I might not have played SOTN or any game before that, but I'm a huge fan of Order of Ecclesia, Aria of Sorrow and Harmony of Dissonance. Enjoyed Lords of Shadow 1 and Mirror of fate too. Shouldn't count, but I'm truly loving the anime series too. My vote goes to Castlevania.

Also, I never played a Ghost and goblins game... Unless we count Demon Crest, which I replay from time to time.
