And that’s the catch... Not sure how it’s even possible for him to move that fast considering he handed his own Chaos Emerald over, but for now the matter of how is less important than the where.
Raku will take a moment to carefully study all of the spots he appears to be. She’s looking for any sort of tell or pattern no matter how faint that might let her predict where the real Sonic will be next so she can tag him there as he appears.

Raku
Raku takes a moment to try and study Sonic's movements or pattern. Unfortunately, its really hard for Raku or her partners to really tell anything. It seems like unless your use to Sonic's speed it's really difficult to tell where the real one is. Sonic is moving to fast and too rapidly for Raku or her partners eyes to keep up. All the Sonics appear to be the same and as far as you can tell there's no real difference.
The part that's scary is Sonic isn't even going full speed. Sonic's speed is not being hampered because he doesn't have his Chaos Emerald. Sonic is actually, restraining himself and trying not to go to fast.
"Your too slow," Raku and his partner hears Sonic taunt but it sounds like it's coming from everywhere at once.

(As far as I can tell this is basically the only valid move I have short of continuing to fish for items in the Vending Machine hoping to get something that might help.)
Without moving, Dawn subtly creates a Psyshock low to the ground on one of the places Sonic looks like he is near them so that the next time he goes there (and in order to look like he’s in multiple places at once without disappearing from any of those places logically he’d have to keep returning to them) he’ll trip over it and fall over giving the team an opportunity to tag him.

Raku
Dawn uses a Phsyhock next to one of the Sonic images hoping to cause him to trip up. Upon first striking the ground you really don't see any slowing down of Sonic it seems like he is able to easily go over a smaller hole.
Yet the move seemed to have an unintended side effect. The strike seemed to kick up some dirt in which Sonic ran right through it. Raku concentrates on the dirt cloud and you can see it moving in a certain direction but it's still too small to make any sort of trail. Yet a small trail does form whenever the Sonic Image is close to it. Maybe if the dirt cloud was bigger it could give you a more definitive trail. Maybe if the hole was bigger mayne Sonic would actually have to slow down a bit.
Maybe if Sonic had multiple holes to deal with it would make a difference. You do notice that he hasn't seemed to slow down even after running at this speed.

At this, Dawn does the same thing in another one of the spots, then another, and continues doing so until there’s a hole in each spot.

(I’m aware, but for the time being I’m letting Dawn take care of kicking up a bit of dust in each spot. Doing so with psychic powers is a bit les likely to hurt Sonic than risking shooting him in the foot, at which point I doubt he’d be in a helpful mood.)

(Pretty much the only way you can get Sonic to turn on you is if you attack Tails and try to take the Emerald from him. Him getting shot in the foot could just be chalked to him not really paying attention to Raku's ability.)

Dawn takes the opportunity to shot multiple holes where the Sonic images appear. The Sonic images don't appear to moving any differently. Yet you were able to kick up a lot more dirt and you can now see a definite trail of dirt and you can now see where Sonic is going and in which way he is traveling.
You can even see where and when Sonic stops because the dirt cloud stops a little. Who knows maybe this is the opening you needed?

Wait for him to move somewhere close to me and stop, then close in on him from multiple sides trying to tag him with as many people as possible.

(Hope your ready for the final round Fuzz ball)
Dawn, Raku, and Rahii all close in on one of the Sonic images. When they see, the dirt push up against one of the images they take their chance.
Sonic stops far enough away from Raku, Dawn, and Rahii and looks towards them. "Well now you managed to tag me twice,". "Looks like there is no reason to hold back now,". "Hope your ready guys,". "We are about to kick this party up Super Sonic style," Sonic tells you and gives you guys a thumbs up.
Huh what does he mean super sonic style?
"Hope you guys can keep up,". "Wouldn't want to leave you slowpokes in the dirt,". "Think on the bright side you managed to get this far so no shame in quitting now," Sonic says very confidently.
The one thing you notice is despite running at such a speed. Sonic doesn't even seem slightly out of breath at all. In fact he seems like he was just warming up before.
"Okay here I come," Sonic says as he takes off.
At first Raku and her Friends don't see anything. Did Sonic just vanish into thin air?
Actually you notice a blur running in between Raku, Dawn, and Rahii. The blur seems to get faster and faster until the blur looks like a whirlwind. By the time Raku can blink she seems to be alone in the center of a whirlwind. She can't see her teammates but she can hear them. Rahii and Dawn are also trapped in their own individual whirlwinds. All you can see is what looks like a wall of clouds separating you from your teammates.
Sonic has finally acknowledged Raku and her friends. Now he has shown you his true speed and he's this fast without a Chaos Emerald. You have to find a way to contain him somehow if you want any chance of tagging him one last time.

Raku struggles to even remain standing in the tornado, the winds threatening to sweep her up and carry her around with them. As she grits her teeth and hunkers down, she looks into her orb and noticed that there’s something new in it. Holding it out, a trio of metal orbs with magnets appears in front of her, the single eye on each of them staring back.
“You’re a weird looking one... alright, if you’ve got a way to slow him down now would be the time.”
At this, the magnets separate and surround her looking outwards. Electricity crackles about them, then pulses out in all directions as a wave of paralyzing electricity.

Raku
(Nah ah ah ah....things aren't that simple. You know your free to use everything at your disposal right. You do have up to four actions with your partner Rahii, Dawn, Magneton, and Raku. Just want to make sure your using everything at your disposal. Don't worry about striking Sonic. The only way to turn Sonic against you is too purposely attack Tails and try to steal the Chaos Emerald.)
Magneton uses Thunder Wave into the whirlwind. As the electricity hits the whirlwind it sorta of looks like it might have done something. Yet the Whirlwind might have slowed down a bit but it's really hard to tell.
"Really is that the best you got,". "If you can't think of something better, you'll never tag me,". "Or are you holding back on purpose,". "Come on show me what your truly capable of?". "Or is all that space mumbo jumbo just for show?" Sonic's voice rings out.
"If you don't give it your all you will never get all of the Chaos Emeralds,". "Now then stop holding back and come at me like you want to tag me,". "Or are you just all talk after all?" Sonic asks Raku.
Maybe you can use the whirlwind to your advantage. Dawn was a big help the first couple of times maybe she can help.
One thing is clear Sonic is letting up and it seems like he is determined to test your abilities.

The Avali captain grits her teeth in frustration at the native lifeform’s taunting. Still, a plan begins to form and she quickly shares it with both her crewmate and Dawn over Neurolink and telepathy respectively.
You’re going to do what now, Captain? That really doesn’t sound like a good idea...
Yeah, it’s completely insane. To be honest I don’t even know if this is going to work, but unless you’ve got any better ideas it’s all we’ve got. Just keep an ear out and keep the channel open, I’m probably not going to be able to hear anything on my own in there. Dawn, you’ve told the metal things what their role is?
At Dawn’s confirmation, Raku sighs and glances at the tornado around her.
“Well, this is going to suck. Alright, now!”
On command Dawn forms multiple walls of Light Screen throughout the tornado. The walls contain openings, but with their positions changing every few seconds their unpredictability would make things difficult to navigate at the speeds Sonic is going. For Raku however such a task is far easier thanks to the same psychic feline directly planting the positions of the openings, where they’ll be next, and the exact route to travel into the alien’s mind. Added to this info is a direct audio feed from Khaii, and as Magneton enacts the final part of the plan by beginning to barrage Sonic with homing Magnet Bombs from inside the eye of the storm in an attempt to trip him up Raku hops into the tornado and extends her arms, riding the wind as she attempts to line herself up for a clear shot at tagging Sonic.
