In the skies of the mini-world known as Radiant Garden, a bold pair of adventurers appeared and began to descend. As indicated in Harrow Plains, it was Havel and Haurchefant!
As described there, this world featured a quirky but impressive looking castle with a town full of clockwork gadgetry. Surrounding this was an imposing blue mountain range. It looked like there was some water on the horizon, but that was difficult to verify from this far thanks to the blue color of the mountains.

"Interesting it's like a personal Ixali war-balloon I see now why they enjoy it" Hauchefraunt muses as he and Havel touchdown Havel let's out a dissatisfied grunt. "Yes yes those were those annoying bird thing now where should we head" Hauchefraunt says glancing around the clockwork town (or at least what he could see) almost missing when Havel heads out without him "You just walked off to the castle didn't you" Hauche sighs turning around to notice his companion leaving he rushes off to catch up with his heavily armored fellow.

Havel the Rock and Hasefra
With the mighty but subtlety-free Havel taking initiative, Havelchefant rode downwards, taking in the sight of the spires as they rode towards the castle itself. Mercifully enough, they only triggered a single cannon shot, which came nearby to their path but missed them. The castle gave no further indication aside from firing this projectile (which looked to be solid metal as opposed to a magical blast or anything of the like), and the two were able to land at the front door without incident. Before they can even knock or do anything else, the door (upon which was painted a large question mark shaped keyhole) displays its ability to conduct sound, as a voice emanated from being it. Soft-spoken and female, it asks, "Who are you? This is quite unexpected - none have simply floated down to us on balloons in the past." It seemed like this castle's inhabitants were not brutally hostile like so many of the buildings in good old Lordran. Well, aside from that, there was much to enjoy about this place - the air is nice and cool and breezy, and the overall atmosphere was one of relative quiet and peace. You know, discounting the warning shot. Which was frankly natural, considering what fine construction this castle was. There were literally gardens dotting the area, giving off a sweet but not overbearing scent to everything nearby. Not bad at all.

"Greetings and sorry for the sudden entrance I am Haurchefant Greystone and this is Havel, the Rock and we're here to help" Haurchefant announces. Havel grunts affirmatively "Ohh yes and ideally gather allies and resources to combat the impending threat the Black Lanterns pose to all worlds but, that'll come in due time" Haurchefant adds.

Havel and Haurchefant
"Black Lanterns..." said the quiet voice on the other side of the door. At first there was a kind of long wait, the likes of which would in most cases invite the question of if the person greeting them left. It was almost deafening, with the only thing available to keep it from being totally and extremely awkward being the soothing sounds of nearby fountains operating at high efficiency. The two might have even started thinking of leaving if she had not began speaking once again.
"Okay, I'm going to let you in! Please don't make me regret my choice, as I- I mean, WE have a security system!" She seemed kind of nervous, that was obvious from her voice, let alone her words. Or her body language, as she came into view as the door opened upward. While it was a stranger to both of the adventurers present, somehow this youngish girl seemed like she wouldn't hurt a fly. With a long pink dress and a short red jacket on, it seemed like she was more dressed for cuteness than a fight.
"I knew there was something called a Black Lantern!" she said, despite initial surprise at the intense-looking armor of Havel. "Neither my ally Merlin nor my companion Leon will tell me what they are, and yet I know I heard their voices speak those words. What lantern could give forth darkness instead of light? Does it have anything to do with the... Heartless?" She practically whispered the last word, as if she were afraid whatever it referred to would just pop in at any moment.

Havel reluctantly put Dragon Tooth away as he and Hauchefraunt enter the castle. "While I can't speak for these Heartless I can tell you what I know of the Black Lanterns the way I understand it they aren't as the name suggests lanterns but, instead an acutely nasty breed of undead who spread by bequeathing rings upon corpses and these Lanterns are quite motivated for undead and have found a way out of their world putting us all in danger" Haurchefant explains

H&H
Once the two had entered the building, the door closed behind them. Their greeter began to usher them through a series of well lit but solemn corridors, most of which were painted purple. It was an interesting design, featuring no grand foyer or other dramatic entryway. Instead, as the handsome man with the great ears explained what a Black Lantern was, she nodded and listened attentively.
"They sound horrid. We've had a few problems with living dead, or with people leaving their home worlds and causing trouble, but if Leon is hiding it, then it's nothing like those. You say you're here to spread the word, help and look for resources..." As she turned a corner and flicked on a light switch, she showed off a room featuring numerous barrels and crates. "What did you have in mind? Because I've got a deal in mind. Aeris is what they call me, by the way. Aeris Gainsborough." She curtsied.

