Professor Pine: So you caught THAT many Shadow Pokemon? What exactly happened? You can tell me more while we work on purifying the Pokemon. It's a very simple process that requires the physical embodiment of emotions. Dance.
Your purified Pokemon must open the way to the heart of the Shadow Pokemon by performing a dance! The success rate will change depending on how well you perform and how many Pokemon perform. So Shade might want to help too.

(I thought it was a machine and didn't even need other Pokemon, they just sped up the process. You're telling me that they seriously went from "mystical shrine in an old town that draws upon the power of Celebi" to "dancing in a circle" in a single game?)
Alright, whatever, Victini and Wailmer will help while Cass rests up.
Edit: I don't know what video you were watching, but that looked like idle animations, not dancing. As far as I can tell it's just the machine being given a boost by them, not the power of dance.

Coilette rides her motorcycle into the lab and drives around the Shadow Pokémon with her doggies on her head and arms, doing some sick wheelies and donuts while they dance too.

Carrie looks dumbfounded by what she heard.
Carrie: You mean the secret to purifying pokemon is dancing? Well at least all those dance lessons I took wouldn't be a total waste
Carrie calls out Fennie and Pika (I assume they are fully healed now) and she begins dancing a beautiful and passionate dance with her and her Pokemon

The Shadow Pokemon are purified while Professor Pine panics about Coilette driving a motorcycle in the building.
Professor Pine: COILETTE, I ALREADY TOLD YOU YOU CAN'T USE ANY FORM OF BICYCLE INDOORS AHHHHH DON'T BREAK ANYTHING!
The Shadow Pokemon return to their owners, looking less hostile. They also seem slightly confused.

(In any case, may as well catch Pine up on what happened.)
"We went to the lighthouse and the two of them confronted the two trainers with Shadow Pokemon. They defeated them and snagged a Roggenrola from one of them. At this point, two more trainers showed up and backed them up, only for your neice and assistant to snag their Shadow Pokemon as well. As they were escaping Cass tried to cut them off so we could bring them into custody, but one of them sent out an Altaria and knocked her aside with Hyper Beam."

Professor Pine: I wonder why they used their weaker Pokemon first...It doesn't really make sense if they were actually trying to beat you in a battle...

Carrie: That guy seemed different though. I could see the hurt in his eyes as he lost his Rogen. I mean I wouldn't just give him back unless he promises to not mistreat him again. BUT I kexpect on thinking how would I feel if Pika or Fennie were stolen fromy me
