Welcome to HUNTERS, an organization put together to eliminate and capture dangerous intergalactic criminals. As a trained pilot applicant, you have been selected to join a HUNTERS squad. Working with your teammates, you will keep the galaxy safe from alien threats and criminals and will be rewarded handsomely for your efforts. Before we continue, let’s go over the various roles required for your registration.
Each HUNTERS team contains one of all twelve different roles, keeping each team balanced and well equipped for any situation. This means that you take up one of these roles.
Commander - Learns tactical abilities
The commander is known as the leader of the squad. Commanders are expected to use their tactical prowess to aid their allies and give them a necessary edge in battle.
Knight - Learns defensive abilities
The knight’s main objective is to protect the squad from incoming attacks using blocks and shields. A frontline unit that prefers combat to be up close and personal.
Berserker - Learns physical offensive abilities
The berserker will battle enemies at close range with powerful physical attacks, working directly with the knight. Their focus is on destroying enemies efficiently.
Ranger - Learns ranged offensive abilities
A ranger functions similar to a berserker, but will battle from the backline. Ranger’s are a squad’s firearm specialist and should be trained in a variety of firearms and long range battle equipment.
Rogue - Learns abilities that maximize movement and agility
Rogues focus on using their agility and stealth to gain an edge in battle. They prefer to dodge incoming attacks rather than block and will often take up the role of stealing from enemies or sneaking up on enemies. They prefer quick attacks and mobility to high damage and defenses. Rogues can often take up the mantle of scout for a team in certain situations.
Mage - Learns magical offensive abilities
A mage is one who has tapped into the mystical properties of their element. They are capable of reading and understanding ancient glyphs and sigils. Mages act in part as archaeologists and in part as mystical magicians that use their control of their element to aid their allies in battle.
Psychic - Learns psychic abilities
A psychic is similar to a mage, but with more of a utility purpose. They do not command control over any magical element, but they have unlocked special abilities through their minds. Psychics gain all manner of useful skills such as telekinesis, levitation, and mind reading, which can be greatly useful in and outside of battle.
Medic - Learns healing abilities
A medic’s number one concern is the health of the team. They heal allies using a variety of medicine. It is also their duty to perform basic health checks and take care of injured or sick teammates when out in the field.
Hexer - Learns debilitating abilities
An archetype of the mage role, hexer’s are mages that have taken to a darker form of magic used to weaken foes, helping their allies from behind. Hexers are expected to have the same archeological knowledge of mages, but with a greater focus on speaking with the dead.
Engineer - Learns support abilities
Taking to the back, the engineer focuses on helping allies from the sidelines. They use their machines and technology to boost allies while also keeping maintenance on team mechs and equipment. It is their job to make sure the ship is running. Engineers are also capable of accessing computer terminals and hacking enemy electronics for information.
Explorer - Learns utility abilities
Explorers are the least combat oriented role. Explorers are not expected to take part in battle, but rather help with survival in the wilderness and on uncharted planets. Explorers have a wide array of skills they use to help with survivability from tracking to sensing traps. Furthermore, explorers are often the chefs aboard ships and can easily find food for survival.
Dragoon - Learns powerful, but risky abilities
Easily the most dangerous role, dragoons unleash powerful abilities that will leave them vulnerable for a certain amount of time afterward. It is up to their allies to protect them during these periods and give them an opening when they are active. Only experienced or high level HUNTERS are given the role of dragoon.
Now that you understand your role and your teammates’ roles, let’s get you started with signing up as a HUNTER. Please fill out the information below.
Name: (What is your pilot’s name?)
Role: (What is your pilot’s role? You cannot pick a role someone else has chosen. Knight, Berserker, Mage, Archer, Medic, Psychic, Explorer, Dragoon, Hexer, Rogue, Engineer, Commander)
Constellation: (What constellation was your pilot born under? You cannot pick a constellation someone else has chosen. Vulpes, Cetus, Falco, Ictis, Testudo, Aranea, Hydra, Lupus, Leo, Equus, Draco, Noctua)
Age: (What’s your pilot’s age?)
Gender: (What’s your pilot’s gender?)
Appearance: (What does your pilot look like? Alien races are fine for aesthetic purposes, but keep in mind that your pilot shouldn’t have innate abilities a human wouldn’t have. The only exception to this rule is with certain roles. Mages can use magic, psychics have psionic abilities, etc.)
Background: (How did your pilot become a part of this squad? Most pilots go through training at an academy, but there are certain exceptions at times. Is your pilot a recent graduate or a veteran that’s been working with many squads for years? Connections to other pilots is encouraged.)
Now that your registration is complete, your mission will be assigned. You are being sent to inspect a mysterious time-space anomaly is section II of quadrant IV. The readings have been off the charts for no explicable reason. We’re expecting that this issue could cause problems in the future, but is likely the result of a malfunctioning satellite. Simply repair the satellite and return. This is a very simple mission and will only require a day or two to complete.
If you have any questions, feel free to submit them.
