(Oh jeez, i hope one of my games makes and appearance.)
Name:Quasar Xuinton Race: Troll (Homestuck) Trolls are mostly humanoid, but with with a few key differences. Their skin is grey, they all have candy-corn-colored horns of varying shapes and sizes, they have different... uh "anatomy", they're physically a bit stronger, and lastly they all have different blood colors, ranging from rust/orange to fuchsia. Age:8 sweeps (17 years, 3-ish months) Sex:Male Appearance:Quasar has the typical grey skin that all trolls sport. His horns are bit more wild in shape than most, resembling deer antlers almost(they are of course, still candy-corn-colored.) His hair is black and neatly cut, swayed towards the left and not covering much of his forehead. His face has somewhat soft features of youth and a certain attractiveness to it. His eyes are rust-colored orange as he is near maturation and his eyes color matches his blood color. He's about 5"11' in height, is toned, but doesn't have BULGING muscles. Though he does have a variety of outfits, his primary one is a sort of black button up, long sleeve with white/silver trim. Over his left breast/heart is his zodiac symbol/family crest. He wears black pants that aren't TOO stiff for combat and white/silver shoes. Weapon Preference: Upon setting out, he was bestowed with three "magical" items. Though magic isn't really believed in by most of his kind. His primary weapon is Regiisterrem or, the royal slayer, a black rapier that is light, yet resilient. The second is a gold laurel crown that is said to protect its wearer in times of utmost danger(works like Daruk's Protection, but more limited). The last is a musical instrument, though its purpose is unkwon. Spaceship Design: The spaceship has a natural design, with grass and trees a big theme. Of course, it does have futuristic steering and such, but the interior feels bright and comforting, with small animals brought along for the ride.

Trying to decide between 3 characters...
-A Kenku (D&D, wingless ravenfolk who can perfectly mimic anything but lack the ability to speak on their own or come up with creative ideas) bard seeking to learn new things. Has a longsword and a Hurdy-Gurdy (medieval instrument), but might not play exactly like a bard what with the lack of a Player's Handbook to take spells from. Instead he'd probably have some bard spells, but also act like a Blue Mage that specifically copies spells and sound-based abilities while also downplaying the lack of creativity so that he can still come up with ideas, just not particularly complicated ones. A fun idea and one that allows a lot of options in storywriting, but also the strangest of the three.
-Sigrid from the character creator contest with her story being some sort of mission to prove herself as a Valkyrie. Benefits from having the most already explained about her, but also probably the blandest of the three in terms of abilities and personality.
-A modified version of Lily from the Etrian Odyssey RP used (or will be if we ever get to the point I can introduce her...) on an offsite RP. Still has her pet tiger Mister Fluffykins and is plant themed, but she's an adult human and instead of just being a Botanist she's now a Floromancer. Can speak with plants, make them grow, manipulate them, and channel magic within them to either make them cast spells related to the Plant in question or use them herself (drawing from cacti to shoot needles from her hands, creating debilitating clouds of spores from flowers, and beams of light shot from bioluminescent moss). A good balance of unique but not too much so, but hard to write a story for or make a ship different from Digi's.

It is entirely up tp you fuzz. and if you are struggling with a ship. dont worry. ship design It doesn't really matter in the long run. it will be however play a role with how NPCs react to seeing your ship. for example if your ship looks threatening NPCs may mistake you for a Space Pirate at first glance.

