---The Mechanics---
This game is inspired by Hunters' multiplayer mode, but very modified.
It is by default third person since some characters are more melee-based, but you can turn to first person with every character with a button press.
Instead of every characters having access to all weapons and having affinity with one, everyone has a basic attack and an ammo attack which are unique to them, altough some characters might have the same attack as others.
Every character also has an energy bar which also allows them to make a special action unique to them, altough some might be recurring.
Lastly, every character has a gimmick , which is just a mechanic unique to them, altough, again some might be recurring.
Some larger characters might have more health to compensate being easier targets.
The game modes would be along the side of classic modes like Deathmatch, Survival, Capture The Flag, King of the Hill, etc.
To add variety on the tools characters could use, there would be bonuses on the maps much like in Echoes' multiplayer.
Ammo and health can be found on maps much like in Hunters' multiplayer.
Each maps would also have tools the players can use like levers to control retractable bridges for example. There could also have some events happening on certain maps like an acid rain forcing players to fight in the roofed areas.

---Samus (Power Suit)---
Description: Samus' default suit, designed after the original Metroid. It uses elements introduced in that game.
Basic Attack: Power Beam: A neutral energy bullet which can shoot relatively fast.
Ammo attack: Missile: An explosive projectile which causes knock back on the enemy. Samus can carry up to 50 missiles at once and every ammo back gives her 5 missiles.
Energy Bar Mechanic: Morph Ball (Bombs): Samus can activate Morph Ball, making her a harder target. As long as she is in this form, she can drop bombs which detonates after 3 seconds. There can be 3 bombs at once on the screen from one single Samus. If the energy bar is emptied, Samus is forced out of Morph Ball. Samus' energy bar fills itself up relatively quickly as long as she's not in Morph Ball.
Gimmick: Screw Attack: While running, if Samus jumps, Screw Attack will activate, which will cause damage to anything she comes in contact with. It also destroys physical projectiles like missiles, but not energy projectiles.

---Samus (Justin Bailey)---
Description: Samus' Justin Bailey suit from the original game, but with Samus' modern blonde hair for design consistency. Alternate colors offers the classic green hair however. It also uses elements from the original game.
Basic Attack: Long Beam: A neutral energy bullet which can be shot at a longer range than most weapons. A bit slower than the Power Beam however,
Ammo attack: Missile: An explosive projectile which causes knock back on the enemy. Samus can carry up to 50 missiles at once and every ammo back gives her 5 missiles.
Energy Bar Mechanic: High Jump Boots: As the Morph Ball model for Justin Bailey's Samus might look stupid in 2D, it is not used by it. Instead, Justin Bailey Samus can activate her energy bar to jump higher as long as the bar is active. The bar gradually recovers itself when inactive at a decent speed.
Gimmick: Pseudo Screw: While running, if Samus jumps, she'll do a spin jump. She is invincible in that state.

---Kraid---
Description: A 3D redesign of Kraid based on his Super Metroid design. Kraid is also resized to be of this game's playable characters largest possible size.
Basic Attack: Kraid's Claws: A powerful melee attack using Kraid's arms. Powerful, but doesn't offer much combo.
Ammo attack: Rock hurl: Kraid spits 4 rocks at once or less depending on ammo in a downwards arc. Each ammo gives him one rock, with a maximum capacity of 10.
Energy Bar Mechanic: Spinning fingernails: Kraid's energy bar starts full everytime he respawns. It is used to detach his fingernails from his body, turning them into spinning projectiles which moves in random directions. This can be useful for crowd control and does damage on impact. Once the energy bar is empty, the fingernails disappear. The energy bar fills up slowly everytime this ability is not active.
Gimmick: Spike Immunity: Kraid can walk on any kind of spikes without taking damage.
Health: 200
---Ridley---

Basic Attack: Tail Pierce: A melee attack using Ridley's tail which can hit multiple enemies at once.
Ammo attack: Fireball Salvo: Ridley spits fireball in front of himself or downwards if he is flying. Ridley can carry 6 ammo at once, with every collected ammo giving 1 fireball. Ridley always uses all his ammo when using this move.
Energy Bar Mechanic: Chameleon: Ridley can use his energy bar to become invisible, but he has to be immobile. Incidentally, his energy bar starts empty and fills up at a decent speed whenever Ridley is not moving.
Gimmick: Ridley's Wings: Ridley can fly at moderate speed.

