Your name is...Xander. That seems right. You stand, trying to remember more. You're very...intuitive. Your ability to investigate situations is impeccable. Almost like a detective. You know how to analyze a situation and determine which outcomes will yield the best results. You're also...very agile. You've been trained in acrobatics. You can pull off some very impressive feats. You're also very good with words. Capable of convincing others to do what you say and reasoning with people to get what you want.

You can remember these small details, but the full story of who you were and why you're here seems lost. You're uncertain why you're here or who you really are.

"Your data has been saved."

You pull out what looks like a phone from your pocket. It seems to be...talking to you. "Hello, Master. My name is Auri. I will be functioning as your guide. You seem lost. Is there something I can help you with?"

You have so many questions...where would you even begin?

"What do you mean my data was saved?"

"Saving and Loading is a feature detailed within the contract. When you Save your data, you bookmark the current point you are at. You may then choose to Load your data, returning to the bookmarked point whenever you please. Should the holder of the contract die, the Load feature will automatically activate. Please keep in mind that once you Save, you cannot go back before that point. Every new Save overrides an old Save. This feature does not, however, make you invincible. Should you die to someone else holding the Save and Load feature, they will be able to Save your death, permanently overriding your Load and killing you."

You stare at the phone, still uncertain of what it means, but it seems you have the ability to...time travel? That's...ridiculous.

You turn your attention to the abandoned factory. There's a lot of shut down machinery in here. Or...the machines should be shut down. You realize that they're actually on. The arms move quickly, assembling...weapons, maybe? This place must be shut down though. It's in horrible condition and very dusty. In fact, most of the windows are broken.

"Master, I sense a demon nearby. Please, proceed with caution."

You think about saving your data and before you ask Auri or even do anything on the phone, she responds to you. "Your data has been saved."

"Thank you-"

"Loading..." In a bright light, you feel strange as everything turns back.

...

You find yourself standing just seconds ago in the same spot. "...What just happened?"

Auri responds. "Another one of the contract holders initiated a load directly after you saved. It appears the others are struggling a bit."

"Others...? What do you mean by others?"

"You are not the only one to have signed the contract. There are seven of you in total. Your Save and Load states are all stored within the same data components, so when one of you Saves, all of you Save and when one of you Loads, all of you Load." You try to wrap your head around the concept. "In a way, you are all connected."

"Okay, well, who are they?"

"Hm...I cannot say for sure. When the contract was signed, I was split into seven different instances so I could watch over each of you and act as a guide."

"I see..." This all seems very strange...

You decide it's best to start exploring for now. You head further into the factory, passing by the functioning machinery. It seems to be assembling a variety of firearms on a conveyor belt. You momentarily consider picking one up, but...these are incomplete. Only half put together. Even if you grabbed one, it couldn't possibly help you at the moment. You continue onward, walking along the conveyor belt until you open the door to the next large corridor.

More machinery all over the place, moving at a hectic pace and assembling weapons. "Master, look out!" You hear something whistling behind you and duck just in time as it swooshes overhead. As you gather your bearings and look back up, you notice a bird-like creature flying in place in front of your face. It's small, only about the size of your palm. It takes a humanoid form with the head of a crow along with crow wings and talons, but wears regal clothing and carries with it a sharp sword.

"Mwaheheheh! Tell me, human! What must I do to acquire these firearms? Kill you!?"



"What!? I don't know what you're talking about! Are you a...talking bird!? What the...!?"

The bird finds your antics hilarious. "Ahahaha! Humans! Such Unknowing creatures! My name is Camio. I come in search of the weapons produced here. Now surrender your factory or perish!" Camio points his sword at you as wind begins to swirl about in the room.

Auri speaks to you. "Master, be careful! You must negotiate your way past this demon. It is too fast to flee from!"

You stare down the bird, deciding how best to handle the scenario.

"Your data has been saved." One of the others must have activated the Save feature...

"Let's make a deal." You step forward. "You want the factory? Well, give me your contract and I'll get it for you. This isn't mine, but with our combined powers, we can take the factory for ourselves. In fact, I want nothing to do with this factory. Give me your contract and it's all yours along with all the weapons inside."

"Hmm...So you want to exchange this factory for a contract? Very well then..." Appearing in a burst of blue flames, a contract appears before you, signing itself before burning away in the same flames. "The contract is sealed. You can access my power, but I expect to take full control of this factory."

You are pleased with this outcome and feel the demon's magic flow through you. You'll be able to use one of its abilities now. "Alright then. First things first, we should find a way to secure the factory. Auri, scan for more demons."

"Master, there appears to be one significant source of power within this factory. You should be able to find it if you follow the assembly line."

"That must be the one that's in control..."
