Jonathan and his Note Beasts find themselves searching for Malefio to defeat him. It's a cold night in Melodis tonight. Walking down the streets lit only by dim streetlights, a figure stands, ready for Jonathan's approach. It's Malefio. The skeleton stands, looking at Jonathan with a somewhat saddened look. If only things could have been under different circumstances. Perhaps they could be friends. But the fate of the world hangs in the balance. With a gust of chilling wind blowing from behind him, Malefio takes out his crystal staff, Frazga on his shoulder. There will always be one that will never leave his side. Jonathan prepares his whip as well. Frostoise lets out a grunt, telling him he is ready. Seraphoid prepares itself for battle as well, telling Jonathan that it will do all it can. Both sides are tense for the winner of this fight will walk home with the ancient Symphony Summon Scrolls.



The battle starts off with Jonathan on the approach. Seraphoid shoots a few lasers at Malefio, but they're blocked with his staff. As Jonathan gets closer with Frostoise close behind, Frazga starts to create a cold blast of snowy wind, but Frostoise quickly blocks out the attack as Jonathan goes right into fighting Malefio. He grabs Malefio with his whip, ensnaring him and performing the kick claw combo. He quickly pulls Malefio toward him, kicking the skeletal mage down into the ground after a jump up in the air with Frostoise following the attack with a Frozen Claw. Jonathan then attempts to follow up with whip lashes, but Malefio won't be beaten so easily. He blocks the whip with his staff multiple times, working with Frazga to throw a few ice projectiles at Jonathan. Both Jonathan and Frostoise work together in perfect unison to create a block and damage combo, having Frostoise block out the projectiles while Jonathan continues to use his whip on Malefio. The two exchange blows while Seraphoid charges up an attack. A powerful beam hits Malefio, knocking him backward and giving Jonathan the time he needs to steal Malefio's staff. With Malefio disarmed, he's open to attack! "NOW!"



Jonathan unleashes multiple whip lashes on Malefio with Frostoise attacking as well as Seraphoid. Malefio is grabbed by the whip and then thrown into Frazga before Frostoise goes into its shell and is kicked right at them! This is followed by Seraphoid blasting lasers into them both before Jonathan and Frostoise use their most powerful combo. Jonathan snares the two in his whip before throwing them both into the ground, getting shot with lasers, and then Jonathan grabs Frostoise in the whip, launching him at Malefio and Frazga! The two are launched backwards and a cloud of dust covers the area. "The battle is over..." Jonathan walks over to where Malefio and Frazga were tossed off to to claim the scrolls. Suddenly, he's knocked back along with Frostoise!



It starts to blizzard down from above, snow pelting down into the ground from the sky! The dust blows away, revealing Malefio and Frazga standing there. The two quickly approach Jonathan. Icicle projectiles fly right at Jonathan, jabbing into him while large blocks of ice crash into Frostoise and Seraphoid! Frostoise hides in its shell, blocking out the large blocks, but he can't hold it forever! Frazga leaps from Malefio's shoulder onto Jonathan, stealing his whip before throwing Jonathan into the ground and tossing the whip away. large spires of ice come up from around Jonathan and his Note Beasts, knocking them all close together. Malefio then holds out his hand, seemingly using his magic on something. Jonathan can't tell what it is and looks around frantically before noticing Frostoise being completely immobilized. The ice tortoise starts to form cracks all along him. With a crushing motion of his hand, Malefio causes Frostoise to explode into thousands of sharp ice shard, defeating everyone all at once using Jonathan's own Note Beast.



Malefio and Frazga, tired from the battle, gather up the Symphony Summon Scroll held by Jonathan. "Now we can finally end all of this and destroy these scrolls. The world will never have to deal with the pain brought from them ever again." The two walk off from the battle field into the night...

Malefio is the winner!

With Malefio's Ice Control, having Frostoise on Jonathan's team made it pretty dangerous. Frostoise could have been controlled, damaged, or even forced to explode. Frostoise's Refreeze ability just made it even more vulnerable to Malefio's powers as well.