Haurchefant bows in return "It's a pleasure to meet you Lady Gainsborough I'll be quite honest I wasn't expecting this to go so well so swiftly for that I thank you greatly I'd be very interested in hearing your proposal first" he replies. Havel grunts Haurchefant seems thrown off by his "words" "That's quite honestly the kindest thing he's said all day you seem to have made a good impression on my companion" He explains

Havel and Haurchefant in a castle storeroom
Aeris put her hands together and looks downward, but smiles. "I think the nature of this deal will explain part of just why I let you in. It didn't hurt that you had helpful information, but what I really saw at the door was two solid looking men who might be able to help. Let me back up, though. Usually, this bubble, known as Radiant Garden, is protected by my allies and I. We've been working to restore the population of the town and protect them from the Heartless, which are monsters that threaten all life in here, the other bubbles, and even out in space. Traditionally, we've tried to keep all the bubbles - regions separated from one another physically - self sufficient, but that also makes defense a challenge. Upstairs, there's a computer from which I can dispatch the local defenders, but lately we've been stretched frighteningly thin. I've been hitting the button to alert my friend Yuffie of a large Heartless outside town, but the Yuffie Button doesn't always work, and not because the computer doesn't contact her." She looked frustrated at that fact.
"On top of that, Leon has been hiding things from me, Merlin's big project is occupying all hours of his time, Tifa and Cloud are off-bubble, Stitch is lost in the walls, Sora is dead out in an alternate dimension, and Tron is not going to cut it if this Heartless makes it to the settlement. Sorry to complain, but that means either I can go, or I can cut a deal with you and hope you're strong adventurers who can win a fight. But that's why I brought you here - to show that we're not resource-poor even though we're thin in numbers. This castle is full of weaponry, armor, synthesis materials, Gummi blocks, provisions and rarer things. If you were to help me out with this one, I would be glad to see if we have something you'd want." Aeris smiled hopefully at the two guys, and asked. "I suppose the answer depends on what you seek, as well."

Hauchefraunt's eyes sparkled and he performed his trademark gesture of approval (to the uninitiated it's like you go to bow but, instead you do a little flex it looks good in motion I swear) "My offer to help was not empty words my companion is much better in combat then conversation and between you and me the scent of adventure played no small part in my decision to join this cause as for rewards we'd be more than pleased by whatever you can offer while Havel refuses to take off that armor of his or change his weapon out he has managed to lose his accessories while wandering the realms and I wasn't able to procure the finest blades or armor when I set off so my portion should be easier to settle a sturdy blade and shield is all I desire" he replies.

Havel and Haurchefant
"Accessories and a blade and shield..." Nodding as she looked at Havel up and down, she came to a solid conclusion. "I think I have something up your friend's alley. I can get that ready while you're out, and Tron can lead you straight to the monster if you'd like - I'm not certain how familiar you are with the area. First, though, allow me to present you with something." Despite her general grace and easygoing smile, Aeris proved to be fairly strong physically, as she picked a staff off the wall, wedged it into a crate and cracked it open as if she were using a crowbar. Rummaging through the objects inside, she hummed a soft tune and behaved as if she were pleased at what she'd found.
Holding them behind her in a possible attempt at looking cute, she pulled a sheathed sword and shield from behind her back. "Ta-da! Once, only a few years back, Radiant Garden was home to many knights. They protected it with wisdom, zeal, and many weapons, ranging from the keyblade, to the staff, to the wand, and even these." Lifting the one handed sword, which was in a sheath painted the same purple as some of the halls but also featuring silver detail work, she exclaimed, "This would have been wielded by a Knight Captain, and the shield..." She lifted that as well, saying "...would have protected that same Knight Captain from threats!" Taking great pride in the set, she added, "Someone took great care to store these, but they should be used by someone who will help protect our realm. Hopefully, this will suit your needs."
Placing the shield down for a moment, the young lady also unsheathed the sword to show it off. Twas constructed of a bright white metal, and it was certainly sharp, though the aesthetic was chunkier than he was used to. Presumably this was just the style of the world, as when it was re-sheathed and handed over along with the shield, it didn't seem to be heavier than a comparable sword would be. It was quite a piece of work, and as for the shield, it was circular in shape, neither miniature in style nor hulking tower shield, and made of the same glimmering material that the sword was. On the front of the defensive piece of equipment was a stylized heart, which the adventurers happened to recognize as similar to one that had been on a door they passed through.
"Whether you need Tron's help to get there or not, I hope your task succeeds." Clearly Aeris was willing to put a decent amount of faith in the two of them, despite just meeting them.

