The Kingdom of Lanilla

One of the oldest and most powerful kingdoms in the world.  Well-known as a beacon of enlightenment, egalitarianism, art, and advancement of the sciences - including tetrachromancy, the study of magic.  Ruled by The Council of Kings, 5 descendants of the original founders of the kingdom.  The kingdom dominates most of the continent of Revala, with no other country even half its size.  Lanilla is unassailable from outside forces.

However, 100 years ago, a coup was attempted by the alchemist's guild.  Since then, the guild was disbanded and mages have faced stricter scrutiny and government oversight.


The Mage Colleges

Magic is a tightly regulated resource.  Due to the dangerous nature of magic and its complicated history, one must come of legal age and apply to one of the twelve mage colleges to even begin to study magic.  On top of the strict regulations, using magic is damaging to one's health, but there's still no shortage of applicants.  Any mage that does not go through the mage college is considered a rogue mage and arrested.

Some of the colleges are specialized for one type of magic or one type of mage.  The largest school, set in the capital, oversees all others.  The school you are applying to is the smallest, near the border of Lanilla and Ervue.


The Four Schools of Magic

Red magic focuses on offense and power.  Examples: Spark, Arrow, Burst

Blue magic focuses on defense, protection, and summoning.  Examples: Shield, Windwall, Summon Pixie

Gold magic focuses on weakening enemies and altering the world.  Examples: Oil Slick, Push, Gravity Flip

White magic focuses on healing and support.  Examples: Blessing, Levitation, Mend


The Types of Mage

Wizards are the stereotypical mage, what most people think of when you mention mages.  They 'specialize' in their lack of specialization, prioritizing adaptability and flexibility above all else.

Witches prefer more subtle forms of magic.  Even among mages they tend to be distrusted.  They specialize in support, healing, and debilitation with weaker ability to strike directly.

Magical Girls are flashy, bright, and always over the top.  They prefer big, explosive spells and summoning magic but have a tendency for quickly exhausting themselves.

Mage Knights prefer to get up close and personal with their magic, often using a blade as a magical focus and some even training to wear armor in combat.  They specialize in self-enhancement spells.


Gameplay

Players will budget their time for the week among whichever classes are being offered.

Name: Kyle Fog (Cancelled character)

Physical Appearance: A young man with short brown hair, but a bang of longer hair covering his left eye. He has many custom made classic mage robes, in different colors for different environments, but they are not fully covering the legs, therefore not affecting his mobility. Of course, he wear shorts underneath. He has brown eyes, is a bit shorter than of average height and has naturally lightly tanned skin.

Reason for application: Kyle's magic allows him to be stealthy in many different ways, which led to people calling his magic Rogue Magic, which eventually led to him being in trouble. He managed to make authorities understand that this is a misunderstanding, but they are forcing him to prove that his magic is legal by going to one of the mage colleges.

Name: Misha Law

Physical Appearance: Female, 5'7, athletic build. Short, black hair with red streaks that were clearly self dyed and reddish amber eyes that can seem to be either gold or pure red depending on the light. Fairly pale skin. Typically wears a red or white skirt and and dark red tank top, along with tall black laced boots, and a hand-me-down military style black coat that looks like it might once have belonged to an important family a long time ago. Very pretty but tomboyish. She hates makeup and doesn't hesitate to get her hands dirty. 18 years old.

Reason for application: To clear my ancestor's name, and to learn proper magic. To be recognized as the strongest mage, and to show the world that not all power has to be feared.

Name: Racheal Dreamer

Appearance:

Slightly above average height. She has a somewhat athletic build but she does have slightly big "ears". She wears a plain blue t shirt. Her brown hair goes down to her back when she wears her hair down. Racheal usually chooses to wear her hair in a pony tail or up in pig tail.

She wears a pair of sneakers and she wears a knee length white skirt and knee high black socks.

Reason for Magic:

Racheal comes from a long line of knights who's job it is to hunt rouge mages. Her fathers father fathers well you get the idea. What better way to catch rouge mages then with knights trained in magic.

Racheal always wanted to follow in the family business and become a magical knight. Her determination to become one increased even more when her father was left permanently paralysed by a Rouge mage.

Now she's hoping to become a magical knight of her own.
