After you registered for the mission, you were responded to in a very acceptable delay, informing you that a transport ship would pick you up on your current location. Indeed, not even after a complete day of waiting, a ship had landed, a Galactic Federation Trooper collecting you for the mission.
That trooper is designated at tag M4L and will be your pilot during the mission. At the end of the day, the ship, which had a capacity of 12 people, 13 counting the pilot, eventually was filled with 4 individuals.
Neon the Novakid, Justicia Nova the magical soldier, Raku the avali and Manfred Frizlinger, seemingly a human.
The space travel was relatively quiet and before you knew it, M4L stops the ship. You can feel that it is still hovering a bit. The ramp opens, revealing a space station, which from outside, seems very silent. M4L seems to not have landed, instead hovering next to a platform. He looks at the 4 of you.
M4L: "We're here, mercenaries. Once you walk the ramp and jump unto the platform, I have to contact HQ to report that the mission has officially started.
Unfortunately, there was no accessible landing pad, so I had to make due.
You guys were quiet during transit, so before anything happens, now might be a good time for you to talk it out. We don't know how long the mission will be after all.
Oh. Also. You are considered my superiors during this mission, I am therefore under your orders. I was thinking of staying with the ship, but if you want me to follow you into the space station, I am obligated to comply.
Just know that my main designation is pilot, therefore I will not comply to any order that needlessly endangers the ship. Am I understood on that regard?"

Neon walks a bit while unholstering his Rifle off his back "I think we'll be fine going ourselves part'ner"
Neon then Jumps from the ship to the platform

Justicia☆Nova gives a thumbs-up, taps her helmet, points at M4L, then points up and waves her finger in a circle. She then makes a fist and chops at the ramp.
She does not wait to make sure anyone understood any of that.
She runs down the ramp, jumps, and does a flip for no particular reason, cape billowing despite the lack of wind as she lands on one knee, STARAY raised to one shoulder and ready to fire.

Raku looks unimpressed at Justicia’s acrobatics, donning a helmet that connects to the spacesuit she put on during the ride. Jumping off the ramp she lands somewhat unsteadily, grumbling to herself as she opens a comm link to her packmates back at federation HQ.
“Stupid bulky suit. I always hated having to wear these things for spacewalks… Khaii, Neza, what can you tell me about this station?”

"You are good my friend. Keep guard, we may require your assistance in the future."
Manfred hops to the next platform, barely lands upright on his feet, and looks at his compatriots.
"I hope we find ourselves quite successful in this venture, allies!"

Khaii: "Well... You see, in terms of science, we don't know yet what this station is for or whom owns it. It is definitely the source of the distress signal we need to investigate however."
Neza: "That's not actually right. M4L flew by some transit ports, so this station is definitely used for storage to some extent."

M4L: "Alright, I will stay on the ship. Can you remind everyone I gave them comms so we can all contact each other?"
M4L goes back into the cockpit to sit down.
---Everyone---
As soon as the mercenaries land onto the platform, an energy barrier activates a few meters in front of them, with 4 blinking circle lights on the pillars that seem to create the barrier. An automated voice starts repeating "please calibrate your weapons to continue".
Looking around, the mercenaries can see the space station better, seeing a door behind the barrier.
They are surrounded by what seems to be ramps, which technically means there's not much protection from falling into space, but they can hear some sort of energy coming from the ramps.

Manfred reminds everyone of the coms, then shrinks back while everyone shoots off their guns before he charges up his stick and hits the final point.

Raku pulls the Pulse Spear off her back, shooting at one of the lights.
