There are four different paths you can follow as a shapeless. Each path has unique abilities. Keep in mind that choosing a certain path will not lock you out of all the abilities and skills from other three path, but will instead limit how many abilities you can use from a path that is not the one you follow.
Path of the Sheltered
We all have a destiny and a purpose, no matter how mundane it is, we are all here for a reason. You believe this down to your core, no matter how naïve it might be. When you survive all of this, you WILL find your answer and your place in the universe.
Many often follow this path unwittingly, it is a path only for those of pure will, even if that will is born of naivety. Following this path will give you abilities that will strengthen your defenses and grant you additional core integrity.
Starting active: Core Harden (Grants additional defense for a time by hardening your core existence.)
Starting Passive: Unwavering Stature (Those who believe in the strength of existence and give their very being to it find that they are stronger. You gain 2 Additional Core Integrity at all times)
Path of the Sycophant
Of course, none of this really matters. You've been forgotten by the world. None of what happens here matters as long as you survive. The dead have no use for honor, will, or even hope. Your silver tongue and skills will help you survive, and that is all that matters.
Shapeless who follow this path seek to avoid damage entirely and survive. They can often influence certain types of enemies and characters, and can even disappear from the field of battle for a time.
Starting active: Shadow of the Soul (You disappear for a few turns and can sneak behind enemies to attack, where you will avoid damage for a time.)
Starting passive: Blind Spot (Enemies not directly facing you will take slightly more damage.)
Path of the Lost Traveler
Like the sycophant, you believe that none of this matters, but does it really matter if you survive? You've been forgotten after all. The universe won't remember you when you are gone. How can you, a mere shapeless, hope to fight against a being who controls the very power of existence?
Shapeless who follow this path will deal extra damage to enemies, but have no way to avoid the damage they will take in return. Lost Travelers are reckless, and must be protected.
Starting active: Self Immolation (You burn with immense pain, it feels as if you are on fire. Maybe you always were? For a time, you do extra damage to others)
Starting passive: No Fate (Enemies who attack you take some of their own damage as well.)
Path of the Ancient Shapeless
You alone have a duty to uphold. Long ago, the shapeless fought against monsters that sought the power of The Strings. For you, no matter what the future holds, this is a sacred duty that you are honored to uphold.
Those who follow this path believe their fate is to uphold honor and duty. They do not care about survival or what the future holds, for they believe they already have the answers to their fate and purpose.
Starting Active: Ancient Duty (It is your duty, and your alone to defeat the Hjuuntus Yppx. But you cannot fight the power of this being alone. Using this ability will allow you to heal allies that have been wounded badly.)
Starting passive: Smite (Your attacks gain additional range, allowing you to attack from a distance and avoid the attacks of many enemies)
