Mist... In normal times, it is just a normal meteorological phenomenon. Simply water, suspended in the air, unable to ge away like it's supposed to.
And of course, this phenomenon exists on any inhabitable planet and any period of time in history. No matter your origin, mist has always been considered as eery, scary and weird. Yet, why would this be, if it was just a natural phenomenon. Something that just occurs through the normal course of nature.
The reason for this is the fear of the unknown. Mist would blind anyone's perception. We fear what we can't see, because our imagination makes us see or hear things that doesn't exist.
Once you understand this, you also understand how the Snatchers operate... They understood the potential of the mist... Who's gonna know what happened to a person who was alone in the mist? No one.
These mysterious creatures, known only by name, are blamed for many and many lifeform disappearances accross space and time. From wildlife, to pets, to civlized humanoids. But are they even real? Or are they just a concept we created to explain the unknown?
Maybe you'll get your answers as you have made a mistake. You walked alone in the mist, on a random day and blacked out. You woke up in a room with nothing but a bed. Did the Snatchers take you? Are they real? Or did you simply come upon an abstract cosmic force?
No matter where or when you're from, surely there is somewhere you want to go back to... But first, you must get out of this room...
