battles they were knocked out during. Be careful though. A Green Link Cube summoner can only have up to three active blue or red Link Cubes at a time. If you run out of space, you'll need a new Green Link Cube before returning a defeated ally.

Dry Bowser's body is coated in a red light, shrinking down to a Red Link Cube. The cube is quickly teleported into Iran's inventory without him noticing. He asks for a Deku Mask. "Ah, yes. The Deku Mask. This mask is a very nice one. It gives the wearer the ability to transform into a Deku Scrub version of themselves. It's useful for sneaking into places, but it will replace all of your abilities with Deku Scrub abilities until you change back. Only 300 gold, a special discount since today's a good business day." Iran nods his head and hands over the gold coins. The Deku Mask is quickly put away and the man puts away the coins.

"If you don't mind, I have a few questions before I go."

"Ask away."

"So who are you?"

"I'm just a simple traveling merchant. I go around with my sister to different towns, selling multiple things. My name is Rain. If you ever see me at a shop, feel free to stop by."

"What was that monster with you?"

"Who? Oh, you mean my Pokemon. That's Golem. He helps us carry our stock around. He's also a pretty great Pokemon in general. While he lacks in battle skills, he is quite the exploration partner. He's in the back, organizing some masks we found."

"What does that key do?"

"This one?" Rain shows Iran the purple key. "This key allows us to travel through worlds. It opens up doors to them so we can gather more things. I'd advise against trying to take it though. I don't think you're as experienced with keys as I am. Is that all?"

"Yes, I think I'm done."

"Alright, have a nice day. Come back anytime!" Rain waves as Iran walks out of the shop.

Only a few steps out, Vivian suddenly stops. Iran looks at her to ask what's wrong, but she stares straight ahead. Iran looks over and notices someone in a light just like Vivian's. The only difference is his is white. They both seem to be looking directly at each other. Iran also noticed he's traveling with three others. A girl, an archer, and a fairy. What a strange group.

Meanwhile, Primid is busy getting a name. The Deku Scrub goes through lists of names. "Let's see...Neo? Prime? Hmm...no, those won't work. How about Blamskigegeque?" Primid looks at Deku Link in confusion. "Yeah, not that one either. Hmm...Oh, I know! Raethelio! Or Raeth for short." Primid nods his head and claps happily. He enjoys this name. Now going by Raethelio, the Primid is ready to jail break! Just one problem, he doesn't know how. "Well, first things first, let's come up with a plan."

IRAN & VIVIAN
A. Let's fight them!
B. Tell the Deku Scrubs those people are criminals!
C. Ignore them and move on to the jail for Primid.
D. Ignore them and head on to the ruins.
E. Start a friendly conversation.
F. "Hey, Vivian, who's that?"

I would say and mix of B and C...

What I mean is to bait them into destroying the Prison's wall than tell the Deku Scrubs they were the one to send the Primid. Proof: They liberated him.

D. Let's make sure that Deku Link joins us.

Iran has an idea as he sees the group. He approaches them slowly. "Hello. You must be travelers. There's something important I have to tell you." The Iran looks around and checks for Deku Soldiers. "I don't think there are any Deku Soldiers around. Okay, you might not believe me, but this place is dangerous. The mayor of this town is working with those darkness guys. The townspeople don't seem to know, but the Deku Soldiers are dangerous. For some reason, they'll lock up anyone that isn't a Deku Scrub in jail. They found us and tried to apprehend us, but one of their Primids decided to rescue us. It made it so we could safely escape, but they threw him in jail. We'd feel awful leaving and having him stuck in the jail for so long though. We can't handle those Deku Soldiers all by ourselves either. Please, help us out by saving our friend. If we don't hurry, they might execute him!" The girl seems unsure, but Iran thinks she'll fall for it.

While he waits for an answer, Raeth decides now is a good time to play a game of cards.

Raeth, Pika Plush, and Deku Link all sit in a circle with their cards. It's unknown where the deck of cards came from, but it's assumed they were left behind by a Deku Soldier. They're betting with rocks. So far, Pika Plush is taking in the rocks. He's good. Too good. Is Pika Plush cheating...?

IRAN & VIVIAN

The girl grabs the other Totem and they begin to whisper to each other. Iran and Vivian try to think fast on what to do next as the Totem's whispering becomes audible. "Vivian's a Totem killer. She EATS Totem souls!"

Iran breaks into the conversation. "Oh, don't worry about that. She's changed, honestly! Right, Vivian?"

"Yes, of course! I've changed! I feel guilty about all of those things and now I want to change my ways! Please, I promise I'm different now!" They act desperate for help.

"Alright, I guess we'll help you out."

"Thank you so much!"

"I'm not sure that was the right choice, but I'll stay with you."

"Alright, well, let's get the introductions over with. My name is Dana. I'm a summoner. That's Zyl. He's a Totem. This is 14, the archer. The fairy is Navi. I think that's everyone."

"My name is Iran. I'm a samurai and that's Vivian. I'm guessing you already know quite a bit about her."

"Well now that that's done, let's get going!"

The large group heads on over to the jail, watching carefully for Deku Soldiers and avoiding them. Once they reach the jail, they notice only one Deku Soldier guards the outside. It's also sleeping. Dana summons a hawk to distract it while everyone sneaks inside. The small, wooden jail only has one cell containing two people and a...Pikachu Plush? Everyone enters during a climactic scene with the two jailed people.

A Primid inside points to the Pikachu Plush accusingly and grabs it! Shaking down the plush, the Primid finds out the Pikachu Plush was cheating! It was hiding cards behind its tail! The Deku Scrub in the jail gasps! "You've been cheating all along!" The three playing cards begin a loud argument over who won the most rocks in their poker game. The others are confused as to what they just saw.

After the dramatic scene, Vivian uses her red hot aura to melt away the bars. The Primid jumps up and down in joy, waving its arms around and the Deku Scrub quickly runs out and over to the group. "Thanks! You two saved my life! This Primid here is Raethelio and my name is Deku Link. You can just call me Deku for short." Vivian and Iran exchange a confused glance for a moment before Iran speaks up.

"Okay, let's get out of here. That guard will be back any minute now." Agreeing with a nod, Dana leads everyone back out of the small building. Outside, Dana turns to talk to Iran, but is suddenly knocked backward by a dark magic. Zyl is hit by a blast of fire from the ground and nearly collapses. Raethelio and Deku Link start to run off toward the ruins as Iran and Vivian stand in front of the two they knocked down with an open book and a flaring aura. "Heh, you really are a bunch of idiots. Guards! These people are with Crazy Hand! They just let those criminals escape from jail! Get them! I'll go catch the two that ran away!" Iran and Vivian go charging off towards the ruins. Moving past the gathering of Deku Soldiers, they see Raeth and Deku Link run into the ruins. It looks like even the ruin guards went after Dana.

Entering the ruins, Iran and Vivian meet up with Raeth and Deku Link. "Wow, you guys made them do your work for you and then you made them criminals! You're better than me at tricking enemies!"

"Well, thank you. I find it a useful tool in battle."

"Well, since you saved me, I guess I'll go with you. I can't really go back anyway. I'll just get tossed back in jail!" Deku Link walks near Raeth as the group moves along. Heading deeper into the ruins, the four pass by ancient carvings in a language they don't understand. The guards are all cleared out, so they pass through easily. They do hear fighting going on deeper in the ruins. It could be dangerous...

A. Let's get ready to jump into a fight. Attack first, no matter what it is!
B. Let's get a careful look around the corner...
C. Nothing to worry about. Continue as usual.