---Samus (Zero Suit)---
Description: Samus in her Zero Suit, based on the Zero Mission design. There are alternate colors to reference Zero Mission and Fusion ending screens.
Basic Attack: Emergency Pistol: A pistol which shoots single projectiles. There is a small delay between each shot. It has short range for a ranged attack.
Ammo attack: Emergency Grapple: Inspired by her Smash moveset, this shoots a mid range laser which cause electric impact damage, knocking back the enemy. Each shot costs 1 ammo and up to 5 ammos can be conserved at a time. Ammo pickups gives 1 ammo.
Energy Bar Mechanic: Paralysis: Samus' energy bar fill up extremely quickly after each shot of emergence pistol. Each time it's full, the shot from Emergency Pistol stuns the enemies for a few seconds.
Gimmick: Crawling: Samus has the fastest crouched speed in the game. When crawling, she is not appearing on radars.
Health: 80
---Robo Ridley---
Description: a 3D redesign of Robo Ridley from Zero Mission. It is considered Large. It is also slow as it's movement animation involves it scrapping his arms on the floor to move forward.
Basic Attack: Robo Claws: A powerful melee attack using Robo Ridley's right arm, as the left one is used to move forward when walking. Powerful, but doesn't offer any combo option as only one arm is used at a time. Causes knockback on the target however.
Ammo attack: Fireball Salvo: Robo Ridley spits fireball in front of itself. Robo Ridley can carry 6 ammo at once, with every collected ammo giving 1 fireball. Robo Ridley always uses all it's ammo when using this move.
Energy Bar Mechanic: Robo Missiles: Robo Ridley's energy bar always starts empty, but fills up when ammo is picked up. 5 ammo will fill the energy bar, at which point Robo Ridley can use it (it can only be used when full). By using the energy bar, Robo Ridley lock on five missiles to the on-screen targets, priorizing the closest ones to itself. If there are less than 5 targets, the remaining missiles will target the closest enemy.
Gimmick: Knockback Immunity: Robo Ridley is immune to knockback effects.

---Samus (Varia Suit)---
Description: Samus in her Varia Suit, designed after Metroid 2. It uses elements introduced in that game.
Basic Attack: Spazer Beam: Samus shoots 3 beams in vertical fashion, which means hitting an enemy perfectly will cause more damage. It has a slower rate of fire than the power beam.
Ammo attack: Missile: An explosive projectile which causes knock back on the enemy. Samus can carry up to 50 missiles at once and every ammo back gives her 5 missiles.
Energy Bar Mechanic: Spider Ball: Samus can activate Morph Ball, which makes her a harder target. In this form, she has no attack options, but she can move on walls and ceilings, perfect for an impromptu getaway. The energy bar starts full on every life and fills up fast while the ability is not in use.
Gimmick: Heat Resistance: Samus takes less damage from fire attacks and can also walk in lava.
Health: 100
---Queen Metroid---
Description: The Queen Metroid as she appears in Samus Returns. She is a large sized character and is slow.
Basic Attack: Head Lunge: Queen Metroid lunges her head with quite some range thanks to her neck, following the direction of the joystick. The angle of attack can be anything in 180 degree in front of her.
Ammo attack: Acid Breath: Queen Metroid unleashes an acid breath in front of her. She can have up to 300 ammo, but this attack works like a flamethrower in that it spends 1 ammo per seconds. Each ammo pickup offer 25 ammo.
Energy Bar Mechanic: Green Orbs: Queen Metroid unleashes some green orbs around herself which then moves in erratic fashion around her location, moving away from her. As she has many blindspots in terms of atatck options, this is both a defensive and offensive maneuver. However, while it starts full every life, it fills up slowly when not in use.
Gimmick: Spiked Armor: Queen Metroid starts every life with armor on every parts of her body, which means she takes half damage when an armored part is hit. These armored spikes are destroyed by explosive damage however.
Health: 200
---The Baby---
Description: The Baby Metroid as seen in Samus Returns. It's abilities however are based on abilities Metroids use in the Prime series.
Basic Attack: Lunge: The Baby Metroid lunges forward, causing damage on contact.
Ammo attack: Hunter Metroid Grapple: The Baby Metroid shoots a trait of energy which connects to the enemy, dragging them towards the user. As long as the connection is active, the target takes damage. It can be freed of by moving out of range however. It can have up to 200 ammo, but this attack works like a flamethrower in that it spends 1 ammo per seconds. Each ammo pickup offer 20 ammo.
Energy Bar Mechanic: Energy Armor: This energy bar starts empty, filling up a bit everytime the Baby Metroid causes damage, causing 100 damage maxes up the bar. When filled up, the Baby Metroid can become invincible for a very short time as some kind of electric field appears around it. This also makes it grow in size, giving it 10 additional max health for the rest of the current life. The maximum health that can be reached is 200.
Gimmick: Energy Absorption: Everytime the Baby Metroid causes damage, it heals a quarter of the damage it caused.

Switched Arachnus to Return of Samus, no idea why I had put it in Samus Returns instead.
---Arachnus---
Description: A 3D model of Arachnus based on it's Metroid Fusion design.
Basic Attack: Arachnus Claws: A melee attack which has very short range, but causes knockback to a hit target. Can combo to up to 3 attacks.
Ammo attack: Fire Trait: Arachnus spits a fireball downards in front of itself, which then shoot a line of fire forward on the ground, until it hits something. Each ammo pickup gives 1 ammo, maximum ammo is 3.
Energy Bar Mechanic: Energy Cutters: When Arachnus' energy bar is active, it starts shooting energy cutters when using it's basic attack. The first attack of the 3-hit combo always shoots 2 energy cutters at once. Arachnus' energy bar starts filled up every life, but doesn't fill up naturally. It fills up when Arachnus is in Rolling Form.
Gimmick: Rolling Form: When Arachnus walks enough and gains enough speed, it automatically curls up into a ball, entering Rolling Form. In this form, it can't really attack, but it is faster, takes half damage, bounces when landing on the ground after jumping and causes damage on contact. If hit by knockback damage, Arachnus is forced out of this form.
