One by one, the train makes its stops and arrivals. The soon-to-be villagers of the town of Origin have now boarded. For one purpose or another, they await their arrival to their new home. It’s a long ride, but hopefully it’s going to be worth it for them.
…
“Hey. Hey… Hey! Wake up!”
You all wake up and see a strange white and blue cat with a red and blue argyle vest shaking you all awake. Outside, you can see that sunrise hasn’t occurred yet. It looks like everyone on the train, asides from yourselves and the weird cat, has already departed.
“I know your eyes are open, but it kinda seems like you’re still asleep to me… Oh! Sorry, but I need to talk to you guys for a bit. I’m just gonna plop across from you guys here…”
The cat walks to the seat across from you all and sits down. ...Wait, were you all seated together before?
“Anyways, I’m Rover. It’s nice to meet you all! You’re all going to the town of Origin, right? ...Oh, you don’t have to answer. I already knew that you were. Heh…”
Rover looks particularly sheepish after that remark.
“...Sorry. I’m here just to make sure you all got to Origin safely. The mayor of Origin wanted me to check on you all. The mayor really cares about you guys, you know. You’re kinda the last shot for his town, and towns in general. The city’s… A really boring, monotonous, demanding lifestyle. Everyone from… Well, I don’t think I should explain that to you, at least not myself. Anyways, we all really hope that you enjoy your new lives in Origin. Choosing to move here already does so much for my friends. I’d settle down here too, but I just love travelling too much.
When you get to Origin, don’t be surprised if it looks a little… Underwhelming. It’s a really new place, and the mayor’s gonna need a lot of help from you guys to even have a chance of maintaining it. It’s a lot to take in, but you’re not alone in this. A lot of people in the city would love to see their simple life in a simple town return.”
You all struggle to keep yourselves awake as the train goes through the tunnel. Over the train’s intercom, the train conductor can be heard.
“We will be shortly arriving at the town of Origin. All passengers departing here should ready their luggage and other items for exiting the train."
“...Well, look at that. We’ve almost arrived at Origin. Remember, we’re all counting on you guys. And we’re all behind you guys 100%. And… Don’t give the mayor a tough time. He’s weird, but he’s a good guy. We go back all the way to 2002, me and him… Oh, I was just rambling. And don’t give anyone else a hard time either. Keep that chin up, and let’s hope we meet again someday.
...You’re still awake, right?”
Rover waves goodbye at you as you groggily get off the train. The train’s whistle blows as it departs. The stars are still out, and the sky’s a deep blue, with a hint of pink towards the east. It’s time to start your new life in the town of Origin.
