Man... The wait is long, it's the opposite of what you thought a speedster race would be. They even said one of the contestants was a monster! But they still haven't showed up. All 5 of them, whoever or whatever they are. It's been an hour since the announcer said the racers were coming. You're pretty tired of eating hot-dogs in the stands to pass the time. Everyone seems to become impatient when the giant TV screen goes black. The voice seems more agressive than before.
Announcer: "WELCOME EVERYONE, THE RACE OF THE SPEEDSTERS WILL BEGIN SOON! WITH A FEW CHANGES! THE WINNER IS NOT WHOEVER PASSES THE FINISHING LINE FIRST.
THE WINNER WILL BE...
WHOEVER...
KILLS...
THE MOST OF YOU PUNY IDIOTS!"
You're unsure what is going on, as 2 red eyes appear in the blackness of the screen, but the rest of the audience starts panicking and screaming something about "Virus". In the panick, you are pushed off the stands and end up falling on where the speedsters would have been racing... You notice the 5 entrances, completely black, except for some red eyes in each of them, looking intently at you...

Question about the audience help, is it more to the effect of “the entire group might do something minor to help” or are there some proper fighters in the crowd that could be convinced to join in the battle? I’ve got a DnD character idea I want to test (more so the personality and general feel than a one-to-one mechanical translation), but as a College of Glamour Bard who’s been performing for the audience as the preshow entertainment and by the time things start would have mildly charmed the entire crowd into being her fans I’d like to know what kind of help I should be trying to convince them to provide.

Think of TTYD's audience mechanics

Alright, definitely going with this character since Punk’s confirmed he’s in since having someone else there means the more supportive abilities like Mantle of Inspiration (temp HP to the party + one turn of double movement for all allies) can properly shine. Name: Melody Appearance: A slender woman with wings for arms, feathers in place of hair, and legs resembling those of a hawk ending in sharp talons. Wears a sleeveless vest and shorts with a strap to hold her tambourine when not in use. Abilities: In addition to the usual abilities and magic a Bard would have along with her racial abilities (she’s a siren, although mechanically speaking she’s an Aaracockra reflavored as one so her racial skills are flight and making attacks with her talons), Melody also has the more charm-centric abilities that come with the College of Glamour. She’s also taken the Mage Initiate (Warlock) feat which gives her access to two Cantrips and a spell she can cast once per long rest (basically once the entire set of bosses). The cantrips are Eldritch Blast (performed as a sudden burst of wind from her wings) and Sword Burst, while the spell is Cause Fear. Lastly, her natural Charisma (and the fact that she may or may not have charmed basically the entire audience prior to this) makes it easier for her to convince them to help.
