This fine world plays host to many sights that cannot be seen anywhere else. Yes, even from the skies it is obvious that there are many, many structures around, each of them with a hand-built, unique quality. It's colorful cube-based buildings as far as the eye can see, all oriented around a main street and its many branching alleys and paths. The location upon which the adventurers spawn is smack dab above the town itself, but a simple 360 degree look around provides views of another, different looking settlement. It's not too far away from where you are, and is obviously made with an opposing design styling. While the homey little place below you is spread out far and mostly only a few stories tall at the highest, the white exteriors and bright blue glass towers of that area scrape the sky! In contrast, they all carry similar traits, pointing to a possible common architect. As well, outside the civilized zones, there are obviously a variety of different natural landscapes nearby. Literally different ones - in the distance, a desert looks to be wedged in between a grassy plain and... A jungle?! That can't be right! 'Tis, though, 'tis indeed the reality any of your adventurers will see upon entering this fun-looking world.
Golbez
Golbez entered the sky above this area, and from 'go' it couldn't be more obvious that this world was not the standard fare. Nonetheless, Golbez's experience with scenery that many would call bizarre would serve him well there, even if he was the one sticking out more than anything else. Oh, and he happened to be falling, but not fast enough for it to be dangerous. There was, after all, a pair of red balloons attached to his horns, and they spoke to him in Ms. Granger's voice.
"These balloons will help you land where you want instead of having to walk straight off. They're what's keeping you from going splat - do not pop the balloons. If you pop the balloons and then fail to come up with a way to stick the landing, every single one of your fellows will laugh at you for sucking. You'll likely be dead or at least maimed, though!" Good advice, or restrictive nonsense? Up to the mighty Golbez to decide.
Their benefit notwithstanding, having balloons attached to his horns made him feel less menacing than he usually was.

Taking the advice of the talking balloons to heart, Golbez looks around trying to decide where to land before choosing to land within the smaller town rather than the city or wilderness.

Golbez
As he flew downward into the colorful town, some extremely blocky looking humanoids cheered him on with a few "Woo!"s and that kind of thing. Not quite what Golbez was used to culturally, nor was the "Aww" when the balloons detached. As the dark-armored man got a closer look at them, their species became clear - they were the same type of 'human' that the business suit lady working the Hearthstone table was. That actually answered not that much, but it was a good confirmation that he wasn't in the wrong place or anything. The location, despite not being massive sizewise, was somewhat overwhelming - even though cubes and flat rectangles were definitely the main building pieces used for the town, literally each and every building had its own unique architecture and style. Some were cute little shacks made of wood, others bigger, two or three story block towers, but there were even far stranger locations, including one that Golbez swore looked like a purple octopus. Hadn't he heard about something like that existing? Well, if he had, this was a different purple octopus - it was made of wool, and had a door, for one.
"Coming through!"
One of the blocky people came barreling down the street, making a beeline for Golbez. Aside from the fact that it had a hairstyle pushed up on one side, this one's green jacket and nervous demeanor were his most identifying characteristics. Once he was within speaking range with the adventurer, he asked, "Excuse me... Did you come from a place called Harrow Plains? I'm supposed to help anyone from there out while they're here in Beacontown! Oh, and, uh... Welcome to Beacontown! It's named after the beacon! And I'm Radar! Named after, uh... Radar."
He then pointed to a platform which was projecting multiple streams of colored light straight up into the sky. Quite nice, really.

The enthusiastic cheers of the crowd below was certainly a different welcoming than Golbez was used to, but not entirely unwelcome. The sight of a man running up to him gave him pause, but fortunately the blocky fellow simply wanted to give him advice, not to pick a fight. In response Golbez reached a single hand out, offering a handshake. "Golbez. Yes, I'm from Harrow Plains."

Golbez
Surprisingly, even without visible fingers of any kinds, Radar was able to grip Golbez's hand and shake. "Wow, you're even more impressive than I expected any of them to be. Well, I hope our world is everything you hope it could be and more. This is Beacontown, founded by Jesse only about 6 months ago! We've got everything you and your allies could need to help get ready for the... Uh..." He actually shivered. "You know whats. Our home is full of magic, good fighters, and mines with more resources than you could even imagine! Not to mention endless adventure outside the safety of our walls!" He looked around and sighed with happiness just admiring the town and its buildings. "Is there anything I can help you with, or did you want to find things on your own? I know this place like the back of my hand, just saying."
Pretty helpful guy, it seemed. Either he was used to people in armor or he just wasn't easily intimidated by Golbez types.

