((Not gonna be my best work, but here it is))
Iemanis was quite sure his plan would work. He had thought it through very carefully. The war spider was marching up to the enemy base.
Suddenly, an alarm sounded, and flying snails began to rain hot tea and explosive octopuses down on the arachnids. Iemanis hadn't planned for this. He calmed his troops down the best he could, and had his hunters begin to fire at the snails, but they were having quite a hard time hitting the enemy, the plane snails were fast and flew high!
Just as things were beginning to even out, random people began to fall out of the sky and explode! They were jumping into the larger groups of troops, killing many of them before the Bomb Beliebers could be disabled.
Things were looking badly, and they had not were only close to the factory! The defenses began firing, and Spiders began aim for the operators, the buckets were harder to aim for, but the operators of the gatlers tea defense system were being shot down.
Without further delay, three large snails came out of the factory, they began to cut down hordes of spiders, but just then, the War Spyder came in with fresh troops! It to began to take a beating. The snails were just to powerful, and after a barrage of fireworks, tea, and fire, the War Spyder was split on half by a large explosion, which had come form the interior.
Iemanis called for a retreat, he had lost his main system of transport, and most of his troops along with it. They had never even made it to the factory.

So, I didn't think Ultra's plans nor force had been clever enough for this battle. The plan wasn't a bad one, but he is force was lacking against three hundreds days of elites/heroes. He didn't try to make up for it with clever tricks or stealth, he attempted a full on frontal assault in the daylight, and was easily spotted.
He had planned for ground attacks, not any air assaults,and had planned to clear the frontal lines of Pie's troops before attacking defenses. Pie's frontal forces were all air units. Ultra was forced to keep moving, as it seems he had not counted on air units.
When he had finally made it to the front area, he was facing over 300 days worth of enemies, the majority of it in elites/heroes. He had planned to retreat once the War Spyder was destroyed. The War Spyder was large target, as was easily taken out by the enemy. He hadn't sent anything really capable of fending of the larger units, either. He had also planned to pick up dead bodies in the war Spyder once it had finished moving troops onto the battlefield. It never got finished doing that.
Pie also had more adequate plans for the situation.
