Well the best way to get help from a civilization is from their leader, right? I'm sure if you convince the Arcsage to help you out, it should be easier.

(Maybe challenge him to a duel or something)

We might need to convince the people as well. Many leaders will not act without the approval of their people.

"That is a good point. So maybe while Sylvia speaks with the Arcsage we can go around and increase our popularity around town?"

(Maybe challenge him to a duel or something) (I highly doubt challenging the Arcsage to a duel is necessary. As a reminder, Sylvia has connections.) "Sounds like a plan. I'll go talk to him."

Sylvia heads off to the royal palace to ask the Arcsage for help. Once she shows up, it seems he's playing some sort of Chocobo arcade dancing game. "Oh, hello Sylvia! Did you need something?" He casually asks this while continuing to play the dancing game.
"So...where exactly should we start? I guess we could just go around doing helpful things. Let's see...the people here like books and learning and such. Maybe something about getting them more books?"

"Sir, there's a prophecy about a war against an army led by the Dark Lords that will decide the fate of the world itself. We were wondering if there was any way we could get the assistance of the Magis army when the time comes for the final battle..."

"Well if they know what they want, they can probably already get it themselves. I know! What if we helped at the library? Maybe they could use some assistance. It is pretty big after all."
"Hmm...I will. IF...you can beat me at a dance battle! Come on, Sylvia! Let's see what ya got!" It seems in order to get the Arcsage to help you in battle, you have to defeat him in a...dance battle?

Sylvia shrugged, stepping onto the second mat. "Alright then, I'll give it a try."

Sylvia stands on the strange machine as the game starts up.
It seems to start out simple enough. These steps are pretty basic. Battling against the Arcsage won't be so simple though. Both Sylvia and the Arcsage keep up pretty well and don't miss any steps. Things start to get more complicated though. It's starting to move faster. It doesn't look like the Arcsage is having any trouble though. His training techniques were always strange like this...maybe you can use some of what you remember from your past to win this.

Sylvia remembers a particular lesson that the Arcsage always seems to live by: to not worry about what's going to happen if you fail, or else you run the risk of losing focus and... Well, failing. Thus, she clears her mind of doubt and worry, focusing entirely on the game.

Sylvia tries to release her worries about what the game is for and focuses on the game itself. Changing her focus to having fun, she simply starts to build up a great combo. Wow, both her and the Arcsage are at 4X score multiplier! Both continue on with a perfect score. It looks like there are special notes incoming! Sylvia performs the correct sequence of steps and summons Ifrit to dance with her! In the game, of course. It looks like the Arcsage summoned Alexander! Things are getting really intense! You're nearing the end of the song with the most difficult steps to come!