Pending Post (ignore if Isaac and Ridley don't come right away)
Upon touching the stone they had in Boot Hill, Isaac and Toy Ridley ended up in the skies above a world far more like something Ridley might have a connection to. Overall though, it was foreign entirely, and as described in the initial post of this thread. With balloons attached to them, they receive a message.
"These balloons will help you land where you want instead of having to walk straight off. They're what's keeping you from going splat - do not pop the balloons. If you pop the balloons and then fail to come up with a way to stick the landing, every single one of your fellows will laugh at you for sucking. You'll likely be dead or at least maimed, though!"
Well, Ridley could fly, but Isaac couldn't, could he? Helpful either way.

---Fun fact---
(Isaac's boots have tiny rockets which he can use to fly, but he can only activate that with special pads or when he's in anti-gravity.)
---Actual post---
Isaac waves at the carpenters, while giving one last look at the clothes shop... Maybe he'll get out of this armor one day... He walks to the cemetary in question and looks for "blocky-looking buildings". Toy Ridley is unhesitant, touching the stone immediately. As Isaac sees him disappears, he shrugs and touches the stone himself.
At first he is blinded by everything becoming blue. Sky blue. As he protects his eyes with his arms from the sudden change of light, he realises he doesn't feel anything under his feet, but doesn't really feel like falling too. He then hears the message and looks up to see the balloons. Toy Ridley seems to be enjoying this ride...
"Well... That's definitely happier than what I'm used to... Alright... The mines... The mines..."
Isaac presses a few buttons on the back of his right hand, then puts it forward. A really thin holographic line comes out of it and goes all the way to the mine... It can probably be seen by anyone looking at the sky, but balloons are already not subtle. Isaac is not expecting any foe for the moment. He follows the line guiding him.

Isaac Clarke and Toy Ridley
Indeed, the town was absolutely what anyone would call 'cheerful'. Things were fresh and appealing looking, despite the fact that, true to the description, everything was blocky. Not to say that there were nothing but cubes about - Beacontown was also composed of rectangular prisms and lines and the like as well fleshing out the appearance of the place. Even the sun in the sky was a cube, as a simple look at it could verify. What was missing was any sort of rounded surface - Isaac looked all around as he followed his technology to the mine, which had been quite simple for it to locate since it wasn't terribly far away. The only attention it drew was positive, with the flat-edged locals whooping and cheering him on in spite of his exotic appearance, which would seem quite weird to them. These humanoids weren't racist against non-rectangle/cube based lifeforms, that much could be seen. His path took him away from the multicolored beams being projected into the air, but that was fine - they seemed decorative.
The trip to the mines (and the ground) were brief, and it occurred to Isaac that with the pressure of his weight being relieved by the balloon, his rockets could probably be used to guide himself around quicker in the future. Obviously, the mines (labeled as 'Beacontown Mines' by a wooden sign) were largely underground, and numerous simple minecarts were prepared for the use of those entering them - they were on rails, which headed both forward and downward. Despite the cozy fit, it seems that Toy Ridley would just barely be able to squeeze into a cart. Screw anyone who says any Ridley is too big for things! As well, nearby to the little square vehicles, there were a series of signs that conveyed some vital information.
"Upper Levels - Safe, mostly stone, some coal, rare iron"
"Mid Levels - Some monsters, metals, redstone, lapis lazuli, rare diamonds"
"Sweet Spot - MANY monsters, substantial metals and rare materials, uncommon diamonds"
"Near Bedrock - Bizarre properties, varied contents"
These were the contents of the signs. Quite a helpful guide to determine how far to ride the carts.

Isaac looks around in confusion.
"They talked about cubic buildings... That made sense... I didn't expect EVERYTHING to be cubes though... Am I being affected by another Marker?"
Toy Ridley responds with beeping noises.
"Right... We'll fix that soon... Let's get our bearings."
Go to the upper levels.

