So apparently, "Doomguy" the protagonist of Doom, does have an actual name. It is Flynt Taggart. Digging deeper into this, I found that Flynt Taggart is actually related to William "B.J." Blazkowicz, the protagonist of Castle Wolfenstein and the Wolfenstein 3D series.
And If that isn't odd enough, both of the above characters are also related to Billy Blaze, the protagonist of the obscure game boy game, also by Id software, "Commander Keen".
