In some sort of Animal Crossing forum game? I've recently been thinking about making some sort of new forum game here, and I've been getting hit by a fair amount of inspiration related to Animal Crossing. The game would be about a mayor establishing a new town, inviting players to help build it from the ground up. By doing things like selling fruits, digging up fossils and Gyroids, and helping improve the town's appearance and lives of the citizens, the town will grow and prosper, adding new shops and services alongside attracting new neighbors and people to visit and maybe even move to the town. While everyone starts off living in tents with no neighbors, eventually there'll be a lot of people in the town, and like Animal Crossing, players can upgrade their homes at their own pace, as well as choose what furniture and clothing they want. If you're a fan of the Animal Crossing series, I hope you'd end up enjoying this. If you're not familiar with AC, I'd be happy to explain anything you need to know, and I hope you'd end up enjoying this as well. While the goal is to make the town a prosperous place, it's still a very casual, laid-back experience. There won't be any fighting or dying, but I hope the simplicity and atmosphere of the game allows people to enjoy making decisions and living a virtual life in this game. I plan on letting you interact with the people and world in ways that aren't possible in the video games, and made possible by the format of the forum game. I'm also making a backstory that might be explained as you progress throughout the game... I still can't guarantee that I'll go through with this idea, or that this'll keep going for a long time to come, but I want to see if you guys'd be interested in this, because there's no point of this without interest from others. If enough people are interested, then it'd only take some days of further designing the game before I'd let you guys play.

Is it actually an Animal Crossing game or are you choosing a different setting?
Also, I've been contemplating the possibility of creating a casual game for a while now that doesn't involve almost dying every few seconds. I'd be glad to play.

Is it actually an Animal Crossing game or are you choosing a different setting? Also, I've been contemplating the possibility of creating a casual game for a while now that doesn't involve almost dying every few seconds. I'd be glad to play. Yes, it's essentially an Animal Crossing game, but I've taken some liberties to make it a bit more unique. It's supposed to be in New Leaf, directly during and after City Folk. The City will be a fairly large thing in both the gameplay and story. All of the characters from the entire series can appear in the game, mostly being inspired by their New Leaf incarnation. So, Tom Nook will be about real estate, characters like Isabelle from New Leaf exist, Tortimer's on his island, etc. However, I still want the idea of progression and development to be extremely present. So, for example, when you get the Able Sisters to come to your town, you actually won't have Labelle with Mable and Sable immediately until you attract her to the town as well. I'll be mixing things up a bit to continue this theme, but for the most part it'll be really simple to understand, whether you've played the series or not. I'm thinking of also letting you guys suggest and/or run your own businesses when you get far enough into the game. I might create some original characters to run the businesses, but until it's necessary, no original characters (asides from myself). Also, it seems like some of you are interested in this, so thanks! I'll still have to plan out and write some stuff, but in the next few days I'll probably create a signup thread for you guys to create applications for the game.

Wait, do we all get a town or is it one big town we all live in? Or are there multiple towns, but we all live in one?

I made some boards for you so you can have your game. I can change the names or switch the boards around for you if you need it. Just tell me. I can delete or add them as well as make sub boards.

And this is actually getting a bit into the backstory of the game, but basically everyone's been moving to the City now, and the traditional towns of the world of Animal Crossing have essentially disappeared. They're extremely uncommon due to the popularity of the big city now. Think... Mother 3, where everyone moved away from their village to New Pork. Also, thanks for the boards. I'll probably message you down the line just to add the subtitle.

Okay, I've went ahead and posted a sign-ups thread for the game. It'll still be quite a while before the game starts, but this'll let you guys think about the character you want to make. Go ahead and ask any questions about sign-ups or anything else here or there.

Development for Animal Crossing Reunion is going pretty well. I almost have the map for Origin finished, and I think I'm finding ways to comfortably adapt Animal Crossing's mechanics to a forum game. Once again, it's still gonna be a bit before the game goes live anyways, so take your time to flesh out your character.

Who wants to watch terrible video game movies? The Mario and Street Fighter movies are worthy candidates. I could stomach one of the Pokèmon movies too.

We could also watch good ones, but why when the bad ones are so good?

That definitely made sense. No, it actually didn't. Send PMs to the others you want to invite or else they won't know.