Having tested the weight of the blade Haurchefaunt looked quite pleased "Many thanks Aeris this will do quite nicely I will wield it in honor of those who have gone before we would appreciate the guidance of this Tron being wholly unfamiliar with both our foe and the battlefield" He thanked her. Havel was growing quite impatient with the promise of a fight soon though he kept his mouth shut not that anyone could see it underneath the solid rock he called a helmet.

Two Men Whose Names Begin with H"May light bless you." Aeris held her hands together as if in subtle prayer for the two adventurers that had offered their help. The only other thing she said was, "Bastion OS, run program 02 - please recognize these two as allies to be assisted by our computer system when necessary." "At once, Lady Aeris." A cheerful, but slightly sterile voice added this, and an orb of blue light radiated from the ground on which they stood. "Hello, users! I am Tron, current Master Control Program of Radiant Garden's subsystems. Can I help you?" "Tron, they have to hurry. They've offered to defeat the Heartless you detected. The big one?" She said this hopefully, trying to stop the program from stalling the two. "I will guide them to an appropriate defense location immediately. Right this way, sirs." Without waiting for a response or an introduction, 'Tron''s orb moved along the ground at a fair clip. The two actually had to beat feet to follow it, and though they heard Aeris yelling some encouraging statement behind them, the two weren't able to determine exactly what would. It was unclear whether the strange light would stop moving if they didn't keep up, but neither had the inclination to check. It took them all the way out of the castle, past the gardens and fountains outside, through the main gate (which opened for them), and down into the town, starting with a residential district. Helpfully, as they ran, Tron spoke to H&H. "This is the Residential District. Anyone that doesn't live in the castle takes residence here, including some of Radiant Garden's many hard working defenders. You can always feel safe here, as I am programmed to distract all threatening opponents until more substantial help arrives." It was definitely a male voice, but not necessarily one that inspired a lot of confidence. Still, the homes were both quaint and roomy - high roofs and multiple floors were common even among the smaller houses, and there were visible signs of clockwork technology interwoven into their design. It wasn't Anor Londo in terms of grandeur, but the streets still took a while to cover. They'd likely have made at least a few wrong turns if they hadn't been accompanied, but Tron made sure they were headed in the correct direction. It was not an epic trip, but neither was it a few minutes down the block either. The main vocal interruption Tron included was about the stone local to the town: "The hills and mountains surrounding Radiant Garden are composed principally of krag, a stone of above-average hardness known for its distinctive blue color." Eventually, the hustling butt kickers and their guide made their way through a somewhat extensive town square and its associated neighborhood. "Currently, the square only plays host to basic businesses. The exceptions are those run by Mr. Scrooge McDuck, a long-term benefactor of the city whose vision of the future includes Radiant Garden as an economic powerhouse!" There was no time to stop and shop, but there was time to make it down a few more backstreets on the way to their destination. As they came upon an obvious exit to the town, Tron stopped moving. "Welcome to the Corridors, sirs. These narrow paths head straight out and in between sheer cliffs of krag. Traditionally, Heartless can appear in any location, but you have the advantage of this one having manifested out there. Speculation: Heartless are unfamiliar to new users. Rectification: Heartless are a varied and sundry line of monsters born from the darkness in the hearts of living beings. Ranging from miniscule to towering, they pose an omnipresent threat to all Bubbles despite the hearts of many of them being protected by the user known as Sora. Will you need any additional assistance?" Attachments:
