The Connection... We are not even sure it exists, but it is told that every world has an entrance to it. They say that entering The Connection is a point of no return... You become something neither alive nor dead. An unkillable ambassador for your world. Because that's why people want to go there. To represent their world, their people.
It is told that the beings inside The Connection are constantly competing against each other in different challenges. Formed of groups of individuals from different worlds, groups called guilds, these beings seek to win every challenges in exchange for having ressources sent to their world. Wether it's food, money, construction material or even people, the legends say that the true denizens of The Connection, the natives per say, will send the needed ressources to every world of a winning guild.
Wether we seek to save our dying world or just prevent that it ever gets close to a point where it needs to be saved, this legend is interesting to anyone... Many adventurers, heroes or villains, seek to find their world's entry to The Connection either for virtuous or selfish reasons.
It is said that if you find it you can never return, but if that's true, where would the rumors be coming from?

---The Format---
Everyday, the characters wake up in their personal room and has to help their guild achieve an objective set by the natives of The Connection. The objective will usually be revealed to anyone, but it's possible that one some days the objective will be kept secret. In this world, time progresses at the same time as guilds progress towards an objective. This means that when Night arrives, one of the guilds has almost completed the objective. If it's not your guild, you better keep up... If your guild wins the daily objective, your world will receive the ressources your character asked for and the guild shouls receive a reward useable in The Connection. Who knows, maybe if you guild wins enough time, someone will be sent back home...
---The crystals---
Each guild has a crystal in their home which can only be interacted with by the member of the guild. The crystals can absorb corpses to gain points every day. After 5 points, the guild can receive various reward from the crystal, at which point 10 additional points will be required, then 15 and so on. The reward goal resets to 5 points everyday. Rewards can go from having someone entering Reversal Mode, gaining information, gaining equipment tokens and more. Objectives might sometimes affect crystals, so be wary of any change...
---Corpses---
There are monsters in the wilderness of The Connection which can range from looking like animals, to humanoids, to being a perfect copy of a guild member. When defeated, these monsters don't disappear. Their corpses will remain.
However, this is also true for guild members. While a guild member will reappear next to their crystal upon death, they will still leave a corpse behind.
A monster's corpse is worth 1 point while absorbed by a crystal. Guild members corpses are 2 points each. Large monsters, called Bosses by certain individuals, are worth 3 points each, but often needs multiple person to transport them.
Unabsorbed corpses disappear at the start of every day.
NOTE: YOUR CHARACTERS STILL FEEL PAIN. EVERY DEATH IS STILL A PHYSICAL SHOCK. EVEN IF YOU DIE 20 TIMES IN ONE DAY, YOUR CHARACTER WILL NEVER GET USED TO IT. THEY STILL HAVE THEIR SURVIVAL INSTINCT. COMMITING SUICIDE JUST TO GENERATE 2 POINTS FOR YOUR TEAM SHOULDN'T EVEN BE AN OPTION FOR YOUR CHARACTER. (Now, if killing your teamates fr points is something your character would do, I can't stop you, but it's on you if nobody trusts you.)
---Reversal Mode---
Reversal Mode is one of the rewards from gaining points for the crystal. When a character enters Reversal Mode, their powers will become slightly off or for some characters, they will become completely silly.
Let's take an ordinary gun user for example. They could say that their Reversal Mode is that their guns have no ammo and are now melee weapons. Or they could go the completely silly way and say that they have bullets that shoot gun. Note that it's not that they can have multiple Reversal Mode, it is 2 different examples. Your Reversal Mode is definite and you only have one. (Unless you are rewarded with a second Reversal Mode at one point *wink* *wink*)
Reversal Mode is reverted at the start of everyday or by collecting enough points to pick reverting to normal as a crystal reward.
---Equipment---
Equipment can be shared between any individual. You can buy new equipment from natives with equipment tokens, which can be found or gained in various ways. Note that when you die, you will leave one piece of equipment behind, decided by the GM depending on the context of your death. You will always lose an equipment you gained before your default equipment. The equipment in question does not disappear however. It'll either be taken by someone/something or be left where it was.
Note that whatever the status of your default equipment is, it will disappear from wherever it is and reappear in your room at the start of each day.
If despite what I said earlier you find suicide for 2 points appropriate, note that you will drop all your equipment. If your teamates are there to grab that equipment in that instance, it will instantly disappear and be scattered around the map.
---Abilities---
Your character's abilities are definite on sign-up, but you might find or gain token which allow natives to give you new ones. Don't forget to think about how Reversal Mode will affect these new abilities!
---Wanderer---
Wanderers are beings that are part of no guild, having accessed The Connection purely by accident. There's always one per day and are recruitable by any guild.
---Natives---
Natives have their own town, where they sell many things, from consumables, to equipment, to abilities and more. Each native accepts different currency, which can be found in the wilderness... Or by looting other homes.
---Inventory---
Every character has a bag of holding, so an infinite inventory, but you can still drop stuff in your guild's home chest. The bag of holding can be looted by stealthy opponents, while the chest can be looted by anyone, but requires them to infiltrate your home.
Note that corpses have to be transported and cannot be put in the bag of holding.
---Relationship---
The member of your own guild should be working with you well no matter what, but that's no reason not to work with other guilds. While you are opponents by definition, not everyone is hostile. The more you work with members of a guild that's not yours, the more they'll be competent while working at your side. It might even be worth your while to let another guild win a day from time to time...
****************************************
I think that's all, feel free to ask any question or discuss anything. If at least 3 players sign-up, I'll start the discussion for the base and guild name.