Isaac Clarke and Toy Ridley
Apparently, all that Isaac and Ridley had to do to activate the minecarts were lean forward, which each of them did. Gravity soon took hold of them, and they each traveled next to one another as their carts proceeded down tracks identical to a bunch next to theirs. It was evident that the path they were on had been carved out of the natural stone, and they only had to pass a few torches to reach the area expected. According to another sign, they'd reached the "Upper Levels", which at the moment consisted of a quite roomy cavern that had been/was being carved out, in which there were a few of the blocky humanoids dressed in either casual clothes or 'traditional' mining gear with a helmet, coveralls, etc. It seemed they were using iron or stone pickaxes to break away layers of the natural stone. The process was relatively fast, and in a short amount of time Isaac was able to see a few of them get a piece of coal or iron, but it seemed they were mostly after the stone itself. A few acknowledged Isaac, but most were just kind of chilling. It was evident that both the style of mining and the people working there weren't too taxing in any way, and there was nary a monster in sight. It looked like an easy place to find some simple materials - nothing difficult to work with.
Team Golbez
Radar smiled widely and seemed excited at the question. "Wow, that's a big one! Ms. Granger said this entire world is full of magic, and that the crafting and even just the physics around here are dripping with the stuff! It's kind of all I've ever known, though. Maybe you can answer this - is it true that if you build something outside of this dimension, and take away the foundation you built it on, the top part of whatever you built won't stay?" Suddenly, he caught himself, and looked downwards. "Actually, nevermind. That's not an important question, and you... You don't look like you're a big fan of trifles. More to the point, Beacontown has a few people that know a lot about magic. But... I think they kind of all live in the same direction. So..." The suddenly somewhat nervous guy began walking while continuing to make eye contact with Golbez. He kept speaking, and explaining who they were. "Jesse's the leader around here and knows about more magical artifacts than you could imagine. He's an adventurey guy, not unlike Harper, who... Well, she's some kind of portal specialist, I hear. I've... never actually met her."
Radar's blocky cheeks blushed as he admitted that, but he tried to play it off by saying, "Oh, but I have met Ivor! He's from the original Order of the Stone- Oh, you don't know who that is. Well, he's kind of a spooky, long hair guy who does things like brew weird potions, enchant lots of things as a hobby, and invent new artifacts. He's probably the closest to a witch like your founder."

Isaac looks around and acknowledges the miners, but since the three necromorph invasions, Isaac wasn't the biggest fan of "socializing". He uses his tk module to rise the minecart from the tracks, then drops it next to a wall. Isaac starts shooting the wall with his Plasma Cutter and lets what falls inside the minecart fall into it.
Toy Ridley looks around for some monsters... Just in case. He seems to be eager for action, unlike Isaac.

Isaac and Ridley
Unsurprisingly, Isaac's Plasma Cutter is plenty strong to slice into the wall. A he applies its slicing power to raw stone, it breaks up into individual cubes of cobblestone. It was a fast and easy process for IC, and he was able to shave off many blocks of the wall he had chosen. This was repeatable a few times before repositioning the minecart was done, which he did. Each layer he sliced off in his convenient and efficient pattern revealed at least a few pieces of coal, or some iron. It didn't take very long for the spot Isaac was mining to become fairly dark, but he was an extremely brave man, his life experiences acclimating him to a life in the dark. The work was lighter than he was used to, but sooner than later something happened that he wasn't expecting. As he cut pieces off the wall in front of him, a green-skinned blocky humanoid began shambling over towards him and Toy R, moaning unpleasantly as he (she?) approached them arms outstretched.
"Uhnnnnnnnnnnnnn..." it said unintelligibly, its 'speech' reflecting its eyes - a simple lifeless black.
Acquired 3 stacks stone (roughly), half stack coal, quarter stack iron ore.
*A stack of Beacontown materials consists of 64 units each

The lifeless eyes of the humanoid triggers something in Isaac... He could recognizes an animated corpse a mile away. He point his favorite mining tool at the zombie, make sure it is in horizontal mode, then shoots at both legs, trying to cut off these two limbs...
That is what Isaac is used to do after all. Before he can shoot to cut more limbs, Isaac is startled by the purple object flying right next to it's face, stabbing the zombie's torso, then retracting.
It seems Toy Ridley can shoot it's tail like a weapon... Isaac is going to need to get used to having a partner...
Isaac takes a few steps back to make sure the enemy is not coming back up.

Isaac Clarke and Toy Ridley
Yes, this was certainly something Isaac and Ridley were both exceptionally well equipped for. The shirt-wearing shambler's legs went out from under it like he was chopping through salted butter, which in addition to the obvious physiological response, caused it to flash red. This was strange, but in combination with the fact that it didn't produce fluids or guts or anything like that, it made sense. However, the even bigger surprise came when Toy Ridley's tail stabbed straight through the core of the mob. This was almost overkill, as evidenced by the shaking and red glowing that Isaac presumed were the zed's expression of pain, but it was impressive nonetheless, as once the projectile retracted, the average undead literally popped. In its place stood a piece of obviously rotting flesh, just suspended there.
"Psst, mister." A very young looking local miner said to the tech wielder. "You're s'posed to light up the parts you mine out." The little gal placed a few torches much like the ones lighting the way down in just the right spots to provide maximum coverage. "You look very different from us, so you might not know - darkness means monsters, A little bit isn't a problem, but the strong abscence of light lets them just pop in, the way that one did." Then she dropped a half stack of the torches in your duo's general direction, saying, "These should be helpful. If you need to make your own, it's just sticks and coal at a crafting table. They don't burn away or anything, either!"
Interesting info, and also quite a handy object - points of individual light that just stayed there static, all just from wood and coal? This world clearly had a lot to offer!
Acquired half stack of torches.