Screw it, gonna go with the Kenku since they seem the most fun and with the college closed for the week I haven't been able to talk to the DM of the group I want to join to see if he would be a good fit.
Name: Whistle. More accurately the sound of his former mentor whistling, but generally people just call him Whistle. Race: Kenku, a race of wingless crow humanoids. Kenku are unable to speak freely, but can perfectly mimic any words or sounds they've heard before as well as physical actions and even behaviors. Kenku also lack imagination or creativity (simple in the moment ideas are fine, but long term plans are difficult and things like writing new songs rather than mimicking ones he's learned are out of the question). Age: 10 (Kenkus reach maturity at 12, so he's almost an adult) Sex: Male Appearance: Whistle looks fairly normal (if a bit on the small side at around 4' 10" and 85 pounds) for his race. His feathers are a glossy black, his hands and feet consist of talons yet still are dexterous enough to hold things, and his face looks pretty much exactly like a crow. He typically wears a beret, shirt and pants (with an opening for his tail feathers) that are all navy blue in color and are made of some kind of fabric but no shoes, and he's almost never seen without the Hurdy-Gurdy his mentor gave him. Weapon Preference: Whistle initially favors a longsword and knives, but could potentially gain proficiency in other weapon types if around someone using them for long enough. He's also capable of using some magic which he's far better at learning if there's a vocal component to, and can use music (either played on an instrument or sung) to strengthen most of his spells. Backstory: Unlike most Kenku which live in a flock and rely on stealing and killing to survive, Whistle was separated from his flock at a young age and taken in by a human Bard as an apprentice. He's spent much of his life satisfying his sense of curiosity by learning from his mentor about not just music but countless other things (magic, literature, math, etc) and now his mentor is sending him out with some weapons, food and a Hurdy-Gurdy into the world for some proper life experience, the greatest teacher of all. Of course, space travel was the last thing he or his mentor expected would be in store for him... Spaceship Design: On the surface it's fairly normal (you could even have him find it with a dead pilot or something and it's on autopilot until he figures out how it works towards the end of his story as the setting Whistle would be from likely hasn't invented space travel yet), but over the course of his journey Whistle plans to fill it with whatever interesting things he finds.

And to answer the question I'm sure is on your mind of "what's a Hurdy-Gurdy and what does it sound like" I've provided a video. Basically it's like a cross between a piano and a violin with a hand crank.

Accepted. from the looks of it I may only get 2 PCs. And this is exactly why it feels like Vitcon is dying a slow death: nobody ever signs up for things anymore. @everyone here's a game that lets you sign up basically any character concept you want and is offering a story tailor-made to your character, there's very little reason not to join this unless you don't want to join any new games.

Name: Toviatii. His name literally means "A totem of sins" in his native language. After failing to evolve, Toviatii sealed himself into a Cyclic chronos storage, hoping to be reawakened when his people returned to their world, what he didn't know is that they never would... During the many thousands of years he has been asleep he has been discovered amongst the ancient ruins and sands of Vikarus II and passed among many hands as a prized artifact in the black market, the people who owned his storage believed that if he ever awakened he would bring them impossible power and a new world, just as the legends had foretold. His body untouchable, he was abandoned in the cold sweep of time as his last owner dumped him and his current ship in deep space. At long last his pod begins to crack and he reawakens to a barely functioned space ship and a strange new world... Unable to remember his own name or even what he is after years in cyclic Chrono storage, his only purpose to find others like him. Using his innate ability to understand machines he learns how to operate the ship and begins his journey, this is his story...
Race: Vikarusi: The Vikarusi are a long lived and nearly extinct race of semi-mechanids that come from an ancient paradise world called Vikarus III. Their world had little strife and next to no suffering. They where free to do as they pleased. Through spiritual experimentation and Cybernetic mutation, many of the viakrusi open pathways within their resceptors and neurons that gave them access to their higher brain functions. One by one, the Vikarusi transcended reality, never to be seen again. Some are rumoured to have become terrifying and supernatural beings who devour the suffering and pain of others and grow stronger from it. Tales are told about some that even became giant structures that where meant to one day bring the universe into a strange and horrific convergence. However, a few never left our realm, either failing to evolve as their brethren did, or simply choosing to remain behind. These strange and powerful beings have become nothing but legends, and have seemingly disappeared from our reality. Until now...
Age: Is Genetically 90 (An adult in Vikarusi terms). Is chronologically around 40000 years old if you count his time in the Cyclic Chrono storage unit.
Sex: Male?? (Appears masculine but technically has no known gender)
Appearance: His extremely pale skin almost has the appearance of some sort of unnatural materials, and has the slightest of gleams to it. If you don't notice this, you'll certainly notice the wires, tranducers and other electronics breaking running amok underneath his skin and the uncanny green of his phosphor eyes. He is nearly 5'8" in height, and average height for a humanoid. He has no hair, but instead has many cables connecting to various places on his skull that run down to his limbs and other places on his body. he does not have lips and His mouth is nearly non-existant until he decides to open it. He does not have a tong, and instead has dozens of vocal cords that run inside of his mouth and throat. They can produce many noises. He has very little need to breath and as of such has no nose, most air is absorbed through pores on his body. His teeth appear to be a darkish color and are meant to consume some metal as well as flesh and any sort of plant. his legs and arms are uncannily long when compared to a human. his legs take up 65% of his length, while his finger tips reach his noise. He has six fingers and a single opposable thumb on each hand, He fingernails appear to be a very thin greyish metal or plastic, he also has receptive and extremely sensitive sensors on the tips of his finger, they allow him to sense other functioning machines and communicate with them.
Weapon Preference: For close range, Toviatii prefers a long, metallic whip that he calls his "Seer". The whip contains a cell that can generate voltages of 100 times greater than most over head wires, allowing him to turn the cable into a literal blade that shocks and burns through skin and many materials. For long range he uses a "Semi-Pulsating" Caesium-244 beam rifle. Rather than use conventional rounds or energy, it uses the Polarized oscillation of the decaying caesium atoms to generate a beam of deadly energy.
Spaceship Design: Toviatii's ships is of a unique design. It only has one wing, and the central compartments are all attached to it. The blade wing actually allows for better steering and faster movement with the thrusters on it, which help the ship gain additional momentum. Other than that, the ship is fairly small and was obviously only meant for combat, as it can only support 3-4 people for long periods of time. It has one plasma engine to help it take down shields and a pair of high caliber gatling guns for destroying the hull of other ships.