Name: Patch Race: Synthetic being made of solid energy. Resembles a small floating humanoid dressed as a nurse. -Note: Lacking an actual body to leave behind, the corpse left by Patch on defeat is instead a floating orb of leftover code. Gender: Female Age: About as old as the start of the game itself, and does not age. Setting: …Might count as all four? You’d actually be more qualified to answer this. World: Patch doesn’t come from another world, instead coming from the Connection itself. Starting Equipment: Medicine Box. Created as an extension of Patch, simply holding this medicine box allows her to use her abilities. Starting Abilities: Patch is able to heal herself or allies either up close or at range, although for allies she needs line of sight to do so. For offense she can create syringe darts, which appear in the air in front of her and then launch themselves at a target to deal damage. Reversal: Harmacist Patch. Upon entering Reversal mode Patch loses her healing abilities, but gains enhanced syringe darts capable of inflicting status conditions. Being made out of energy, Reversal mode affects Patch to a greater degree than most other fighters changing her appearance and personality as well as her abilities. Backstory: Created within the Connection itself as essentially a more complete form of monster with free will, Patch is something of an anomaly. Still, she’s chosen not to dwell on it (or perhaps hasn’t even considered the implications?) and has joined one of the newly formed guilds in order to help them. Since she doesn’t have a home world to send resources to, her share of each day’s prizes are sent to a world of her choosing, or typically split between the worlds of her guildmates. Appearance:

Do you have a way to see who voted in the suggestion topic? At the very least there was someone else who said they were interested

It was me, just to notify where my thoughts were.
Blood said he was thinking of signing up as a dual character though.

---A NOTE ON BUYING---
Whenever you're exchanging token for something, what you're really paying for is the effect.
For example, First Aid Kit might mean nothing for your character, which means that when paying for a First Aid Kit, you can just said your character receives a Greater Potion if it makes more sense for them.
A car? Might be made of metal for most, but maybe for your character it's made of one big rock with 4 wheels.

I think the NPC guilds are created, except for adding characters that have nothing to do with their guild's themes for guilds I have to consider already recruited wanderers.

Name: Eyrie Race: Elemental Gender: F Age: 1,200? 13? Somewhere around there, she stopped counting centuries ago Setting: Fantasy/Modern World: Eyrie's world has a strong connection between nature and the spirits of nature. In the last millennia, modernization and industrialization has damaged the land and caused irreparable damage resulting in the world itself grinding to a stop. May I ask both players whom already signed up for a number between 1 and 18.
It will just decides which guilds will already have recruited a wanderer.
There's no logic in the numbers btw, other than which guild I thought of first is 1 and the last guild I thought of is 18.

Question I forgot to ask. Does your parasol + your wind manipulation allows you to fly? (I'm asking, because I'm currently pondering wether I allow flying vehicles in season 1 or not. I need to consider how many characters can deal with a flying vehicle without having one themself, so a player being able to fly might affect my decision greatly.)

I pick 7, and also as a reminder Patch floats so if Crow’s character can fly then we’re going to be one very airborne team.

She normally floats around slowly, but using her parasol as a sail she can get around pretty quick considering she's basically weightless
