The medic sighs. "We probably should have done introductions of some kind..."

You look over the notes again. Reading each detail carefully. So you're checking on a space-time anomaly in a specific section of known space. It could mean anywhere from 1 to 2 days looking at that quadrant, but you notice that the specific coordinates point to the ship reaching its destination in about less than half an hour. It's likely that this is simply the product of a broken or malfunctioning satellite and there's nothing particularly dangerous or urgent about the mission. As such, you've only been given basic equipment with nothing special.

Aya stares at the notes more. Realization slowly dawns on her that she didn't double-check the navigation data and she freezes. Then goes sprinting back to the bridge.
She arrives out of breath and panting. "H-hi... I...ya. Aya," she pants. "Go over... mission objectives... Anomaly. Prob'ly sat'lite." She points to the engineer. "Fix?"
She doubles over to catch her breath.

Everyone
The captain seems out of breath, but suggests that the Engineer fix the broken satellite. 227 nods. "That seems to be the most logical course of action."
Lyko stares at the commander. "...Uh. Yeah. Duh."
Zazel crosses his arms and looks at Lyko. "Don't be rude! She's our commander!"
"I'm not, she's just saying things that are stupidly obvious."
"That's rude!"
The medic sighs. "How do you expect to complete a mission if you can't even get along?"
"...!" The ranger, watching out the window, waves an arm, attempting to catch the attention of the others.
"What is it?" The rogue turns their attention toward him. "...I see."
Looking out the window, the broken satellite comes into view. But...attached to the satellite is an amorphous, writhing mass of shadowy...stuff.
"A black hole!" Zazel blurts this out before Lyko bops him on the head.
"No, you idiot! It's the anomaly!"
"What is that? I've never seen anything like it." The medic moves closer to the window.
As you all look at the strange anomaly, a mechanical sound comes from it, shaking the entire ship. Multiple shadow tentacles split off of the anomaly and latch onto the ship, pulling it closer. "We have to do something or it will tear us apart!" The rogue shouts this while making their way over toward the hangar. The ranger sticks close to the them.
"Wh-What do we do!?" Zazel begins to panic.
The medic attempts to keep a calm facade. "Just stay calm. It looks like they went off to the hangar. Of course...We might be able to fight off the enemy using our mechs!"
"It's better than dying on this hunk of junk!" Lyko charges off to the hangar.
Zazel looks over at Commander Aya, at a loss for words. 227 watches her as well. "I will await your orders, commander!"
The medic shakes his head and follows after the others, motioning for everyone else to follow him. "There isn't much time. Hurry!"

(Stupid question but does the mech do the same thing for everyone despite class or is each mech optimized due to our class? Like the berserker mech has better offensive capabilities, etc.?)
Christina shrugs and non chalantly makes her way towards her mech.

Max lights up. She runs for her mech. "If you guys get the anomaly off the satellite then I can fix it!" She shouts behind her.
Max will try to avoid confrontation and wait for a chance to fix the satellite.

You get to your mechs and launch out of the hangar! As you do so, the creature releases your ship, no longer intent on tearing it apart, but rather focusing on tearing your mechs apart!
"This is Investigation Unit 227 requesting permission to engage." 227's voice can be heard on the comm.
"Permission to-!? What the hell!? It's trying to kill us! Of course we can engage!" Lyko shouts at him through the comm.
"Reminder that all members of the squad can hear you. Stop yelling." The medic seems annoyed with Lyko's antics.
"Sorry...!"
"Focus on the mission. Our target is that shadowy creature. Let's take it down." The augmented voice of the rogue comes through.
The shadowy creature lets out another metallic screech as its appendages release the ship and squirm around.

Aya chimes in. "Right, um! Those of you experienced with combat, take point! Rookies, stay back and focus on, uh, the tentacles?"
OK, what type of weapon systems are these models equipped with...? Blade, blaster... standard armor... Got it.
Aya moves forward and fires from mid-range.

That and I haven't had a chance to check the ship's dossier yet. Does it even have weapons...?