I'll have two characters, but I think you'll understand why... Name: (Project) Kevlar Race: Xenomorph Age: 1 month (Xenomorphs reach maturity in one or two days) Sex: Female (Just in case something makes Kevlar evolving into a Queen possible) Appearance: Weapon Preference: Kevlar doesn't use any weapons. Her piercing tail and mouth is enough. Spaceship Design: Kevlar herself has no ship. Abilities: Tail and Mouth: Xenomorphs can pierce any material with either their tail or their second jaw. Acid Blood: When wounded, the Xenomorphs' acid blood is propelled towards the attacker. Grip: Xenomorphs can move on any solid surface. Movement: Xenomorphs move silently, capable of approaching an enemy which detects them on a radar. Xenomorphs are also good swimmers. Resilience: Xenomorphs are bulletproof, unless attacked at Point Blank range Immunities: I don't know if this is actually a thing, but I feel like Xenomorphs would be immune to poisons, illnesses, bioweapons, etc. Name:Aya Race: AI Age:[REDACTED] Sex:Female Appearance: No Smash logo, obviously. Green instead of pink/purple Weapon Preference: Aya has no fighting capabilities. She's only Kevlar's way of communication and moving the ship. Aya's physical form can never leave the ship. Spaceship Design: A research ship with currently no crew. It's constituated of a Med Bay, Quarantine Zone, Specimen Containment Zone and of course, the Pilot Station. ---Backstory--- Kevlar was a Xenomorph like any other, which was eventually found by a crew of scientist which foolishly tried to use the Xenomorphs' resilience to create a new generation of armored-skin humans. These scientists gave her her name as Project Kevlar. Unfortunately for the humans, they were hit by a Space Storm which deactivated Kevlar's containment module which resulted in all the humans being massacred. One of them had a mechanical module which let him generate an hologram known as "Aya". Aya was created to control the ship on her own, while the humans did other things. By inadvertance, Kevlar consumed the mechanical module, which led the Xenomorph to be somewhat fused with the AI. Kevlar cannot talk, but Aya can through the mechanical module. The relationship is symbiotic, which let Aya communicate what Kevlar is thinking and lets Kevlar acquire some basic sentience, to the point of understand the concept of Foes and Allies. With the help of Aya, Kevlar explores the galaxy to save her brethrens from any research facilities holding them. Meanwhile, words of a Xenomorph more intelligent than normal has spread to the race known as "Predators"...

So basically its two characters acting as one.
one being a xenomorph and the other literally is a ship AI implanted into said xenomorph.
Its accepted.
Im not sure how im going to do ship AI for you. maybe I can go the route of not giving you one but....

Wanted to play as a Xenomorph, but also wanted to have a reason to why it could communicate unlike other Xenomorphs, so I got the AI idea.
And with the whole ship thing, I gave the AI a physical form, which cannot leave the ship, cause even with knowledge, I don't think a Xenomorph could pilot a ship.
