Isaac kneels, trying to understand how the monster just disappeared... He's trying to find a piece of it... Monsters don't disappear like that. He puts the floating flesh into his inventory to see what his RIG analyzes from it, then discards it. Isaac activates the flashlight from his weapon and shines down the tunnel.
"Thank you for the information, it's really appreciated... I think have have a lot to learn about this... world? Stone is okay, but I was looking for something more like Iron... Got some, but not enough for my tastes. I'm thinking about going one level down. Would you like to be my guide, if you please?"

"Thank you for the information, it's really appreciated... I think have have a lot to learn about this... world? Stone is okay, but I was looking for something more like Iron... Got some, but not enough for my tastes. I'm thinking about going one level down. Would you like to be my guide, if you please?" Yes, neither the severed legs nor the intact upper bits showed any indication of continuing to exist, except the Rotten Flesh, which Isaac didn't need wasting his time. The young miner doesn't even wait a hot second before answering, "Yup! This place is a little dull to begin with, and I'm sure you can handle the next tier if you know what's coming." Walking towards the carts once again, Isaac transported his, resources intact therein, back to the main tracks. The little one rode alongside him and the mats, squeezing in and making it difficult to stop where they'd planned. Thankfully, they were still able to avoid overshooting, and they stopped at the main 'station' of sorts for the mid-levels. Down there were some stairs to others levels also considered to be 'mid', as well as a corridor branching away from the simple platform that had many individual branching corridors, each fairly thin and kind of wide. The mining girl explained, "Okay, it's like I tell any adult that's trying mining and needs a kid's help. There are a few major ways to mine, and they change depending on how far down you are. Around where we are, there are mobs, but not too many, so a lot of people like to mine paths one block wide and fairly high. There still is a chance that you'll mine into a pocket of monsters, but you probably won't get buried in them here. If we're going in, two wide would probably be the safest. But, you know, you're the one with the cool tool! You can mine any pattern or lack thereof, really!" "I'm Trish, by the way! Have you ever heard of my channel? TrishTheBest?" The short caucasian-equivalent youth looked up to Isaac hopefully.

(I've got to start getting some updates in, I've procrastinated on it way too long.) "Very well then, could you take me to meet Ivor?"

Golbez and the Fiends (not currently present I guess lolz)
Eager to help, the bow-tie clad young man continued walking, pointing toward their goal. "It's just over there, actually. Since he's a famous hero adventurer, he has prime real estate near the Beacon! Maybe someday you or one of your allies will get a choice place to throw your pad up!" He opened his mouth in a wide smile and nodded at Golbez hopefully, before finishing off leading him to a home. Unlike many buildings, which followed typical architectural ideals, the home of the man known as Ivor was a floating fort built to resemble a skull, with windows for eyes and a door as its 'nose'. Instead of stairs, there was a ladder from ground level directly to the nose, but it was surrounded on either side by a steady stream of real lava! Though it pooled somewhat harmlessly looking on the ground, and it didn't heat up the area nearby to extreme levels, Radar whispered "Be careful. He's not really allowed to use lava in town, but whenever we ask him to change it he pits a fit. I'll get out of your hair, now, unless you need anything else."
Golbez now had a few options for approach. The ladder was obvious, but he'd have to be careful. On the other hand, there were also some fake tentacles poking out of the skull, which seemed like they could be navigated to reach the door. If he could reach the tentacles. Or he could do anything he wanted, since this was Gates, baybay!

Hmm... is it possible to just levitate up to the door? It's one of many abilities not seen in the original game (on behalf of, y'know, being a SNES RPG) but instead from Dissidia along with short range teleportation and, well, anything that isn't basically just Black Magic, Barrier Shift and summoning.

Gol(d)bez
Of course! The lava, despite being completely exposed and an obvious hazard, is also most likely decorative touch and not some kind of cruel trap. Golbez is able to pass by without risking his own safety, and takes to the air to do so. He levitates up to the floating skull, less intimidated than some others would be by its darker variety of stone and blue crystalline accents it was dotted with. The door was both wooden and unlocked, as evidenced by it opening the moment Golbez applied pressure to knock.
Instantly, a voice came through from another room deeper within. "Who's there? I don't have ANY appointments today, just brewing scheduled. And I don't like surprises!" Its owner entered the front room (which had nothing but a few seats and a wooden table inside), and it was, as Radar had described, a spookyish pale block man with long black hair and a goatee. Though he had a glowing blue sword in one hand and a bright green potion in the other, he didn't attack Golbez with either. His eyebrows shot up upon seeing the impressive armor the G man had on, and he exclaimed, "Very nice set! For the first way-offer to come to my place unannounced, I guess I could have done worse!" Putting the sword and potion away, Ivor moved around the room to get a better look at Golbez. "So, does it have a name? I usually name my suits of armor. For that matter, do you have a name? I guess you know mine, or you wouldn't be here. I am Ivor! Greatest of the Order of the Stone and Greatest of the New Order of the Stone!" In addition to thrusting his fists into the air as he introduced himself, the guy also motioned for Golbez to shut the door behind him. That's one way to invite someone in, I guess.
