All kinds of houses dot the beautiful streets here as people go about on their daily commute. The elementary school can be seen only a few blocks from most homes here, making it an easy walk.

It's another beautiful, sunny day in the town of Sakura New Town! Ah man, everything looks perfect today! At least, until we throw some Yokai into the mix...
The game has started! It's the morning after your characters received their first Yokai... And it's a school day too. Bummer. I guess it's time for you guys to go to school, huh?
(By the way, your characters are middle school students, unless you specifically want this changed.)

Maya woke up in her room with everything seemingly normal as she got out of bed and went about her morning. When she got downstairs, eating breakfast, she just realizes the strange watch on her arm. "Huh? When did...?" It's then the events of yesterday return to her. That's right...
It was just a normal day. Maya was walking home when suddenly a fox appeared, falling from the sky and placing a watch on her wrist. Now she can find these things called Yokai. Yokai can affect people in many ways and Maya remembered how exciting it would be to find them and discover what they're abilities all are. But she will soon discover...just how annoying Yokai really are!
"Bye mom and dad, I'm off to school!" Maya ran down the street, ready to see her friends and go to school. It was going to be a good day! She looked forward to finding the beneficial Yokai that would no doubt be around at school...right?

Maya heads off to school, eager to make new friends with the Yokai for some reason.
She arrives quickly at school, now at the front courtyard. The school campus is pretty large for the average middle school, with large fields for sports like track and soccer behind the school along the left, and a playground to the right. But there's no time to rest! The students start to make their way to their classrooms inside the building. You've only got 5 minutes before your first class starts, but that should be plenty of time to get there.
However, there's two things that grab your attention before you head to class. One, there's some kid running laps around the school... With lightning fast speed. Like, it's hard for your eyes to keep up with this kid fast. Second, there's a kid by the playground... Picking his nose. Quite passionately, too. Oh, is that the double finger technique? Disgustingly impressive. Is it even worth wasting time on these guys...?
