You finish filling out your sign up form and making your avatar before you appear on a very plain looking island. It's completely empty aside from some grass and some automatically inserted things you can't get rid of like the Vitmon Shop and the Teleporter. Liz appears in front of you. "Hey there! Welcome to Vitmon Mini! Looks like you signed up for a...psychic element Vitmon? Alright then!" Liz snaps her fingers as multiple digital bits float down from the sky and materialize together into a tiny, spherical creature on the ground. Its body is clear and squishy, but it has mysterious energy waves floating around it. It's got two swirly eyes. It's kind of cute. It looks up at you and spins around before falling over. "Huh. This little guy's kind of eccentric. Actually, is it a guy or a girl...? I can't really tell. I'll let you pick. Either way, you can check up on info about your Vitmon from the menu."
Liz snaps her fingers as her own menu pops open with a holographic display. "Using this menu, you can do all kinds of things. Check to see information on your Vitmon, change the layout of your island, manage accessories, entertainment items, and even food. You can also change the names of your Vitmons and the name of your island if you want." She closes the menu and points over at the teleporter. "That over there is a teleporter. You can use it to travel to your friends' islands, explore ruins with your Vitmons, or go to Vitmon Park, where you can raise your Vitmons with other players." She points to the shack. "That's the Vitmon Shop. You can change its appearance to fit your island however you like, but you can't get rid of it. That's where you can buy new Vitmons and all kinds of things for your Vitmon to wear or play with. That should about cover it."
Liz bows to you. "If you need anything, just push the help button in your menu window!" Almost as suddenly as she appeared, she disappears in a flash of teleportation light.

Hmm are so your Vitmon.
Your awfully cute aren't you.
Pick up the Vitmon. I shall name you Grace.
Cuddle Grace the Vitmon.
Hmm how about some Floofy friends.
Charles will create some Eevee like dogs/foxes/etc for grace to play with.

You create some Eevees on your plain island and watch as Grace plays around with them for a bit.

When she returns to you, you notice she's got some fox-like ears now. The group of Eevees that you made all seem to be wandering around the plain island by themselves now, exploring it. Grace is spinning in circles...

Grace snuggles into your arms as you cuddle her and seems happy.

Okay then well how about we build you a libary.
Charles will create an extravagant looking libary filled with all sorts of books and smart looking things.
The head librarian can be a Cos Play Pikachu in her clever form.

You create a library on the island, causing it to raise up out of the ground. The Eevees jump off the building as it pops up and soon there's a large, elegant library with multiple stories inside. You walk in and find Cosplay Pikachu wearing a graduation cap and lab coat along with swirly glasses. "Pi Pikachu." She adjusts her glasses.
Grace excitedly runs in and starts picking books off the shelves and flipping through them. You can't really tell if she can read, but she seems to be having fun.

Cosplay Pikachu walks over in a huff and picks up the books, putting them back up on the shelf.
