*sigh* Werp rescue it is then, although unless they don't have anything like microscopes I'm not sure how he wouldn't be able to study it. Take a hair from one of them, stick if under a microscope, and notice something strange about it. Like I said, my character is a scientist, which means that "we don't know why, but things happen like this" isn't an answer that's going to satisfy his sense of scientific curiosity.

I'm pretty sure they don't have microscopes... Considering that they have and know how to use TMs (not to mention that there are ruins of labs that look like something you would see in modern day), it's hard to say exactly how advanced civilization is in the Mystery Dungeon series. In any case, we're probably getting too far off topic, so I'll stop. |

Pip starts growling at the Clamperls and intimidates them slightly. Vereor then confuses one of the Clamperl, making it look like the other disappeared while Markus throws it into the other with Confusion. Buby then uses Water Gun to blast a current of water and knock them both in the wall where the Shadow Pokemon disappear. Everyone moves on as Buby grows to level 3! After swimming for a short amount of time, some more Shadow Pokemon show up. A Gorebyss and Huntail. Better get ready to fight them off.

Buby will use defense curl from a fair bit away. Markus uses disarming voice to bit both of them

Ooh. Pip will use Bubble in unison with Markus's Disarming Voice to transmit the sound waves inside the bubbles to deal more damage at once.

Buby stays in the back and uses Defense Curl while Vereor suddenly appears behind Gorebyss and tackles it. Markus and Pip then work together for a combo attack as Markus yells into Pip's bubbles, causing hearts to bounce around inside and increase in size before the heart bubbles explode on the two, dealing some sufficient damage. The Shadow Pokemon dissolve away and Buby grows to level 5!
(I think she learned Rollout, but I don't remember. Do you want to learn it?)

(Yep. only in ORAS where spheal learns rollout at level 5)
hmm. rollout + Defense curl Combo would be powerful. but Aqua ring would be useful for the next boss.... then again Aqua ring is not THAT useful. no one uses it in competitive play so bye-bye Aqua ring

Buby learns Rollout and forgets Aqua Ring. The group then continues on to the deepest part of the caverns, finding a wide open space full of beautiful, rainbow gems in the walls that light up the area. While swimming through, they find what looks like...a Shadow Gem! It flashes and dark energy pulses out of it before a strange monster shows up. The long tail of a Milotic, the body of a Slowpoke, and the head of a Kingdra. It's some sort of shadow fusion of Pokemon! It prepares to attack everyone with a strange sound.

Markus uses Disarming Voice to see if it is a Dragon Type. while Buby Uses Defense Curl to not only raise defense but to raise the power of rollout as well
